I don't know, the most memorable pony is the blue one and he's a little douche.
everything prior to Friendship is Magic was kinda terrible.

Willis I showed it to Ryan and that is exactly what he said: the blue one is a little douche. Those exact words.

friendship is magic is pretty god-awful too, it is just better drawn which is something ubiquitous to animation in general
i like making orange-walnut shrimp

TELL HIM TO STOP THAT!
Willis, someone tried to defend that shit by saying "It's old and they didn't have much of a premise to work with" You know what's also from the late 80's early 90's and didn't have much of a premise? This: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YLbpUsBjjfg We're talking about a show inspired by freaking CANDY. What excuse do the ponies have? Chocobo: I actually kinda like MLP Gen 4, it has it's merits and the characters are more memorable by far.

Friendship Is Magic is really good. >:[ It does not have that ridiculous sugar-water vibe that previous generations had.
And no, being old is not an excuse for the older shows to be so bland and crapulous. Also, he said it first.

they are memorable because they are /your/ ponies, you are part of the brony mob that rejects all the girliness of the older gens and takes the heavily recycled and brightly colored syrup as the best
also, it is shown that first and third gen are by far the most popular gen and the fourth gen has a painfully low marketability that is only barely scraping alongside with gen three which was so abysmal it was scrapped and the first and third gens dont have any visible effects of it and looks like the first

...except not, having seen episodes from the different generations and compared them strictly based on actual plot and characterization content.

....I liked it because it reminds me of fraggle rock in a way. Plus some of the songs are catchy, and I wouldn't really consider them "My Ponies" I grew up with the second generation and remembered nothing from it nor did I ever seek it out. Sure the current show isn't what I'd call deep or profound but it feels more coherent in it's writing and the characters are more defined than previous generations. There was more effort put into making this an actual narrative story whereas previous generations were basically trying to sell the toys.

wrong again, the overall amount of pony variations is fairly consistent and no again if you take into effect books and subsets and toys
i kid you not you really are just like all the other pony lovers only less accepting of paid merchandise and collecting. this is a popculture fad and when gen five comes out even if the next gen says 'it is the best ever' you will defend yours trust me, my friend is a pony freak and stands behind gen one all the way because that is 'her' pony and she does it and feels it the same way you do only she actually buys the crap that goes with it instead of making mlp generated ocs and pop-tastic demotivationals
