so this morning my other half of 7 years decides to discuss wanting to have a baby! up until now he hasn't wanted one, at all 0-0 now he's saying he wants to start having one this year.
Its exciting, scary and overwhelming to think about as I've never had the chance to actively want a child before. Now its all boom planning mode? I have bipolar effective disorder rapid cycling and I worry about meds and effects on baby. Also my own emotional state I wonder how I will be. so any advice from trisphee parents would be lovely!! still trying to get my head around that woop is going to have a baby one day 0-0

Same bomb shell for me on mothers day.. My hubby was like hey lets have a baby.. We have been having some issues lately and I was like if its your way of fixing us then no.. if its really something that you want after we fix us then yes.

have you considered adoption? less chance of having a baby with birth-defects that way and it would take only a little longer than conceiving

I am on the other side of the coin, I want kids but currently cant have them. We are waiting until Alpha finishes OCS to even start trying, and yes i have a mental countdown in my head with it.
I am hypoglycemic and will probably have gestational diabetes while pregnant, I have talked with both my OB & regular doctor about it and what could happen to the baby if it does occur. Really that is about the best advice that you can get, go talk to your OB & regular doctor about what your meds could do to a child during pregnancy and see if you can be switched to different meds that have a lower risk of birthing problems. I know my sister has minor depression and she went off her meds while trying for a baby, and from what I saw her mood swings lessened during pregnancy due to the hormones but each person and pregnancy is different. Adoption is an option though if it is too risky, though many companies don't give the parents as much time off for an adopted child as they would for maternity leave. It can also lead to other problems later in life, like questions of why their birth parents didn't want to keep them, unknown health issues, donor problems for severe health issues, or a lawsuit if the birth father was not informed and didn't sign over rights to the child.
