Yaaay perspective time!


1. At least your family is financially stable. Growing up, I never got anything for my birthday and, if I did, it wasn't for me. It was for her. (except for my last 2 presents, one that I sold and the other that she stole from me)
2. Consider your parents' personalities. Did they experience hardship growing up? Maybe they don't really believe in holidays. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying they are right. I just want you to think about your parents and their personal opinions. If they celebrate easter and christmas, but not your birthday, that should be a problem.
3. You are not alone in the religious sexism. My best friend is in your position. Any time she has had a job she paid for EVERYTHING, this means her college classes, gas, video games, clothes, ect. She is the middle child. Both of her older siblings have free rides to college (eve though one of them is blowing it) but she has to pay for her own schooling. Her two younger siblings are the #1 priority because they are pro swimmers and their parents expect them to get through college with a sports scholarship. There are other things that have happened in her life that her parents wouldn't listen to her about or blamed her about. She is constantly at war with her mother. It's actually funny some of the time, but still. Her family is definitely more religious than yours (I haven't met anyone whose family beat her family at it) and they believe, like your parents, that children are to take part in house work. I totally understand if you are the ONLY person doing ANYTHING. I had to clean a hoarders house DAILY and, eventually, just stopped. So we lived in mountains of just plain junk for years- unless a social worker came over then my fingers would practically bleed from how much work I had to do in one day. I was so Cinderella it isn't even fucking funny.
4. Consider broadening the search area for a job. This will either force your parents to drive you to work OR you will walk further. This can give you free time to yourself to relax and it can be used as a reason against your parents as to why you should not be able to clean everything alone or why you need more sleep. I have over 9000 (lol) health problems. I should NOT be working until I get my surgeries and my medication in order. However, because of our financial state, I did have a job for about 5 months. I didn't do SHIT around the house. It did cause a problem but, seriously, I was paying the fucking bills. I shouldn't have had to take care of the house too.

My mom was like that too, but I had no siblings till I was 16. lol I was just wondering if you were the youngest, but apparently not. But being that you're the only girl (i think) would make sense. They want you to come out the best and learn from it all, I'm sure. Though it sucks and they don't have to put it all on you. But really..you got a kindle fire. Oh well. I didn't get dinner half the time, so don't complain too much about that. lol

We aren't that financially stable really. I mean we can get stuff buy not really. I haven't gotten clothes in a while or anything that is necessary. I barely get food to eat unless I go to a friends house or something

ill just skip that third part I don't like comparing because its nit fair. Everything is different where you were raised ectect so not fair.

Outside of my town there is literally nothing for.miles so that's out of the question.



@muff the kindle fire kinds sucks really it was cool for the first bit but really. Its nothing special
no Usb ports or anything. And I cant even use it like I said its a waste of money on me now

Have you tried asking for the receipt to take it back? If it's worthless and they aren't going to get the card and if you guys are having trouble with food- they should have just bought a cake for you instead, or something. :/
