Problem to the Solution

Uuuueeegh. 80% of the fun is the interaction. I spent 45 minutes trying to explain numbers to the half-orc, and how they all stayed the same size and didn't get bigger even if the number of things they represented got bigger. And if they were like that because signs and things are rectangular, and if we went by the size method then they would have to all be triangle shaped. And lumber doesn't come in triangles. Then someone chimed in that the lumber could be cut in to triangles, so my character had to withdraw from the group to meditate on this. He then decided later on that the system currently in place was better, because when kings paid lots of money, the triangle parchment they were on would be so big, anyone could see the amount and it wouldn't be very discreet. That, and rectangles just look more stoic and robust. Triangles are more of a stabbing shape, something that he doesn't like. He then recognized that his personal preference didn't dictate the shape of signs, but everyone could agree that rectangle shapes are more convenient, and there are a bunch of different triangles.

He's also very dumb. He also went to discuss how if there is a goddess of the forest, and someone makes a chair out of wood, does she still preside over the chair? My first experience with 3.5, by the way.

Well, I should probably mention, I played DnD when I was in 9th grade, so, yeah, my group was a little immature. I eventually stopped coming up with intricate plots when they just ignored everything anyway.

3.5 was the only system I ever played with. Loved it to death, modified the hell out of it.

It's a shot in the face, having only ever played 4th. 4th simplified a loooot of junk, and the combat is something I'm still getting used to. But holy crap I love being able to have skill ranks. And Perform (Sing)? Hell yes. I've already rewritten a Bon Jovi song and two Stan Bush songs to be about Paladins. Just in case I ever actually have to sing.

The reason I never got into 4E was because of how mutable 3.5's system is. I just changed and tinkered with it until it was the game system of my dreams, so... obviously 4E would be inferior to me; anything would. From what I gather, though, 4th is harder to customize like that, isn't it?

Gawd yes. 4th has almost zero room for customization. It's pretty much an MMO rule set, you just sprinkle in the RPG bits. I don't even have the Handle Animal skill that would allow me to get close enough to a rage drake to attach it to a chain to make a Drake Flail. I'm not even sure if I could MAKE a Drake Flail in 4th.

But I'm sure as hell going to try in 3.5. Weaponsmithing and Handle Animal, here I come!

Sorry. It's been a while since I said anything. And it's mostly Na'lsa being a creeper until he relinquishes control over Lev. He staked him again and has destroyed all the memories of Lev knowing he was possessed or ever wanting to eat any of you guys.

-choke cough hack-

Note to self: Never read Salone's posts a mere ten minutes after lunch.

You've just managed to get someone who doesn't get freaked out too easily...well...freaked out. Slightly.

Which reminds me...the lesson I learned yesterday: When you're a girl and barely five feet tall, never walk through a dark alley in a college that under construction yet dead silent...at 11 pm. I didn't realize how scared I was until after I got onto the car.

Aww, were you okay? And yeah, little girls in big alleys are the setup for unfortunate things.

And sorry about your lunch.

Shealtiel is wondering what would happen if he tried to consume the demon's soul. >_>

Or what it would think of the prospect....

That would be a fight indeed. He's not powerful in any sort of psychic manner. But as long as he controls some sort of form, he will fight to the end.

...If someone doesn't decapitate and slaughter Lev's body while he's out right now.

I'm trying to figure out Dante's reaction to that. And muffling my own laughter at making Dante have to be within fifty feet of Lev when they travel. Suze, when you repost that scene, mind sticking Dante's bike on the APC? He doesn't want to waste gas when he can have a free (albeit slow) ride to Megiddo.

Dante could potentially just shot Lev's brains out right now, but, 1.) Rue and Shealtiel could probably read his mind and cripple him before he gets the chance to do so, and 2.) Dante'd only be killing the body, not the demon itself.

...

Actually, as of right now, he can't really get rid of the demon, can he >.>
