We're all mad here.
I'm not sure if I've played The Hobbit or not. I have the Lord of the Rings which I quite like since it's a cooperative board game though most of the important moves happen in the last three turns or so.

Tales of the Arabian Nights is great fun. It's like the choose your own adventure books but it's a board game. Each move you are given an encounter that you must choose your raction to, which can be affected by skills you have and such. It's great fun because the apprently "safe" choices arent't always safe. For example, you see a rich man and can either snub him, praise him, ignore him, ask for money, give money, etc. If you snub him you may insult him or make him curious, and if you praise him he may like you or think you are just a groveler.

In a couple more rediculous encounters, my brother went exploring and found a gem. A creature came out of said gem and attacked him and he wound up in a cave somwhow. Bandits came into the case and attacked him. Then he called for help and a passing monster heard him and beat him up some more. That was the result of him being curious about a gem.

In my case another player controlled my choice for that turn or I was feeling silly, not sure which, and I punched the beggar I met. The story went that the beggar was a barber who gave me a bad hair cut and wouldn't stop talking to me until I hit him. He kept talking to me, I ran out of the store, he followed me, we got to talking and turns out he was smart and had a rich friend. Impressed with my skills be invited me over to meet said influental friend and I was showered with riches. Yeah. For punching a beggar or man of modest means. Can't really remember.

The story telling book is the size of a small text with charts that randomize the stories so they'res lost of replay value. Even if we've hit a passage we've heard before they have often had different endings. Great fun, but be prepared to spend 3 or 4 hours playing. It's a long game.

Monopoly is the best. xD
I actually love board games. Everybody else I know hates them, I don't get it. Oh well. I like just about any kind of game.

I used to love board games as well, but I don't really have the time for that anymore...

I used to like playing Pay Day, Monopoly and some random tridomino thingie, and I had that mouse trap game as well that was fun when it wasn't broken xDD

Hmmm, I wonder, do Cosplay Chess count as a board game? xD If so, then I play it every year lol.

Uhhhh, no, more like real life chess, where cosplayers are the pieces on a giant chessboard and if a player makes you 'knock down' another piece you have to go fight the other cosplayer ^^

Something like this:

I've seen a cosplay chess match once. It was quite a lot of fun :3 I wouldn't be able to participate in it but I do love watching it.

My favorite was Life lol (and it's the only one I can really remember) but I remember another one called Trouble or Don't Get In Trouble and it was fun. I also liked Monopoly too, though it takes FOREVER to finish that game sometimes.

We're all mad here.
I find it interesting that most of the games mentioned are the ones I would stil say are fairly popular. We don't have many of those around though since their haven't been that many kids around. Most of the games my brother has are for teens and up.

My niece lately has been big into Chutes and Ladders. My mom adn I were going through a box of old games and she seemed to find it all fascinating, especially since she knew several of the games from computer versions. She was quite enthusiastic about their real life versions ;).

(。◕‿◕。) I remember playing them when I was a kid.
Always by myself too. I have a couple
board games now and made a couple but
my family don't play them anymore. It
doesn't really interest me anymore. I
guess because I'm getting older.

I don't play board games...they require other people and a lot more space to store one of them.

People rarely come over. So no point in having them.

And I have no cards .-. Except Magic the Gathering .-.
