he was slower to follow though when he did manage to get under the shade of the umbrella jorden was looking a lot more perky and rifling through the cooler once more

He chugged the water as if it were the last drink he would get and noticed when the boy finally joined him. He raised a bottle to him. "wanna build a sand castle?"

he wanted to go home but he knew that was not going to happen and settled on just sitting under the umbrella and making gestures for the other to get him a drink

As he got the drink he saw the others face and frown. "Alright skittles what do you want to do?"

the words were on the tip of his tongue but he knew better than to say them. he knew jordon was trying especially after swimming out to sea like that. saying nothing he shrugged

He studied the boy. "Clauncy if you shrug at my next question I will push you in to the ocean with the crab, now what do you really want to do?"

he gave the other boy a sour look as he tilted his head up enough to look him in the eye, "i want to go home but you have gone out of your way to make this fun and i am not much for pissing on parades"

He looked away from Skittles, getting the truth hurt worse then he thought it would. "It is not fun if you are unhappy." Rising from his spot he started to put things back in the cooler.

waiting until everything was packed and the other had time to mull he finally spoke up, "it isn't something i like doing but i did enjoy parts of it. you certainly try hard enough i just don't like the sun. we can hang out but not at the beach under a blistering summer sun"

"What are you saying? Wrong answer but I like your enthusiasm?" He shook his head letting it go. "Come on we can go find food on the board walk before we go back."

the short answer made him feel a little angry but he deserved it and so he let it go and so apparently did the other boy. shrugging he wiped as much sand from himself as he could before finding his shoes and following behind while jordon took the cooler to the car. they did not go back for the blanket or umbrella before heading towards the boardwalk. he figured the other wanted to bring the food back but did not bother asking

Since the boy did not like the beach he sought to make sure he liked the food. He tugged a shirt over his body and put on some flip flops easily avoiding the no shirt no shoes rule. "You pick where we eat."

the words sounded angry so he did not bitch and mutely led the other to the concessions. when they made it he asked what the other would like and got no reply. he tried to not get angry and looking around saw breaded meatballs on skewers. picking that he got them both one and as they were walking away he tried one more time to cheer the other up, "i'll eat your stick, loser say what?"

He turned and looked at the boy flushing some what confused and managed not to say anything. Clearing his throat he stepped close to the boy. His face fell into a grin. His lips fell close to the others ear. "Its not a stick its a corndog, and I hope you brought ketchup."

it seemed to have worked though he was not too positive if he was certain this new mood was any better, "no...they are balls, and i think mayo would be better"

"Ew...Who eats Mayo on a corn dog?" Inspired by their conversation, just to pass the time he walked over to the vendor and bought two breaded wieners on a stick. He handed one to Skittles before taking a ketchup packet out. "The red sauce taste better man." He said drenching the tip before devouring the tip. He moistened the breading a little, sucking up the very condiment he applied. He one long lick, Jordon devoured the entire stick of meat biting at its base and pulling a clean stuck from between his teeth. He chewed, swallowing a little before speaking again. “Mayo is just gross.”
