Anyone else here played the game?

I absolutely adore this game; it was one of the first video games I ever "beat", and influenced my art-style quite a bit.

I really like the Scenario-Overlay System; I've unlocked most of the hidden areas, weapons, and cutscenes. The only thing I haven't done yet is beat Kokon Horay, and I'll be working on that once I get new PS2 controllers.


For others who've played the game, who was your favorite character to play as? Also, does Lin/Rin have a special hidden weapon? I haven't been able to find one for her, and believe me, I've searched.

I played it, and I liked it, not just because it was Breath of Fire.

The repeatable part of it, I thought was a good take on the replay systems I've seen. It let you keep some stuff without being completely OP like, say, Chrono Trigger does. Unfortunately I only ever did two playthroughs and did not get to do EVERYTHING.

I think Ryu was my favorite just because I gravitate to the "tanks" of games. I don't have access to the game anymore though...and it's been a very long time so I don't know if Rin has a hidden weapon or not.

The fact you brought Breath of Fire, my all time face game series, makes me love you more. :D

It's one of the less Liked in the series but i so much so love it. It was fun and put a new spin on a classic and well loved, though somewhat undermined as compared to other 'mainstream' games, series.

I have to say i had a time trying to beat it though. But it was well worth it.

Also, Lin was beast. :D

I haven't had a chance to play the other games, sadly. (( When I first got the game, I wasn't aware that it was a series. >.< ))

I love the names of Lin's attacks. "Hey Hey!" .... and right under it was "Listen". XD
