The name reverberated though his head, yes he was a monster. 'But,' his inmost voice protested, 'Alexander does not think you're a monster.'

Another voice sneered, "Yeah, and Dark will end up hurting him and Alexander will finally see how horrifying a beast you are.' his silence was gone and the voices were back but this time on tiny voice was protecting him.

'Stop fighting and simply admit your nothing more then a dumb monster who can only destroy."

he could hear them in his head now, they were not talking to him he knew but he listened anyway. when the exchange ended and the chatter resumed he had an idea, he spoke out to the darkness this time then prove it, let him come destroy me. let him prove himself a monster. he felt the voices hush again. he could feel them deliberating. he tapped his feet. if you know he cannot he felt them twitter again. he wondered how a dream could be so aware but he did not think to hard on it, the most important thing was to save the other

When Dark heard the voices stop at another's shout he was curious. Until he realised whose shout it was. "No," Dark shouted, "Get out of here." Alexander was not supposed to get mixed up in Dark's freaksih nightmares. Dark stopped listening to what anyone and everyone was saying.

the voices got excited and the darkness agreed to his demand. he felt the nonexistent ground shift and something snapped somewhere just outside of his peripherals

Something changed and Dark was not sure what. One second he had been asking Alexander to leave his dreams and the next he was else where. The scenery reminded him of glatator Rome.

he felt the heat and dust. he found himself in an amphitheater. the crowds screamed for blood and he knew it was his they wanted. he clenched the weapon he was provided, tightly. across the wide pit a growl could be heard and a great black lion appeared to peel itself from the shadows. he looked at it evenly. it gave a growl and charged. he held steady and it bared down, before it hit he knew. he shoved the weapon into the heart of the lion and both went down in a great puff of dust. do not cheat me! he cried. the darkness promised him and he would not accept any substitution

Dark was in the amphitheter with Alexander next thing he knew. It was hopefully just a dream because the point of this was to kill the opponent. Dark gripped his sword tighter and ran for the Alexander apperition.

he could tell right away this was the real dark. he waited as the other gathered himself. he did not look away as the other picked up his sword and charged. alexander tossed his sword to the side and spread his hands in welcome. his lord faltered then redoubled, he could feel the boy's confusion and frustration. as the other ran the last few steps he threw his sword to the ground and instead slapped alexander across the face.

Dark knew something was wrong when the fake Alexander did not defend himself. So Dark discarded the sword he could not use any ways and slapped the appirition...to discover that it was real. Or at least it felt real, "Alexander?" Dark asked in disbelief.

he smiled and lifted a hand to his lord's face. i have found you he felt the other lean into his touch. the darkness grew angry. i realized it had been tricked it gathered itself like a great cloud. RUN RUN NOW! he grabbed the other's hand and ran for dear life

Dark followed Alexander's instructions, running alongside him having yet realeased Alexander's hand. "Do you even know how to get us out of here?" Dark asked wondering how one even beats a dream.

he laughed. i do not, i have not ever gotten this far he sped up dragging dark along. we must hurry though, our time is nearly up! he swung a corner and took an incline, there were no visual clues in this maze of a nightmare but he needed none to find his way from a dream. he keppt on, soon the dusky dark began to streak a sunset color. they were nearly there! he turned to look at the prize, his lord running hand-in-hand with him through the dark his pale skin aglow and his black shining looks loose and flowing in a wind made entirely from their running. he dared to smile at the other. they turned another corner and the world burst into light, they flew along as if on wings through the swirl of it. he could feel the edge of the world touch his outstretched fingers even as he kept his eyes on the others, close, so close! he could feel it pull at him now as the world began to break away he opened his mouth to share the words.....and a great black void came from below and swallowed the boy whole. his rapture turned into a scream as he was pulled out of the dream-

-he woke with a gasp. he lay sprawled out over the other. the boy still slept and he cursed, again he had failed, again he let the darkness win. he wrapped his armes around the other the best he could. he would not let the nightmare take away his lord.

Dark ended up following Alexander. Though Alexander claimed ot have no idea he seemed to know where he was heading. "What is with the sky?" He asked as he was dragged along. Whenever he had nightmares before they had always been during the daytime hours. Then Alexander disappeared and Dark was alone once more. The voices, once Alexander was gone, started right up again. But one stood out amoung the rest, "You would have killed him had he not shown his hand."

he shook the poor boy awake. "no, you will not stay without me" the other's eyes snapped open as his head bobbled

The fist thing Dark saw apon his rough awakening was Alexander, who was also awake. Dark curled into him and asked, "Was that you?" dark hoped not, his nightmares were not places for friends to visit.

"it was, and i confess the other time and once again before that. i think i see why i am here, i must break your curse and free you from the nightmare" he did not realize he was manic sounding to his lord, he was still high off of the chase. "it must be destroyed"
