He looked back at her a bit oddly before laughing weakly. "please say you didn't really waste three days trying to find me when I wasn't even hiding.. " Though he guessed he could see the trouble in finding one dryad in the forest they had left, it was one of the largest remaining forests, well largest that still held magic anyway.

"if that's all you need, there's a small collection of trees near here.. we'll go there to at least be out of sight for the most part." Also it was probably safer then just resting where they were at, just probably though. Once they got to the spot he spoke of he sighed a little putting a hand on one of the trees. He never said a word about what he was thinking though it was probably written on his face that this place upset him a little.

Dalea blushed. "No. I wasn't just looking for you. I had other creatures to visit." She had checked on a pixie and wandering elf before she came to him. Then she blinked and looked at him, then looked at the patch of trees. That made her smile, she was looking forward to resting.

When they got there, her wings sprung out from her back again and fluttered excitedly. She was confused as to her sudden mood lift, but went with her instincts. It led her to a small tree in the center of the small group of trees. "Look, Var! Its a sapling." She'd rarely seen saplings in present day. They were rare to grow back on their own.

"hrm.. your a strange one.." walk over to where she was with the sapling. "this type shouldn't even be growing here." He seemed to tilt his head a little at the thought. "it'd require a mother tree for the seed but there's none here.. though i guess odds could have it a bird .. but still it shouldn't be growing here." Not that it was a bad thing but it worried him a little, the sapling may not survive the weather here.

"Eh maybe there's hope yet for the world.. though i somehow doubt it." What annoyed him more is if he had the powers from ages ago this tree would make it.. just for the fact it was so far from home. Though he sighed a little before looking around at the other greenery of this area. Would he do something if he could? Maybe, though he knew the fate of this little lush area.

The fairy looked at Var, confused, but then her happiness returned and she laid near the sapling. As she slept her energy would return to her and any plant would benefit from it. Her mother thought this a worthless thing because they slept underground and for such a short time.

Even noticing her confused look he wasn't going to explain what he meant by his random chatter about the tree. It was meant for the warmer lands not here. It would be lucky if it survived. Though he couldn't really worry about it seeing as he had no control over if it lived or not. Not yet anyway, maybe if this journey turned out well he could come back here.

For now all he could do was wait. If he was lucky the elders wouldn't punish him for the vows he broke, but he wasn't sure really. Tales of this forest where the dryad capital was.. were mostly just legends anymore. No one had reported being to the place in years. The thought of going was almost laughable. A fools quest, though what choice did he have, returning to the forest was out of the question.

Let alone he doubted this fairy would let him turn around so easily.. what did she really hope to gain from helping him. Even if they made it there he'd be a simple dryad, if not soon to be a dead one once the elders heard or rather got a hold of him. If the elders really were there still they already knew..

Dalea slept with a soft smile on her face. She was dreaming of the past civilization that was once here. Life was everywhere and trees were tall and healthy. A full assortment of creatures roamed under the lushious canopy. If Var had paid attention, he could see that she was dreaming and as she did, she drew strength from the pleasent dreams. She glowed ever so softly and little streams of light came from her finger tips and into the ground.

He was half paying attention, though his mind was busy on other thoughts. The further he went from his tree the weaker he'd get and he knew it. Even if there was a seed or a sapling of it near it'd hardly help in the long run.. it was probably why the journey to the capital was never recommended.. it would take a long time if the traveling dryad had to replant the tree they were bound to.. let alone that the ability to do so was lost now.

After a while he did settle down with his back against a tree her had been near. He couldn't say he really feared death.. not when it would just be returning to the earth. Though he did fear it at the same time, in his forest he had a purpose at the least something to protect. Here he had too much damn free time to think.

Though the soft glow from the resting fairy was enough to distract his mind from the thoughts he was having. To admit it he had never seen something like this happen before. Though on that note he had never watched a fairy sleep either as creepy as it seemed now.

Dalea woke about an hour and a half later, the tree had grown six inches and was sprouting leaves. She blinked at it, then smiled brightly and giggled happily. She leaned into the plant and could see little insects starting to use the plant as home. She looked up at Var and smiled. "Look, it grew!"

Flinching from her sudden outburst seeing as he had turned and stopped paying attention to her sleeping state. He was about to ask if she had lost it finally though he couldn't seeing as she wasn't lying about the sapling growing a bit. "heh.. next time yell a bit louder." Though out of curiosity he did move back over towards her and the sapling. ".. anything else I should know before this journey goes much further? Making things grow isn't a common ability.."

"Well, that depends. I have many many secrets. What would you like to know?" She was just messing with him now, but there was no lie in her voice. She did have powers that other fairies didn't, but what those powers were and their origin were secret.

"it was a joke.. if I ask anything of you i'd feel obliged to provide you with a answer to a question of your own. Personally I'd rather not." He shrugged a little but had a point in his words.

"either way if your done with your nap we should get moving again. But if your not ready we can stay a bit longer I don't think you were glowing bright enough to draw attention." He smiled slightly picking at her a little, she'd probably make him regret those words later and he knew it.

Dalea's eyes looked mischievous. But she smiled and hopped up, gliding down the last couple inches to land on her feet. "Well, lets shove off. Can't waste any more time than we have to." She'd remember every word he'd said, for future reference.

"Eh im sure you have plenty of time to waste" He shrugged a little before he started to walk off already hardly waiting for her in the least. Though truth be told he had been use to being alone by now so waiting on someone was wasn't in his habits anymore. Though he did still have a few odd thoughts on ways to lose her so she wasn't following him for the whole trip.

Dalea wandered behind him sometimes, then others beside him. She never got in front of him because she couldn't keep an eye on him that way. She blinked once she thought of something and flew up next to him. "Hey. I'm curious. How do you know where you're going?"

He laughed slightly at her question "in truth.. I don't. I'm going on this based off of tales and stories I've heard over the years... I have a general idea where to go.. but I can't really promise it's the right direction." He shrugged slightly. "you still have time to leave while you have the chance, I can already tell you that more then likely we'll cross a few human towns we won't be able to avoid ... and most likely we won't go undetected.." He seemed to shrug tat off as well though.
