"naga.. thats a name i've not heard of in quite some time.. though the last encounter i had with any was dreadfully annoying to say the least." He seemed to shudder a little at the thought. He looked at her with a slight hint of annoyance present in his face. "this hardly means we're friends hope you know that.." With that he moved to walk around her, it seemed to make him a little nervous with her in front as she was, even if she was keeping up with his pace.

Though for his kind he was a bit of a odd one, males being among 3-5% of the races population total and then he hardly acted like any dryad you read about in the history books. They were always depicted as wise, easy going, only hostile when provoked or the grove they guarded was in danger. How ever.. he seemed more rash and quick to temper, let alone the word wise didn't seem to be in his vocabulary aside from maybe wise ass.

Dalea blinked from the lack of respect that he'd shown. She kept pace with him again, looking at him oddly. "I don't think I will ever be your friend, but it will not be because of my lack of effort." She said grumpily. She wasn't in the mood to be overly sweet anymore. She was going to be herself now. She hated acting the way she had, but she'd needed to know if it would work.

"eh maybe, maybe not. I'm not seer thats damn sure." He shrugged slightly at the thought. Though he picked up on her tone right away as he smirked slightly. "no need to pout over there, if you had been shot with a spell and dragged off to await your fate I think you'd be a bit cross with the world as well." Really this whole time he was hopeful she'd grow bored and leave or at least get annoyed and leave, one of the two. Though he was hardly trying if it was known.

"so what family do you hail from then... " He noticed the odd look from her. "guards of the fairies hardly over look someone with a prisoner unless they are of a high ranked family.. so for the sake of a friendlier conversation..." He seemed to tilt his head a little she didn't have to answer he didn't care if she did or not.

Dalea said nothing to him about her mood. But soon cheered up, but looked solumn at the same time. "My mother is the head of the fairy council." She left it at that. It wasn't like she was going back and all he could do was tell someone, if they ever came across anyone. She could protect herself if need be.

She did feel bad about what she'd done, but he couldn't assume that he was protecting the glade. She had to assume that he was out to harm, not protect. If she'd figured out he was innocent, then he wouldn't be harmed. Which, this was her way of making sure of it.

He gave her a odd look when she spoke again. "... strange" he never said another word about it, though maybe there was a slight bit of hope if even the top families had ones who were entirely blind to the world and it's changes. Though that might be asking a bit much still. He had no reason to go back and tell on her, hell he had no real intention of returning to the grove if he had a say in it. Though he wasn't sure he did or not.

The lands outside of the forest that they knew as home was far different, flat in most of the areas here and covered in farmlands or just barren altogether. Though there were areas in the distance where human settlements could be seen. Though he was making a point to avoid them unless otherwise needed. "You'll have to speak up when your tired you know. Not sure how fairy sleep cycles work but I know it differs from ours." Seeing as the dryads were living plants so to speak they hardly slept, mainly during the colder months. Though this fact known.. would make traveling along the snowy region all the more annoying.

Dalea blinked at him, then shook her head and ignored his weird expressions. What was so strange about that? Did she not fit the ideal fairy heir profile? She sighed softly and watched the senery change as they went. She saw the nearby city and smiled slightly to herself. Her old friend lived there. She was a nurse there. The best in her hospital, thus her ability being healing.

She looked back at Var when he spoke and blinked slightly. "We sleep little. Since we are so tiny and only eat plants, we don't need much sleep. An hour or two at most."

"Good means this trip should be over before you know it, or you could look at it from the other view and that nearly 24-7 of every day till this is over you have to deal with your choice of company." He shrugged slightly before laughing at the thought, though truth be told he had no intention of this trip being a success. Even with her around the odds of getting through the fire and ice plains were very slim.. the thought they'd have to cross them twice wasn't something he looked forward to.

Though he seemed to run out of his talkative mood as the sun slowly begin to leave the sky. Though really he had just run out of witty comments to say by this point. Plus the fact he was toiling over his thoughts still. He had no plan, he had no real idea where the grove he was looking for was .. aside from the fact that it was beyond the plains of fire and ice. Even if he manged to get there what then? The elders hardly were friendly towards those who broke the vows, he'd probably be punished on the spot for it.

"I don't mind dealing with you. If I did, I wouldn't have tagged along." When he turned to a less talkative state, she started to ignore him a little. She studied the landscape while they went. After awhile, she got an idea and landed, starting to walk on her bare feet. She loved the feeling of being able to feel the soft hum of the earth. It was much quieter than it used to be, but it was still alive and kicking. Dalea was in a good mood for the most part. Especially when the stars started to appear. She went in to a eternal smile sort of look, like nothing could anger her.

Even though he was being silent he was far from inactive in his mind, too many thoughts to tell the truth. The fact that the mountains would be a pain was only half of it. They had to get there. One such task was dealing with a rumored kingdom that laid in the way. He disliked the thoughts of dealing with humans but it seemed it wasn't avoidable. Plus it was known certain groups did not take well to magical beings, looking down upon them even.

Even with the fairy and himself a group of well armed humans could be a issue.. there were ways to bind the magical beings and their powers. For the time being he kept this thought to himself. No point in bringing it up to her, not yet.

Dalea paused all of a sudden when he just kept on walking. She blinked and stared over to the right of them. There was a girl standing near the them that she'd just noticed. It had been a good thing that she'd hidden her wings before she had seen her. "Var.." She called to him without looking away from the child.

He stopped hearing the fairy speak as he turned to look at her. "what now?" He asked before following her gaze noticing the small child. He stood there for a moment before shrugging slightly. "it's just a child, leave it be and lets go." He was still in the wood elf form that he had never left from the first meeting so he hardly looked out of place to a human, though he did notice the fact she had her wings hidden, that simplified things a bit.

Dalea looked at Vor and blinked as he started to walked away. "But, she's all alone." She thought for a moment, then headed towards the girl. The girl looked up and her eyes got large. Dalea stopped a few feet from her. "Do not worry. I won't hurt you. What're you doing here all alone." The girl slowly smiled and walked up to her. "I'm a pixie, fairy child. Don't worry, as long as you keep it from the dryad, I'll help you out." Dalea blinked, confused. She'd always been warned to be wary of pixie deals. She nodded slowly and cocked her head to the side. "What sort of help can you provide me?" The pixie giggled and held out her hand, dropping a small necklace into Dalea's hand. It looked like a plain leather rope with a woodcarved pendent. She looked confused, but the pixie spoke up. "Wear it and you'll be safe through your journeys." She then turned and walked away. Dalea was stuck staring after her and looked at the necklace. She shrugged and hung it around her neck, then caught up with Var.

Once she caught up he sighed a little "see was it so hard leaving her there?" It seemed a bit cold true, but he wasn't one to give kindness to those who so willingly destroy the place he once called home. Though he did use to.. back when the peace was held between the races. Those years were long past now. He never gave the child much more thought as they walked, it never bothered him in the least when it came right down to it.

Dalea gave him a cold look, but soon ignored him. She fingered the pendent as they went and soon became tired. She tried not to show it, but anyone could tell by the way she drug her feet slightly. She was still watching the sky though. She'd never really gone this far away from home before and didn't know how long it would take to get to this dryad haven of Vor's.

"You know.. I said tell me if you get tired" He didn't really direct the question to her, though it was seeing as she was the only other person there. But he could hear the way she was walking. Though he figured she might go about being stubborn saying she was fine and try to push forward. "I could be wrong though" He shrugged a little. "your choice if we stop now or later, just remember out here there is a chance later might not happen."

Dalea blinked at the dryad, then sighed and nodded. "Yes, I'm tired. I've been patoling for three days before I even found you." She rubbed her face a little, trying to wake up. "Maybe...we could stop for just an hour?" She hated asking for rest when he seemed just fine, but she didn't feel like she could keep going without passing out.
