Default waiting for people   #1
omg I fricking hate waiting for people *dies* I've so far waited 40 minutes for our friend Paul to arrive. We invited him over and he was gonna have dinner with us. But so far no show, it annoys me cause I get sick of making an effort and people screwiing me over plus I hate worrying if somethings happened to them when usually it hasn't.

discuss people being late
waiting for people

lol I haven't actually cooked anything as of yet he was meant to be here by 3pm its now nearly 4pm. But that's beside the point haha. I hate the thought of chasing people up, I tend not to be the one calling or texting, I'm the one that organizes lol.

I hope he gets here soon.

My Aunt is like that. If she say's she'll be somewhere at three, it's best to not expect her until like five. Today is a prime example, too. My toddler spent the night at her house last night, and she said she'd have him home around 6:30-7:00 pm tonight. She didn't get him home until almost 10. But she did call me and let me know that they'd made a pit stop or two along the way (She lives a couple of hours away), and that they'd gone to see my Great Grandmother and do the whole Easter basket thing at her house. But it's something she does pretty frequently. And her nickname at work is "Twenty," because she's almost always twenty minutes late... XD

I do get somewhat impatient waiting for people and sometimes it can be worrisome. Like the time at Heathrow airport in London when I was waiting for my friend to pick me up and he didn't show and didn't show and then finally after 50 minutes I hear the overhead and he had been waiting for me elsewhere. In general I am pretty patient, but I don't like people wasting my time.

I agree with the above that Paul should have texted you, it is only polite.

@Chocobo - I like your direct approach.

Kilala your toddler was up kind of late I think. Seems to me that auntie should have got him home on time.
I used to have a sig. Really.

@Uma: Yeah. We usually try to have him in bed between 8 and 9. But he handled it pretty well, no real fussing once we got him ready for bed, and he went to sleep with no problems.

I hate waiting for people too!

I'm always waiting for others.
Not that I'm never late for anything.
But it's rare that I'm late. e A e;

Don't you love it when people say "I'm almost there!"
When they haven't even left yet...

wonderful & strange

I'm usually fifteen minutes late for just about everything.
I don't mean to be, but I seem to underestimate the amount of time I have to get ready for anything.

I've never been the type of person that can just 'get up and go'.
It takes time, and I have to feel confident that I look good- which in turn makes me feel ready to take on the day.

It's selfish, and there's really no excuse. I can blame it on low self-esteem, but it would just be a load of crap.
I'm competitive and I enjoy getting dolled up for any reason.

Though, lately I've been getting better at reducing the amount of time it takes to get ready. Choosing what I wear/what color scheme I want for the next day easily frees up a good half hour if I'm off to a bad start.

I hope I'm late to the grave someday. Or just completely absent.
That would be even better.
"I can't die yet, I'm still getting ready."
If only it worked that way.

I don't mind waiting for people - what bugs me out is if people have to wait for me.
I try to get to places on time so people don't have to wait. I try for early actually.

I usually always am early to things. Its a habit I picked up from band "if you're not 30 minutes early. You're late"
I always feel really horrible if I don't arrive early. But im also an awkward person so if no one I know is around I stand around and look weird. But I really cant help arriving early.

I also get pretty anxious when people are late. Like I start to have a panic attack because of past experiences. So I really dislike when people are late ;_;

Depends, I have my days where I can be patient if I feel that the person has a legit reason for being late but the most frequently annoying thing I find myself waiting on is for some of the girls I go out with to put on their make up.

They know what time we have to leave, they're always told in advance yet they still take half an hour to put their faces on and do their hair, one girl in particullar is really bad with this. I don't care one way or another what someone has to do to get ready but for the love of god don't take forever and make me wait on you to get going! And when we actually are out we usually have to stop in front of every reflective surface so she can make sure everything is in place, makes me feel like we're getting nothing done and her appearance takes precedent over whatever we're doing.

Hi Red.

Yes! There is one friend of mine we have to tell him an hour before when something starts so he will be there on time. I'm not sure why he's always so late. He doesn't primp at all... he's just ~ late. ALWAYS!
