[Duryn]

Watches quietly, stomach full of butterflies as she goes down the line of sacrifices... the nervousness and fear become worse when it is his turn...he almost second guesses this.. but it has to be done and he has to go through with it, or he will be gone, for good.
He takes his place, after taking her hand, and closes his eyes, trying to calm his mind.

"I will see you in a few moments, my love. I didn't want to ask this of you.. but the gods are giving me no choice.." he smiles at her, reassuring her.

[Kenly]

Placing a soft kiss on his lips, she nodded. Guiding him to their son, she nudged him.

"Open your eyes and gaze upon the single most important item in your waking life. Keep him in your heart and in your mind as you pass from this plane to the next. Keep him near to your consciousness to remind you why you must come back to us. I can't raise him without his father..."

Leading him gently back to the side of the tub, she gently urged him to bend forward. With tears in her eyes and a severe shake in her hand, she drew the blade quickly across his throat, finishing the last bit of the spell.

As his body bled out and gave its last drop of life-blood to the pool of crimson within the tub, she sank to her knees, sobbing from the power thrumming through her body and the horror at what she had just done, even though she knew he would soon be coming back to her.

After what felt like an eternity of cradling the lifeless form of him, she gently laid Duryn's cold body upon the floor and scooted to the counter, quickly rinsing the blood from her hands. Shaking, she pulled Lukas from his swing and cradled him to her as she sat in a heap on the floor.

All they could do now was wait.

[Duryn]

Experienced sudden darkness.... entering into the spirit world, still able to see through to the other side, only with a grey haze over it.
He watched Kenly and Lukas, becoming lost in thought.
He felt a pull off into the darkness somewhere, as if he needed to go beyond where he was... but he looked back to Lukas.. remembering why he was here to begin with.
He headed back...the pool of blood beginning to ripple as his body is re-formed, his original body coming back to a solid state.

[Kenly]

Rocking gently back and forth, she softly sang to Lukas in elven, her native language. She wasn't sure if she could ever forgive herself for what she'd done, if this didn't work. If it didn't work, she'd just murdered her lover- and her child's father.

Glancing at the ornate clock reflected in the mirror behind the tub, she sighed again. It had been almost six hours. How long was this supposed to take?

As she settled back down, despite the fact that her bottom had gone numb hours ago, she thought she had heard a sound coming from near the tub. Could that be her imagination? After all, the only other sounds in the room were the incessant ticking of the clock and the intermittent random sounds of her sleeping son.

[Duryn]

Goes into darkness again as he settles back into his body, eyes opening, taking in a deep breath, even though it isn't necessary. He rises out of the blood, lines of his trailing off of his body, his dark hair slick with it as well.
He takes a moment to regain his wits, looking over to his family, needing a moment before he tries to stand.

[Kenly]

Certain she was hearing something now, she looked at the tub. Gasping, she watched him rise from the pool of blood as if he were some mystical being. He was covered in the red liquid from head to toe, every inch of him. He was frightening, and beautiful, to behold. She was afraid to speak, worrying it was a dream or hallucination and that sound would shatter the precarious balance that had created it.

[Duryn]

He stands, carefully getting out of the tub, looking at her and gives one of his famous smiles.
He watches as his elven body seems to simply de-materalize in a flash of divine light before their very eyes, leaving the clothing and jewelry behind.
He moves over, grabbing the ankh and places it about his neck. He moves over to help Kenly up, and to comfort her and hug her tight.. "Told you."

[Kenly]

She didn't care that she was being covered in blood, just that she could touch him, that she had done things right. Holding Lukas out to the side so he could avoid most of the crimson mess, she leaned up and kissed Duryn.
"I'm so glad you're back. I was getting worried. You really need a shower, though."

[Duryn]

Holds her tight. "I will take one in a moment, then I need to hunt."

[Kenly]

Smiling and nodding, she gestured at Lukas, who was awake again and cooing at them.
"Perhaps we should get him back to sleep and we can share a shower. Then we can drop him off at home with Tiri and the sitter and I can go with you. That took a lot out of me..."

[Duryn]

Nods to her, smiling. "Sounds like a plan to me. It's a necessity but it will be fun, I think."

[Kenly]

Moving away from him to put Lukas back in his bouncy chair, after pulling wipes from the diaper bag and remove the little bits of blood from him, she cooed back at the baby and handed him his pacifier. Looking back over her shoulder at Duryn a few more times, she used the bouncy chair to swing Lukas back and forth gently until he fell asleep once more.
"Okay, he's asleep again."
Turning fully around to face her lover, she looked him up and down once more. Completely naked before her, the blood didn't detract from the beauty of him. She was quite pleased, in fact, to see that all it really did was accentuate his natural allure. After thinking about it for a moment, she realized how creepy that thought was, but also how very vampire it was.

[Duryn]

Simply smiles at her, watching her put Lukas back to sleep, leaning close to give her a soft kiss. He was glad to be back with his family, so he would be able to experience more time with Kenly, and he would be able to be a father to Lukas. He would make sure to keep them safe above all others.
He also enjoyed the look Kenly was giving him, he winked, before turning around to go to the shower stall to start up the water, turning the hot on first.

[Kenly]

Sighing, she peered over the side of the tub, expecting a huge mess to have to have cleaned. To her surprise, the only things left from the ritual were the talismans and the stubs of the candles. The other physical elements were utterly gone. The bottom of the tub was as clean as before they started.
"Are you going to wear those clothes?" She asked as she pointed at the pile on the floor.

[Duryn]

Finishes getting the water ready as he looks back, staring for a moment at the pile of clothes, he shakes his head. "I don't want to. My ankh is one thing but...yeah.."
He steps into the shower, getting the loufa lathered with body wash, letting the water help drown out the sound of the loud music and heartbeats he is hearing of the patrons of the club.

[Kenly]

Allowing him to get most of the blood off, she undressed and dropped her clothes in a heap in the corner. She was glad she always left clothes here.

Climbing into the shower behind him, she reached over his shoulder and took the loufa, re-lathered it and started washing the crimson from his back.

"You're going to need to wash your hair at least three times, I'd wager."
