I think 1940s might be closer, there were mention of Nazi's and if you are correct about the car it would explain how they were able to get away with such a medieval medical treatment.

I absolutely adored the costuming. The time period was hard to figure out, but I believe you are correct in saying it's sometime in the 1940s.
Rocket was quite possibly my favorite. | ||||

Costuming wise I enjoyed Sweetpea's in fantasy world costume. Dance wise, I liked the teachers. Her corsets were beautiful.
