[Duryn]

Duryn entered the derelict building, maneuvering easily down the hallway, even though there was no light.
He made his way to the main room, avoiding debris here and there, stepping over pieces in the hallway, moving at a casual pace.
He hadn't been here since it happened...avoiding this building because of the pain...

He entered the main room, spotting the metal table in the middle, a beam of moonlight shining down onto it from a broken skylight... still covering the table were ashes... as if it were the same day of his death still..

He could not believe they were still there..
He moved to the table, gathering all of the ashes into a sealed container, making sure to get all of them into it, placing the containter into the bag he is carrying.

This helped the progress in his plan...he had his ashes, now he needed to figure out how to do the rest... theoretically with enough blood and possibly magic they could be brought back together, into the body they once were.

He took the contents and began heading back out of this abandoned building, on his way to his penthouse, pulling his cellphone out and dialing Kenly's number on the way.

[Kenly]

Picking up her phone, she pushed the speaker button as her other hand was full of the fussing Lukas. It was time for his bottle and she wasn't getting it fast enough for him, apparently.

"What did you need, lover? Your son is not appreciating your interruption of his dinner."

She couldn't keep the smile out of her voice as she said the words 'your son'. Her daughter, on the other hand, was already tucked into bed, watching one of her favorite movies before she was to go to sleep. It was her bedtime ritual, when she wasn't prophesying and creeping everyone out...

[Duryn]

Smiles even though she can't see it as he gets into his car, putting the bag in the passenger seat and starting the engine and beginning to head back home.
"I gathered all of ...my ashes, what do we do next?"

[Kenly]

Finally getting the baby his bottle, she laid him down in his crib. The sound of Duryn's voice as he told her what he had done unsettled her. Just the idea of it all unsettled her. She knew there was little else to do, though. His time was running out.

"Bring them to the office. You have the other things, too?"

[Duryn]

Continues down the street towards the office of his club, a little faster than necessary, "I think so, what else did I need again?"

[Kenly]

Moving about the apartment, she tried to remember everything the ancient scroll said they'd need.

"At least five gallons of fresh human blood..."

She shook her head. She didn't like the idea of having to have so much fresh blood. It meant that at least six people would have to die because they just didn't have the time, or the ability, to have close to forty people volunteer a pint or two of blood.

"Soil from the place of your birth into darkness..."

She knew he had taken a vacation recently to his ancestral home for the sole purpose of collecting at least a pound of earth from the location. He had been working toward this end for months now.

"The Right Eye of Isis and the Left Eye of Anubis..."

She'd never heard of either talisman until they had found this scroll. The Isis stone was a clear, vibrant topaz and the Anubis stone was a deep shining amethyst. It had taken them months of relentless searching to find each pendant. The Eye of Isis they had to relieve a prestigious museum of, in fact.

"And... Something personal, other than your ashes."

This last one made sense to her, as his spirit would need something to cling to, to want to return to. She shuddered at the idea of what he might have chosen.

[Duryn]

Looks at all of the collected things next to him, in the bag as she lists them off, taking another turn, almost at the club. He remembered how much fun it was to get the one amulet from the museum, and how surreal it was to re-visit his homeland...

"I have everything except the blood..." he didn't like the idea of it either but... it had to be done. "I'll have to gather them after we get everything else in place and ready, I just don't know who I'm going to get. Does it matter what type of person the blood comes from?"

[Kenly]

She hated the reply she had for him, as she had been doing some additional research while he'd been away.

"You only need five... You have to be one of them. As for who, I don't think it matters."

Walking about, she stopped at the desk, rummaging about the top for the number of the girl they used as a regular babysitter. They were going to need her this night.

[Duryn]

Pulls into the back parking lot, shutting the car off. "I'll be to the office in a minute. Oh and Kenly.. bring Lukas for the personal thing.. I can't think of anything stronger to cling to life for. After we get everything together I'll get the blood."
He gathered the bag of things and got out of the car, heading to the service entrance, punching in the security code and heading up the side stairs to the office, which is overlooking the rest of the club.

[Kenly]

Closing her eyes, she cursed to herself. She knew he was going to ask for either herself or his son. Both worried her as she wasn't sure what the personal item was going to be used for, exactly. The scroll had been rather vague about that.

"Ok... I'll bring the scroll down with me, too. Then we can get moving. Right after I call the babysitter, anyway."

Pausing, she breathed deeply, something she did without thought, even though she didn't need to anymore.

"I love you. Be careful."

[Duryn]

Smiles even though she can't see it as he lays things out on the table that was set out specifically for this. He kept wishing that the scroll came with an instruction manual, it never explained if these items would be used up when the ritual is complete.
"Love you too.. see you in a few moments."

[Kenly]

Pushing the button to end their call, she punched in the numbers for the babysitter. Once the young lady picked up, she explained that they needed her at that very moment. She apologized profusely about the short notice and offered the girl double her usual pay to get there as soon as possible.

After getting off the phone with the girl, she moved about getting Lukas' diaper bag ready and dressing him for the outing. She hated the idea of taking him out in the evening air, being as paranoid as most young mothers.

Giving the girl instructions on how much longer Tiri was allowed to stay up and when she was hoping to be home, she bustled her and their baby boy out the door and down two flights of stairs. In the stairwell, she made a tight left and scooted quickly down the hall, trying to get the baby out of the thumping din of the nightclub's atmosphere as soon as possible.

Turning to look at Duryn from the door, she had worry in her eyes.

"Are you sure we're going to be able to get everything to the dig site? Or do you want to go with plan B and use the tub in the back room? I'm just thinking about the baby, the weather, and interruptions."

[Duryn]

Looks to her as she arrives. "I agree, let's go with the tub in the back room. It will probably be the best location." he makes sure to gather the things up again, waiting for her to lead the way.

[Kenly]

Nodding, she moved through the office and into the back room. Setting the diaper bag on the counter, she pulled Lukas' bouncer seat along with her, placing him in it. Opening the diaper bag, she pulled out the scroll and un-raveled it onto the counter top beside the diaper bag.

"Put them out on the edge of the tub there." She pointed to the large lip around the equally large tub.

As she looked over the scroll, she found what she was looking for. A diagram. Pointing at each item in turn, she explained to him that the Eye of Isis needed to be on the north edge of the tub, and the Eye of Anubis to the southern edge. A red candle was to be place to the east and a black to the west. Once he had them in place, she told him to sprinkle all the soil across the bottom of the tub, making sure all the artificial surface of it was covered with the dirt. Next he was to carefully place the ashes of his former self in the center of the bottom of the tub.

"...Finally, we need the blood, and we can get started..."

[Duryn]

Listens to her, placing each item according to the diagram, starting with the Eye of Isis at the north of the tub, the Eye of Anubis at the south, grabbing the red candle and the black, placing them correctly at their positions. He sprinkles the soil of his homeland in the bottom of the tub, covering the bottom of it before slowly spreading his ashes next.

He heads out of the room to gather the blood.. wanting to seed out the filth of society to sacrifice. He heads towards a side door, using his abilities to find the victims, finding a gang of low lifes loitering in the alley way, he looks to each one, ignoring their threats, locking eyes and be-spelling each one to follow him without question... hurrying because it wouldn't last long.

He enters the room, the four men in tow.

Blinking as he walked in with the men, she shuddered. She wished she wasn't so magically adept. She didn't want to be the one to perform this ritual. She was glad she had fed that evening, just as the sun was going down. She knew she would want to feed rather than sacrifice once things got started...

Shaking her head to stop thinking about it, she pointed wordlessly to the only open edge of the tub. Pulling the ritual blade from the diaper bag, she moved toward the line of men. She had memorized the chant, could recite it in her sleep if she had to.

Moving to the first man, she bent him over the tub and as she slit his throat, she said the first part of the rite.
"To the goddess Isis, I offer this blood offering in hopes that you will be pleased and bless this resurrection."

Allowing the man to bleed until nothing more came, she pushed his body out of the way and took the next man by the hair, holding him over the tub next.
"To the god Anubis, I offer this blood sacrifice in hopes that you will be pleased and see fit to return that whom I call forth."

Allowing him also to bleed out, she disposed of his body and dropped it atop the first. Before taking the next man, she lit the red candle, then expressionlessly slit his throat as well.
"To the watchers of the east I present this gift of life that you will preside over this rite and keep us safe."

Disposing of his body the same as the other two, she lit the last, black candle, before taking the last man and slicing him from ear to ear. "To the keepers of the west I give you this ill-gotten bounty in sumissive repetance for our mis-deeds on this night."

Once his body was empty of blood, she was left with her lover. This was the hardest part for her; having to kill him. Holding her hand out to him, slick and red with the blood of the others, she knew this was the 'do or die' time. The circle had been set, the old gods had been called. All that was left was to end his life in this body to finish the physical part of the ritual.
