Er... Okay first of all why is it that you go for the word "molest" right off the bat? The only reason they would have for touching you is if you refused both the X-ray , and the wand. Which is odd if you do... If you don't want to go just tell them you can't afford to go and you don't feel comfortable letting someone else pay for it.

If you feel more comfortable telling them through emails then do that.

On a side note I am afraid of heights and there for hate flying as well but I know in some cases I need to fly. I just make sure I'm not seated by the window and if I am I make sure it stays closed.

And why does your kid have issues with TSA? ... I would say it could be because of your own fear over it and your kid picked up on that or over heard you say that they will molest him... Either way I think it might be in both over you interests to just not go.

I would love not to go but it's almost as if I don't go, noone can go.
Now my dad, who has a low self opinion, claims that he shouldn't bother going since my sister seems more concerned with if I go and he wouldn't be welcome.

Just because I choose not to go, everything really has to fall apart for everyone? I know I am not responsible for other peoples choices but they sure like to make me feel as if I am.

Eric has seen the news, ABC and CNN, He is also 11 and does have his own, very strong, opinions.

Now my sister thinks we all hate her and she understands why she is in CA now in the first place and oh my god I feel like the worst person in the world.

Belial, it sounds like people are trying to make you feel guilty. Which they shouldn't. You certainly seem to have some valid reasons not to go, but it sounds like your family is trying to write them off as lame excuses, which they aren't. Fears, even if they seem silly, are real and shouldn't be taken lightly.

It is hard to understand the situation without seeing it first hand, plus no one is going to fully understand your fears except yourself. I don't really have any good advice for you though... :/

Well, I've read what you, and everyone has said in response. So, take this with a grain of salt.

First off, it sounds like they've used this on you a lot over the years and it's always worked to their advantage. So, sadly they're going to fully expect you to fall into line. It sounds like your father is also pulling the same thing on you, albeit a bit better than your sister.

First off, tell them flat out you are not going, but others are more than welcome to head out. If they say anything else inform them that you're very sorry, but your choice is final. At that point you need to stop listening. They're going to pull all the guilt they can find to hit you with.

They've gotten away with it for a while, so they're going to fight it hard. It's going to require some serious spine on your part, and it may cause some backlash. But, if you hold firm they'll start pulling it a lot less.

I do appreciate your advice though I know actually doing it will be harder than actually just talking about it, if that makes sense.

You are correct, it's been this way since I was a kid. Doesn't make me feel any less like a huge jerk or a bad brother/son.
