Heyro. I've just been sitting here wondering how to redo my Patreon. How I've got it set up right now isn't getting anyone. And currently being irritated by my mother.

I miss having my own place... Damn the economy.

have you considered advertising yourself? or is this assuredly an issue with set-up?

I do on Facebook and DeviantART. I don't try to on sites like this because I don't want to discourage away from their donations.
I had mine set up more on an avatar base theme, but I want to broaden my Patreon's art styles.

Whoops, fixed. I plan on having milestones that actually fit in with what I put out. When I first got on Patreon, I thought that was my own goal setup. Then I just completely forgot to erase it.

Patreon is interesting.

I think that in order to gain any traction with one, a person already needs to have a bit of a following before getting started. I've seen several fairly successful game makers do that.

True - I have seen similar with artists. (whole webcomics funded on Paetron after a few years as a commission artist)

Haven't seen many Patreon writers, though...

Yeah, the successful ones I've seen are all artists and game makers who were already reasonably popular. Patreon doesn't generate interest, it gets money out of interest.
