"I keep telling you to stop worrying, tsk.. fucking bandits are hardly something to worry about." He shrugged a little. "Hell they might as well consider it lucky i was in a good mood, they still have their breath." Really that was saying something for him to go through the trouble of leaving them alive. "besides i was trying to stay out of trouble, not my fault there are idiots in the world willing to attack a dark elf that's armed."

Though her next words were a bit of a taunt, he was about to call her out on being a tease but didn't. She was right this wasn't the place, plus his plan wasn't to get her in trouble. Though it would seem the luck they had up until now had run dry.

After Judith left both sides seemed to refrain from moving, let alone speaking as they watched one another. If it weren't for the fact that Rhyldrin didn't want to be on bad terms with this very person a fight could have broken out at any second. Though he wasn't sure that one wasn't still going to break out, this man clearly did not like what he had just walked into and there was no hiding any of it now. Before at the least they could just say they knew one another.. but clearly there was more going on then that.

"You again.." the man seemed to hiss out towards Rhyldrin, still clearly showing he wasn't happy with this situation. "I knew she was sneaking out and it seemed odd it stopped the moment you weren't around, I know why now." He went on to say, though the tension between these two was still thick enough to cut with a knife. Though Rhyldrin seemed to refrain from speaking, what was he suppose to say, anything could set this guy off.

"Why are you hanging around my daughter!" He snapped finally, the sudden outburst nearly caused Rhyldrin to jump, though he refrained from doing so as he seemed to think of what to even say to that. "Just as a friend... if it'll spare her any trouble I'll stop seeing her. I was simply checking that she was ok." He seemed to keep his voice calm and level while giving as respectable a answer as he could to the furious male before him, he didn't need a fight to start between a light and dark elf, not over this.

Geoffrey frowned a bit listening before snapping again. "why would that matter to you?" Rhyldrin had to laugh slightly, that was almost too easy. "We'll just say I've tried to watch out for her since we were children.." He wasn't trying to mock the guy but it was the truth, really if it weren't for that he doubted he really have bonded with her at all over these years.

The other man seemed to question this before putting a few things together. "You.. you were the one when she was a child that she snuck out to see as well?!" Rhyldrin nodding a little though his ears dropped a little. "I know she got in trouble for it.. I got my fair share of that deal as well.. heh" He swore his goal wasn't to get her in trouble but this would be at least twice now wouldn't it.

Geoffrey seemed to grow quite for a moment, having calmed down a little as well as he thought over things. He just wanted to protect his only daughter, the last he had of his family. But she had put her trust in the very person before him for so many years, why what was it about him that she was drawn to. He took a few steps from the house so whatever else he had to say wouldn't be heard if Judith was trying to listen.

"Mind telling me the truth now? Saying your just friends isn't going to cut it dark elf.. I may not know whats going on but I am her father.. and I know very well her mood changes when your around." His words scared Rhyldrin a little in truth, he wasn't expecting the man to out right tell him to spit out whats really going on.

He wasn't even sure how to word this, he needed to tell him, he pretty much seemed to know the basis of what was going on so it might as well be now or never. "Sir.. " He sighed a little. "Your right I did lie before, I was trying to prevent any blame of us speaking falling upon her." Geoffrey crossed his arms and seemed to be getting impatient. "Well then out with it, you have something else you want to say and your not saying it, I've been alive longer then you have, it's easy to read body language even with someone who's hiding it."

Rhyldrin wasn't sure he liked this guy too much if he could see through that, though he finally gave in knowing there wasn't a way of getting out of saying what he needed to say now. "It's.. about your daughter, Judith. " He paused a moment trying to word this as best as he could without stepping over his boundaries. "I.. I want to ask for her hand, and your blessing on the request." He said before kneeling in front of the man.

In almost the same movement he had drawn a blade out holding it handle first towards Geoffrey. "If you disregard this request please just strike me down here and now." The two seemed to fall silent, Rhyldrin was being dead serious in he request for both parts as he waited to see what action the man would take.

"She means that much, you'd give your life?" He seemed to question this concept a little thinking it over in his mind. "My life is nothing, not without her." Geoffrey seemed to still think on these answers, sure his distaste for dark elves was known well enough, but he also knew Judith was happier whenever this one was around.

"Put your blade away and stand." He said flatly before he seemed to eye Rhyldrin over still debating his thoughts. "You better make her happy.. if i hear otherwise I'll make sure to make your life a living hell while you still draw breath dark elf.. " he growled out a little before walking towards the house and going inside. Rhyldrin wasn't sure but that was probably as close to a yes as he was going to get.

Once Geoffrey was inside he glared at Judith. "what are you doing trying to listen to other's conversations! I raised you better then that." He never gave any hint at all to the conversation he had with Rhyldrin, he didn't really want to give the dark elf the permission he asked for, but he knew that Judith was happy with him or at least being around him.

Despite her father possibly wanting her to go to her room Judith remained in the kitchen. She lingered by the back door quietly, her ears perked up as she tried to listen to their conversation. It felt as if her head was going to explode at any moment, what was going to happen now? Of course Judith knew of her father's dislike for Dark Elves more than any other person in the world. When she tried to imagine what he would say to her when he later confronted her it made her nervous. What would she say? What would she do? She would be a nervous wreck when he finally brought himself to speak to her. That was if he could even bare to look at her anymore after what he had seen, her being so close to Rhyldrin like that.

Judith pulled herself away from the back door as she heard someone approaching. Her eyes searched the kitchen for a reason to give for why she was still downstairs rather than up in her room hiding from everyone. She went to the kitchen table, perhaps she still had some time to retreat to her room upstairs. Though before she could find anything or retreat from the kitchen she heard the back door creak open, then someone stepped into the house and slammed it behind them. Judith jumped a little despite expecting it, she reluctantly looked towards the door. Her ears fell and a nervous smile crept across her face, she wanted to speak though she held back her words.

There was something odd about her father though she couldn't really understand why she even saw that. He didn't seem as upset as she had expected him to be. He didn't go straight to the alcohol to drown himself in because of what he had seen. He was not yelling at her or breaking things like he had done when she was a child. Judith tapped her fingers on the surface of the kitchen table as she watched her father, he stood by the kitchen door and looked right back at her. The fact that he was not speaking but was managing to look at her made her feel as if she could spit up what she had had for dinner.

"I'm a lot smarter than you think I am," Judith could hear her heart pounding in her ears, she continued to watch her father despite being so nervous. She would not look away from him. "I knew that you were sneaking out at night, I knew that you were seeing a man." he stepped away from the back door then slipped off his coat and hung it on a hook by the door. He looked over at Judith. "I also happened to notice that you stopped sneaking out once that Dark Elf left." though Judith was rather pale to begin with it looked as if any color she had had drained from her face.

Geoffrey cleared his throat, when he took a step towards Judith and brought himself to stand in front of her she flinched. "I'm not going to yell at you or scold you," he breathed out a sigh. "You're a damn woman now, not a child anymore." Judith wanted to speak though she hesitated to, her father was not done speaking and she was afraid to anger him if she interrupted him. "You're the only one I have left now, Judith." his voice cracked a little though he did not cry. "I know that you're grown but you will always be my little girl and all I want is for you to be happy." a weak smile grew on Geoffrey's face, he took a step away from Judith. "If this is what makes you happy then so be it." he mumbled quietly, he looked away from Judith for a moment then brought his eyes back to her. Her ears fell, Judith could feel her body shaking. What had her father just said to her?

Her father walked away from her, Judith wanted to grab his arm and ask him to repeat what he had said though she knew what he had said. "I'm going to bed now," he said to her before retreating upstairs to his room. Judith stood silently in the kitchen, she listened to him go to his room then close the door quietly behind him. Judith's eyes went to the back door and she went to it without hesitation. She opened the door then took a step outside. Her eyes fell on Rhyldrin who still remained in the back yard. She wanted to speak though she wasn't quite sure what to say.

Rhyldrin was a little lost in his thoughts the man had said yes, he was really expecting to have his breath still at this moment with the stupid stunt he had pulled. Madaes would have killed him for the simple fact he gave someone, willingly at that, the ability to kill him. But he had no other way to really prove to Geoffrey how much Judith meant to him other then the actions he took. Whatever happened it seemed to work at the least.

Sure he heard a minor bit of talking or what sounded like talking in the house but he never bothered to move at all. He was still getting over his shock he had gotten a yes to his question. Sure he shouldn't be that shocked but given the circumstances he thought it was damn well not happening.

He was brought out of his slight daze as Judith seemed to walk outside. She just stood there though, probably terrified of whatever they had spoken about, though she'd learn sooner or later what the conversation was. Seeing as she didn't speak right away he shrugged his shoulders a little and spoke instead. "Well I guess I don't have to climb through the window anymore now." He didn't really mean to make it sound like a joke but it did in a way, though it was the truth also.

Judith almost allowed laughter to escape from her though she held it back, she was still rather nervous and unsure of what to think. All of this time she doubted that her and Rhyldrin could ever grow to be more than just secret lovers. She never thought that her father could possibly approve of their relationship but he had and it would take a bit for her to grasp it. "That is a very good point, isn't it?" she managed a smile though it was weak and probably would not last very long. It was odd to think that she no longer had to sneak Rhyldrin into her room and that she no longer had to sneak out in the middle of the night to go see Rhyldrin when he stayed at the inn.

She walked over to Rhyldrin, she brought herself to stand in front of him. "I can't believe that this is happening," she said then looked up at Rhyldrin. Judith brought her hands to rest on his shoulders, she leaned against him. "I swear if this is a dream then I do not wish to wake up from it." she laughed quietly then breathed out a quiet sigh. Judith wondered what her father could be thinking right now considering what had just happened. She doubted that he agreed with it as much as it made it seem he did to her, she knew that he was probably the last person who would accept a Dark Elf in their household.

Geoffrey really did love his daughter, enough to put aside his dislike for Dark Elves because he simply wanted to see her happy. He saw the way she behaved when she had been seeing Rhyldrin. Geoffrey knew that she had been devastated by her mother's sudden death and it was good to see Judith happy once again. Though if the Dark Elf were to fail at making his daughter happy then there would certainly be conflict between the two like he had warned Rhyldrin just moments ago.

He'd have to tell Judith one day of the true conversation that took place, but for now he needed a cover up knowing for sure she'd ask him what happened. She didn't seem worse for wear aside from nerves so whatever the man had said to her must have been good or at least for him on the terms of good. Though at the same time this marked the beginning of any true struggles they would need to face. Her father did like to drink all it would take is one time of him getting drunk and then telling his drinking buddies and word would get around that there was a dark elf courting a light elf. He nearly feared when that happened, there were enough against this on both sides.

He shook his head a little as she walked close and leaned against him speaking her mind. "Nope, pretty sure it's not a dream. If it is then this is among the worse dreams ever.. " She looked at him confused by his words. "I mean in the fact I'm still sore from walking, not what just was found out .. silly" He had moved his arms to hold her close by this point, what did he care anymore, he wasn't going to fail in keeping her happy no matter what.

Though he had to admit he had never been so nervous in his life when speaking to someone, even if the conversation went smoothly deep down he feared every reply from the other. "Don't worry about what was said.. we'll just leave it that I'm good with words." He laughed slightly, that was a way to put it. He did have a way with words in truth. Though he probably got that from his parents easily enough. She seemed to accept this answer for now, though he knew some day she'd try to pry out of his what was really said, maybe after her nerves were resettled.

Standing there a few moments he finally spoke up again looking down at her with a bit of a smile, between his own nerves and the trip back here he was more then tired by now. It was starting to show a little and he knew it but he wasn't ready to give her up just yet. "Doing any better? your not trembling anymore." When she had first walked out and moved towards him she was trembling like a leaf, she seemed to calm down a little by this point.

Judith desperately wanted to ask Rhyldrin what had been said between him and her father, though she hesitated to do so. She was also still rather shocked by her father's sudden behaviour. Judith had suspected him to yell at her, to scold her as if she was nothing but a child but he did not. Instead he had treated her like an adult and talked to her with respect. One thing that Judith knew was that Rhyldrin had told her father about their relationship. What he had said to her made that very clear. She wasn't angry that Rhyldrin had told him, she was thankful for it. It had saved her from telling him herself and she didn't even know how she would have told him.

Judith shot him a quick look as he said that if this was a dream then it was the worst one. Though when he spoke again she swallowed the words that she had wanted to say. "It's a good thing though, isn't it?" she asked with a weak smile on her face. "I was going to eventually tell him of course though I don't even know how I could have brought myself to do that." she breathed out a sigh then pried herself away from Rhyldrin. "He... seemed a little upset which I had expected but he did not yell at me or scold me as if I was a child." her eyes wandered over her house wondering if her father was listening. "He just wants me to be happy, he's going to accept this because I'm happy."

She looked back at Rhyldrin a laugh escaped from her though it was only brief. "I'm not going to try to get any information out of you, whatever you said made my father less upset it seems." she crossed her arms over her chest then slightly pouted. "Though I'm not going to lie at all, I am rather curious about the conversation that had happened out here." Judith brought herself back to Rhyldrin, she rested against him once again enjoying the warmth that she had missed. "You seem so tired," she mumbled quietly, her ears fell a little and she looked up at Rhyldrin. "You should go rest soon, I need some rest myself after all of this."

He shrugged a little "I never said it wasn't good, but i'd like to think dreams come without fatigue." Though when he heard her talk that she was going to tell him eventually anyway he smiled a little "well I saved you from that now didn't I.. heh without meaning to in truth." He nodded slightly listening to her "Your all he has left.. of course he wants you to be happy, trust me he's still very protective of you. But he has every right to be."

He smirked a little when she spoke again about getting information from him. "good cause it wouldn't do you any good, you'll find out someday." He shrugged off her slight pouting. "I said what I thought needed to be said, nothing more." He would tell her someday what had been said.. but he'd have to wait till after a few events had taken place first.

He looked down at her nodding slightly. "I am.. though I think that's to be expected.. it was a long trip after all." He moved a little as he kissed her lips softly. "you should get some rest as well, maybe we can do something tomorrow seeing as the cats out of the bag."

Judith flinched a little as his face became close to hers, when he kissed her she melted in his arms instantly. It had been so long since the last time she had seen Rhyldrin, his touch made her heart skip happily in her chest. Though she seemed a little bit more calm now she was still a little on edge from what had happened only moments ago. "You should go to the inn and rest then, you shouldn't be pushing yourself so much." Judith breathed out a sigh and brought a hand up to Rhyldrin's face, she placed it under his chin. "You're going to get sick if you don't rest or eat properly." she felt like his mother always telling him to rest enough and to eat enough. Despite trying very hard to not worry and to think positively Judith did worry a lot about Rhyldrin.

"I would invite you to stay in my home though I think that it is too soon to be doing such things," she laughed though it was a very weak laugh. "Perhaps in the future when the idea of us being together has settled a bit more with my father. I see no reason for you not to come over but I don't think that you sleeping in the same bed as me would really sit well with him at all." the last thing that Judith wanted to do was upset her father. Even having Rhyldrin in the home with him around would probably not be a good idea right now, though eventually it would happen with her father home.

Judith brought the hand from under Rhyldrin's chin to the back of his head, she twirled his hair around her fingers and played with it. "You can come see me tomorrow, I had not planned to do anything." she whispered quietly to him, despite her father knowing now she still felt as if she should keep their plans with each other as private as she possibly could. Though he probably couldn't hear them from his room if she was quiet, she was worrying too much as always.

He frowned a little before shaking his head. "I'll be fine, I don't remember the last time I was sick.. ." He shrugged a little "You worry too much, save it for when you have kids." Though he said it he never had any thoughts on kids, but he had a point kids were a handful.. they needed to be worried about. Really he didn't think he was pushing himself all that much, not yet anyway.

"Don't worry about it, I'm not trying to push my luck.. heh" He wouldn't have felt comfortable staying there anyway, really he wasn't that relaxed staying at the inn here. Towns were too crowded for his tastes though he figured Judith liked staying here, she never said otherwise so he never asked. "Visiting once in a while wouldn't be too bad... " Though to admit it her father made him nervous, he wasn't sure why really maybe because of the fact that he was taking the last family the man had, he didn't want to over step his boundaries.

"Well then.. tomorrow it is." He moved slightly kissing her once more. After he got her to stop messing with his hair he said his good nights for now before leaving. He still had quite a bit to do before things were really settled.. but they could be dealt with a little at a time instead of forcing it all at her at once. Aside from that he was too tired to bother thinking about any of it.

( Sorry this post sucks. xD )

Judith shook her head a little when Rhyldrin told her that she should save all of her worrying for when she had children. She bit her tongue not wanting to tease Rhyldrin about his comment. The poor man was too tired anyways, she would leave him alone for now. Though it made her wonder if he was dropping a hint or if it was just simply a comment and that was all. Judith knew that she at least wanted to have one child though she had never really thought about having a child up until now. She wondered if Rhyldrin would even want to have a child.

Her eyes fluttered close as he brought his lips to her own once again, Judith released his hair from her grip and allowed him to pull away from herself. "If you still need to rest tomorrow then I will understand," she said aloud as he left her. "Take care of yourself!" she added then laughed quietly to herself. Judith turned towards her house, she quietly opened the door then shut it behind her. Judith paused for a moment to listen for her father, though no noise came from upstairs. She removed her coat, hung it then retreated upstairs to her bedroom.

------

Surprisingly Judith had woken later than usual. She quickly dressed then went downstairs, she expected to see her father in the kitchen or the living room but he was no where to be found. He was not even in his own room or on their property. She assumed that he was out working despite. Judith made herself something to eat quickly then as usual she cleaned up the house as much as she could. Her father worked hard and she would feel guilty if the first thing he did was clean rather than rest.

Once she was done inside of the house she went outside to tend to the little garden that she had planted earlier in the Summer. Though due to the weather becoming colder she found that most of the plants were beginning to wither and die. She picked what was left and tossed the vegetables and fruits that were no good to the side for animals to take care of them.

He had slept well enough, though something was telling him this little era of peace wouldn't last. Why did he feel like a doom saying with such thoughts. Though they were probably true enough. He just had a gut feeling something would happen, and he didn't want it to not when things were finally going well. Maybe he was wrong for a change and was just stressed or something from everything that was going on.

Though his sleep was disrupted as he felt like someone was watching him. Opening his eyes he was met with a pair of bright yellow eyes looking down at him. e flinched a little nearly forcing himself out of the bed. "fuck! Don't do that.. geese.. " He growled a little sitting up and rubbing his head. The dragon boy sat there with a smile on his face still. "well it was time for you to get up, it's early afternoon"

Rhyldrin sighed a little before bothering to get up and get dressed, sure he was still a little tired but he figured it'd wear off once he was awake. The boy still followed him staying in his humanoid form. really it was a little out of place seeing Rhyldrin with a kid, he hardly seemed like the type to want them around. Though he never had given the idea of a family much thought to be honest. He continued to follow Rhydrin as he left the tavern, not like he had anything better to do.

Judith had noticed that Vrine had vanished from her room though she didn't think too much of it. The boy could take care of himself and she doubted that he would get himself into much trouble. Despite being much bigger than he once was he could still move throughout the Capital without being spotted. Judith had faith that he would not be caught though if he was then she didn't think it would cause too much trouble. Now with the peace between the Elves and the Dragonkin it seemed that things were settling down finally. The Dragonkin had provided Bryon with help because of the events in the past, in return Byron gave them help as well. They were being more friendly with each-other than they had ever been before.

She lifted herself from her garden and carried what she had picked to the house. Judith left the back door open allowing a chilly breeze to creep into the house. She filled a few bowls with what she had picked then returned outside to see what else could be done. She too felt that something was terribly wrong though she pushed those thoughts away. Judith knew that everything could only get better now, she had to stop worrying about every little thing. It was true, she worried too much and it would probably make her sick one day.

Though she couldn't help but notice a stronger presence of guards than there had been over the past weeks. She hoped that she was wrong, the last thing that she wanted to happen was something awful again. Everything seemed to be alright now, her father knew about her and Rhyldrin. It wasn't much though it was a start. The fact that her father was accepting their relationship was very good. She couldn't help but wonder when Rhyldrin would ask her to live with him, where would they live? She smiled to herself thinking about how wonderful it would be to wake up beside him every morning and to fall asleep in his arms.

Walking through the city he noticed the odd number of guards stationed at the different areas, what in the world was going on.. This bothered his more with his thoughts from last night that something felt off in the air. Vrine was still following Rhyldrin, the two got a few odd looks, it was still a bit of a rare site for a dragonkin to be seen here but it was happening from time to time.

By the time the two reached Judith's house she seemed to be outside lost in whatever day dream she was in. Vrine Walked ahead a few steps looking at Judith unable to get her attention. "Thinking about those knights again?" he laughed slightly figuring a smart comment would work if anything make her blush that she was lost in her thoughts.

"by the way.. you lost something .." he said making a gesture towards Virne who seemed to smile at the comment. It was hard to think the kid was just that a kid.. he was nearly as tall as Judith but the dragonkins were naturally tall.. once he was a adult he'd be a good foot or two taller then Rhyldrin.

Judith jumped a little as she was pulled from her thoughts, her ears fell and she gave Rhyldrin an unimpressed look. "We already talked about this, didn't we?" she asked then looked up at him. Her eyes fell from Rhyldrin when he mentioned that she had lost something. "I was wondering where you went," she said then shook her head a little. "You should at least tell me that you're going to wander off, I was a bit worried this morning when I woke up and you were nowhere to be found!" Vrine was nearly as tall as Judith, it was a bit odd to see that a child was about her height.

Judith breathed out a sigh then looked back up at Rhyldrin. "Did you notice anything?" she asked him suddenly, she crossed her arms over her chest. "I don't know how to explain it but something doesn't feel right." she added a worried expression washed over her face. "It doesn't help that there seems to be much more guards on patrol." for a moment she chewed on her lower lip nervously then stopped as she continued to speak. "We're not being told something though if there is something wrong I don't think that Bryon would keep it from us for too long. Something is wrong, everyone seems to be on edge."

"We did, but it seemed to work to get you out of your daze" He smirked a little knowing he was right. Vrine pouted a little "I didn't get hurt.. besides if i didn't run off he'd still be asleep... " He said pointing towards Rhyldrin. "You try walking for two days .. see how much you sleep"

"notice.. oh the guards?" He had noticed but he wasn't going to think too much about it. "hrm.. I think I might go about finding some information. I don't like this.. at all." He did seem a little worried now that she had brought it up, what was being hidden.. were the dark elves prepared for something as well? "I know someone that might know more information .. if I can't get it out of the king that is."

"For a king Bryon is rather weak at keeping things to himself," Judith laughed quietly then looked up at Rhyldrin when she had her fill of watching the guards. "You might not even get to him before he spills what is wrong." Judith paused for a moment, she bit her tongue. Though it wasn't a bad thing to tell Rhyldrin these things unless of course he decided to take advantage of it. Then again everyone knew that lying or hiding things was not was Bryon did best. "He allows his nerves to get the best of him. You think that a king would be much stronger than he is, huh?"

"Then again he's no different than us so it isn't really surprising." she threw back her shoulders in a brief shrug, her eyes fell from Rhyldrin and went to Vrine. "Are you hungry?" she asked sweetly, a smile crept across her face and she reached out one hand for him to give her one of his. "I just picked some vegetables and fruits, you can have as many as you want to!"
