I'm a reasonably good writer, but my biggest shortcoming is in coming up with ideas to write about. If I HAVE a story to tell, I can figure out what I need to make the points connect together, I can write good characters, and I can write good descriptions. But I can't just sit down and write; if I try, it takes forever and I never get anything meaningful done and I'm likely to write myself into a corner.

ALL OF THIS. [ugly crying] i can't do ANYTHING if i'm not super motivated and non-distracted, and unfortunately that almost never happens.

I'm basically doing the same thing rn. I have to fill in plot holes, details, smooth everything out and make sure it flows well and makes sense! I'm also creating lore right so... have to do so much. Religions, events, items, locations, themes, styles, languages, races, cultures, traditions, etc etc yikes. It's fun but soooo tedious and also overwhelming at times!

all of this also! we've got all the basics down, but smaller details like actually creating a language... that will take some time. we also made the mistake of including a wide range of existing cultures and backgrounds, so now we'll be doing research for the rest of our lives.

Since I'm planning to make this into a video game later I'm also writing a lot of other stuff. Players can choose to play as nb, male or female, there's three sets of eyes, mouths, noses, face shapes, skin tones and hairstyles to choose from. You can rename your character or change your name. Every character is romanceable, no one is locked out due to the sex of your character. You can also build friendships. I'm going to have to write a script haha. It's a lot of work but I'm super excited.

that sounds pretty neat tho. i don't envy you on writing scripts; i know nothing about that and wouldn't even wanna try... but if it's what you're into, i'm sure it'd be a lot more fun for you than it would me. ;v;

Honestly if you want to PM me about your characters I'd love to hear about them. You can gush as much as you want and send me art. I'm not offended by NSFW stuff so you can send anything like that too! It would be awesome to have someone else to chat with about stories, characters, etc. I have some reeeeally old art that I got a while back that I could show you!

the sad part is i don't actually have much current art. with all the recent changes, not to mention improving (at least a little) in art skill, most of what i did have involving our OCs is trash now. or, you know, rotting in my folders never to see the light of day again.
i really like characters, though. the more people have put into theirs, the more interested i am in seeing/learning about them. it's kinda rare to find people who share that lol.

I've started to put together a poetry book but it's going to take some time. I'm taking a thematic approach, so of the rough 200 complete poems that I have, I'm only including about 6. I'm debating if I want to add any poetic prose or just keep it to poems. I might have a handful more items to add if I finish up a few old things.
