Yeah I fail and being eloquent in my speech. xD;
You on the other hand just did a good diplomatic job. -nods- Thank you. And please pray for my mother and brother too. I'm not sure just how much it bothers everyone else but they are the most emotional of everyone in my family about this subject. Scylla. Got it. =)

well i usually suck the butt at being both eloquent and diplomatic. i'm naturally a very gruff, grumpy person and i'm blunt and just rude sometimes. plus english is not my first lang so I sucks the butt at using it a lot. lol. i thought you sounded fine, though, you don't sound accusatory or rude or anything.
and I certainly will. this is never an easy issue to deal with, but it's impressive that you are trying to deal with it in an informed way. bitches please

Jurinjo, I would say that the problem lies in your mother and church not respecting your own beliefs. While it may be that you don't believe homosexuality is a sin...they most likely do.
No one believes exactly the same things as others, so a lot of the time people may have to accept that someone they care about (as I certainly hope your family cares about you) might believe in something that they consider to be incorrect. When religion is involved, it can lead to trying to save the person they care about. Since they believe homosexuality is a sin, they don't want to see you damning yourself to Hell, for instance. This might sound strange, but I don't believe in Hell myself. "For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so we might be saved." If God is willing to give up his Son (who is also himself), why would he let any of us go to Hell? Just my own personal belief. ![]() ♥ Never be afraid to be yourself ♥ Want to see my art or webcomic? Serra's Art Gallery A Neko's Quest | My Closet Kitsune's Haven Image courtesty of tsukiko

Rereading my post I relized I never even said anything about the paper. O.o I believe it is a good one to show your mother but sometimes people are so set in their ways that they can't change how they think. If you cannot convince her with that you could try hard fact and how you can't change even if you want to. She needs to step past her comfort zone and become okay with your homosexuality. Also, I shall pray for your mother and brother.

Back yet busy. Augh.
I really think you should give that book/pamphlet/paper thing...yeah...to you mom. Might help a lot. I'm a bit worried about homework right now, so advice is not gonna get said anytime soon, but I think your little spiel thing will be good. Keep your head up and be confident :) STONEWALL WAS A RIOT

I forgot about the link when I first replied ^^;
It was a very good read and not condescending at all in my opinion. I think it's good for anyone to read. Especially if it gets you two to discuss it. There might certainly be some points in it she doesn't agree with, but not everyone needs to agree on everything. Just like it says at the end. ![]() ♥ Never be afraid to be yourself ♥ Want to see my art or webcomic? Serra's Art Gallery A Neko's Quest | My Closet Kitsune's Haven Image courtesty of tsukiko

ps @Espy: Your response was an answer to my question. Don't worry about making a big lengthy post. ;3 @Darky: I have been saying this a lot but: Thank you! If you ever need me to pray for you let me know. =) @Serra: I am super lucky in respect to the fact they do not want to shun me or any other harsh rejection. Their love is touching despite my bumping heads with them. -conflicting emoticons here-

Technically that would not be a good source since it is written or whatever by people trying to defend themselves....which means it could be biased. I only mention this because they might refuse to read it once they see that. But they're (your family) is biased too technically .-.
But the bible does say that MALE homosexuality is wrong. I've never seen anything about females though (you're not a female, but I could have a point here). It says males should not lay with males like one would lay with a woman. It doesn't say the opposite for women. So women can be gay. So maybe the bible was written with inspiration from God, but a human felt like the needed to put their two cents in. Women were property so they didn't bring in the money or anything...they were only good for cleaning cooking and being baby factories. So maybe the part about that was written from the perspective of a certain human male who knew he needed children so they could grow up and take care of him when he's old since there was nothing to help them except for children. So it might not be from God. Also, the bible written by God? Maybe the version he wanted is somewhere, but the church voted on what books got into the bible-you might want to tell them that too. Not that their belief is wrong, but that...maybe...there is more that God wanted us to know, but those before us decided to cut out. Sorry for the incredibly long....whatever it is.
