He was thankful that the day they were able to leave on was one as beautiful as it was, and without the temptation of anything but the earth and life surrounding them it was nearly perfect. in under an hour the house was out of their view and another one was not within range of being seen for at least a half-day worth of travel. He began to swing their arms between them. "Lonis, how many children did you think that woman had? I swear I counted over ten of them."

he had no interest in counting children and so had not, he only knew that there were many and none managed to pull on his tail. "i do not know. more than there ought to be"

[Honey]

"Do not take things so seriously, it was merely a joke. However, what is not a joke are your lessons and I figure we ought to begin early." His hand was pulled away to gently pat him on the shoulder. "I had hoped we would come across a stream around here, but I am afraid that since I have visited last it has been covered up by land. Instead we will keep ourselves busy with the lessons we have been focusing on. Let us pause over here by these flowers."

(It will be the same routine of trying to listen to them or hear a heartbeat)

they stayed at the place his master pointed out for some time before he was allowed to stop and they spent their time with history and other topics he was more versed it

The other was not progressing as fast as he had when he first learned, but he also knew it was a significant age difference and he was expected to learn it much faster given his race than the boy would. Still, he thought that he might try and take a different approach the next time they had their lessons to see if it could have been any different from their first few days of practice. In the mean time he tried to throw confusing questions at the lad. "Which type of plant is poisonous if consumed? Night bloom or Night shadow?"

"..bloom, the name is misleading and shadow only causes bad dreams?" scrunching up his brow he waited to find out if he was right

[Honey]

He shook his head, sending his braid moving lightly from side to side. "Neither are poisonous, they merely make one ill, or give bad dreams, as you mentioned. Nightshade is a poisonous flower, however, lethal even in small doses, yet oddly useful if only only a drop is added to medicinal mixture." As punctuation he nodded his head. "They say it can also make people into vampires, or cure people from their undead state, the myths have not been very clear. Do you know what other flowers can help vampires return to their restful peace?"

this he knew and spoke with much more certainty than before, "non but the bulb of garlic plants can be used if eaten in a large enough quantity though your head would feel as if your were being killed and your essence would be tainted until you flushed"

[Honey]

In approval he nodded again, "Very good Lonis. I am sure you have heard other of other herbs to rid o other harmful creatures such as werewolves, demons, faeries, and even deadly humans. As we travel I want for you to name me two things from each category without overlapping substances."

nodding he was allowed to finally put away the rest of the meal and they began walking once more

The lessons stretched on through the day until he felt no more a need to ask any questions and instead they carried on in silence. They stopped to talk to none of the people on their way, and ignored any of the things they could have stopped to see in the fields to keep walking. Slowly the sky turned from its bright blue skies filled with clouds to the lightest of pinks and oranges which reminded him of a sweet, ripe summer's peach. The sparkle of stars far off in the distance began to shine through the colors as it grew darker. Soon the sky was as blue as the deepest part of a pond with the moon sky high in the perfect circle. He wrapped his arm around Lonis' shoulders as he pulled him close.

he was enjoying his master's company when the arm found him and restraining himself from looking up gave the night a grin for the luck of the touch. easing closer he purposely slowed them so that they were less at a brisk walk and more at a meandering stroll, carefully he proposed that it was near time to set up camp for the night

He couldn't do much than agree with the boy, and keeping up their gentle and slow pace he moved them off of the path into the soft grass of the meadow. The plains were littered with shady spots beneath the trees where one might normally lay, but instead he led them both out into the grass where there were no trees blocking their view. He spread their blanket across the grass before gently bringing the boy to lay down beside him while they could dream beneath the star-filled sky.

he awoke not to sun but to a cold wetness hitting him. opening his eyes and hissing he realized it was rain that attacked him and mindless of the long arms wrapped around him in a spoon he bolted upright and headed for the nearest tree to escape it

[Honey]

He was not awoken to the cool sensation of rain falling upon his skin, but abruptness of which the other darted free of his arms. Alarmed he sat up to survey the surroundings and found that it was nothing except for rain. Slowly he stood to finds that it had not been raining for long, and wiping a dry hand across his face rid of any stray raindrops. "Come now, Lonis. We have experienced rain before, why let your dislike of it stop our peaceful morning?"

from under the twisted oak that shaded him from the drops he spoke, "that was not a surprise to me and this rain is cold!"


(he looks ruffled and a little petulant, he is not happy but he will come out in it if you'd like, otherwise make it pour and it will be the gods offering a free bath XD)
