I'm not sure how true it actually is, but I heard a lot of the modifications were forced on people even though they didn't want them. Or their cars wound up being even less functional afterward.

But a lot of the stuff they put in the cars was pretty cringey and you could tell there was no way that it could last. Although the team was pretty talented and would pop up on more serious shows where you could see what they were actually capable of.
