Morbidly Obsessed
Default Opinions on this..   #1
Last night, while going out to feed our hungry little bird friends, Dawn somehow slipped and fell.. Luckily at the time, nothing seemed broken, I had just a few scraps, mostly my leg took the blunt.. this morning, my shoulder/arm started to hurt and my mom says it looks swollen.. I am unable to get myself out of a chair without pain going up my arm nor can I pick anything really heavy up and cracks when I move it at times..

My mom wants me to go to the ER and get it checked out but that means going out and catching the bus to the hospital.. I don't feel it needs the ER.. if I don't move it, it doesn't hurt that much.. but the bad thing is, I'm right handed so.. pretty much, I have no choice in the matter, the arm has to move for me to eat, etc..

I am curious what other people would do this in situation, would you go to the ER or wait it out? I already promised if the pain doesn't ease up or the swelling doesn't go down, to make a doctor app. tomorrow..

I'd say you should probably go to the ER trust me it's probably for the best.

Go to the ER it might be a fracture and if so then they will put you on a sling and tell you what not to do. ER is the best option

I'd also suggest the ER, or at the very least, schedule an emergency appointment with your clinic. It sounds like it could be a pulled or rolled tendon, like what I'd done to my ankle a few years back.

I would rather be safe than sorry and probably go to the ER. Personally, I would take ibuprofen for the pain/swelling and wait it out for a few days.

Update:

I caved in and went to the ER.. turns out soft issue damage.. so I have two different pain relievers and I have to do exercise to keep the joint from stiffening up.

Yea.. I have always been lucky.. worst I have ever walked away with is a sprained ankle.. doesn't help my grandmother fell a few weeks before Christmas so my mom was like, this is just what we need.. got a nice scrapped up knee as well.. doesn't help when Mom keeps flinging all the heavy packages on me today.. - -'

Same here, not sure I would be thrilled having to explain to people.. good thing I don't have to do the job stuff till next week.. through.. I would of had visible proof of why I was unable to do my weekly searches.. (shouldn't really joke about that cause they are strict there.. really strict..)
