Angels and Demons [Possibly M] | #1
OOC: This may end up being M. I have a thing for blood and gore. Soft, sleeping breaths contrasted with the darkness that loomed over the night. The air was humid and musty, showing all the sings of a too-wet summer that had set in on the city. It was a wonder that this must didn't hinder the two boy's breaths, sleeping between the wreckage in the even darker alley. The two boys, one blond with black streaks, the other a brunette, sniffled as they re-adjusted on one another, finding their current positions not to their satisfaction in their dreamy world state. The blond, 17 years in age, had his head on the 18 year old brunette's chest. One could tell from an outside view that these two were closer than friends, closer than perhaps brothers, but definitely not lovers. The brunette's grip on the blond was more of that of a father's than anything else, protecting the younger boy despite the younger one being on top of him. However, amidst the darkness came a slight sound, a movement, and a stir of sniffles from the blond. Sleepy yawns and grumbles filled the air suddenly as the blond flicked his head around, as if the look for something in particular, but without actually seeing. It was...too quiet. With only the ability to see through vibrational waves and his sense of touch, the blond weighed his options. Any loud noise he did to figure out just what had woken him up could usually wake up his companion, but not doing anything could leave a sense of danger lurking above his head. What if there was something there? The blond grunted. He didn't want to move right now, the brunette was offering him too much warmth compared to the night air. No matter how warm it was outside, the evening was always cold. It was only when the brunette started to snore that the blond snorted and got up from his spot, finally making his decision. There was no way that he was getting back to sleep when that power house was snoring at full throttle anyways. Heck, he might even go deaf if he stayed around the snoring long enough. With another yawn the blond walked out of the alley, but still in a good distance to keep watch over his companion. If there was any danger he'd at least want to keep an eye out, right? The blond didn't have his weapon on him either, so he didn't want to stray too far. Just enough to punch something to give him a good view of his surroundings or something. When that happened though, the blond fell right back on his buttox. His eyes blinked at a rapid fire rate, showing the sudden shock clear across his face and his bright orange eyes. Sure, punching something was stupid and now his fist hurt, but that was a LOT of people around. And not just 10 people, but probably 30 or so, just chilling, watching him and anyone else that was moving around. Snipers, weird mutated things, normal people, what seemed to be maniacs in straight jackets...or lab coats they were about the same thing. But now that the blond had actually made a noise, things seemed to be taking a turn for the worst. While before there were about 3 people looking at him, now just about everyone was. It wasn't that the blond could see, but that he felt the eyes burning into his very being. Damn, what did they have, laser beams in their eyes? No time to ask. In not even a blink of an eye, the blond went from sitting down to being on his back. A heavy weight strained on his abdomen, effectively pinning him down as he batted at whatever it was with his hands. The mass on top of him however was heavy, agile, and much more awake than the blond boy. Without too much trouble it got the blond's hands above his head to restrain him. Grumbling at his new predicament, the blond didn't even have time to register how many people were around him; it didn't matter at this point, the main thing was to get the hell out of the situation and back on his feet, then worry about the specifics. No hesitation left inside of him, the blond willed from deep down inside of himself to give this person the shock of their life, literally. The scream rippled through the person on top of the blond. Surprisingly, it sounded female, and it made the boy hesitate for a little while. That was one strong chick. Either that or he had heard wrong. Better check that out next time he was at work with health benefits. For being a mercenary, hearing was important to him. Especially since that was a lot more useful than sight when things were quiet and not even a mouse was stirring. Getting to his feet, the blond called out to his companion, hoping for some sort of help. It almost made the boy facepalm when he saw that the brunette was still sleeping. Even though all of that. Then again, the snoring was probably louder than all of the action that had happened. "Luther! Now would be a REALLY good time to wake up!!" The blonde tried again. It served double purpose. To observe and to attempt to get help. The view of what was around him didn't do much for his confidence however. People around him were snickering, staring him down, not even paying attention to their fallen companion. There were too many of them, and the blonde's face dropped, knowing full well he couldn't do anything at this point. If he had had his gunblade or his handgun with him, that would have been a different story, but he didn't. With a heavy sigh and a shift from on leg to another, the blonde backed up slightly. There was no one behind him, how odd. What were they doing, herding him? As soon as the thought crossed his mind, the question was answered. BANG A bullet sliced through the blonde's right shoulderblade, bringing him down to his knees. It wasn't enough to kill him, or to render him incapacitated, but enough to give the group enough time to close in on the blonde and put him in chains. Chains and whatever else they planned to do. They sure weren't aiming to stop the bleeding and it was making the blond all the more miserable, cursing under his breath the whole while. And then, everything went black. ----- Waking up felt like someone had stabbed a knife through both of his eyes and put spikes throughout his whole body. The blonde groaned as he tried to sit up and get his bearings. Last he remembered he was sleeping on top of Luther, right? And then a horrible dream...but really, the blonde's shoulderblade hurt like nothing else. That must have been one heck of a dream to translate into real life like that. Feeling up to his shoulder with his left hand, Gavin suddenly stopped in shock. Well that wasn't supposed to be there. A big lump of what felt like band-aids were met under his hand. His shirt was over top of them, and onbviously a freezing had been used because the blonde didn't feel them on his chest. And a part of it felt spongy, like there was a hole underneath of the bandage. The thought hit the blond like a semi. He fell backwards back onto his back and groaned some more, now looking at his surroundings. Looked like he was in a very cramped prison cell. Nothing but cement and bars, no toilet, bed, nothing. Looked very inviting and cozy. The smell was also putrid and sour; a mixture of blood, rot, and mold. Some dream that was.

The cell was cold which was the only blessing they had afforded her. She curled back away from the only entrance staring with blank eyes at the steel bars of her cell. She hadn't slept in days. Not knowing if it was night or day, or even if days had actually passed. For all she knew it could have been weeks... Time seemed utterly still in this place. Where ever this place was. She was healing slowly... There was to much cement between her and the real ground she was longing for a connection. Whoever these idiots were they knew far to much about her.
She hadn't told anyone, recently, what she was. She was good at playing human. It was the only way t survive most of the time. Death followed those that were different... or powerful. If someone saw her as a threat she would've been dead by now... So what could they want? She hadn't seen any of their faces. All covered cleverly by magic whenever they give her food or water. And the pawns that come to get her to take her to the restroom, or the "lab" are all to brain dead to speak, or maybe that to was magic. She took a deep breathe and started to count backwards again. Panic attack right on the border of her mind. She needed to think of something less. She closed her eyes and thought of a beautiful meadow. Lush grass on either sides of a stone path that twisted and turned down to the lake. Flowers in full bloom. The sweet scents of nature dancing about in her mind. 700.... 687.... 674.... 661.... and the panic stopped. It wasn't the counting. It was the image so fresh in her mind that she could feel the pure power radiating from her vision. Her mind trying to reach out to the things that keep her grounded and safe. Pulling something to her that could never be taken away. The only thing she had that kept her sane, and she would never tell them what it was. Never. Footsteps. Far end of the hall. Before the two double sealed doors, and the guarded check point. This place was more then a prison, but even though she knew as much as she did she couldn't figure out what they wanted. Were the footsteps for her, or was she not alone...? Her eyes still closed she waited. It took four minutes to pass go. Each door then took two minutes each, the walk between them took another four minute, and the final walk to her cell was another three minutes. Fifteen minutes before she would see a faceless man or woman that would take her to the restroom and then drug her, and she would wake up here. Again. All of this was an instant thought. She had timed it until she know for sure how long she had. She had always heard other people in this room with her, but they never responded. Yet every time she woke up... she tried again. She had to. Curled into a ball at the back of her cell she knew her voice would still ring load in this horrid place, but not loud enough to be overheard from outside. The steps started again heading to the first door. Time was wasting. She tried her voice for the first time since she awoke. Her throat refused to make a sound. She tried once more, and then again. Praying for sound. On the forth try words came from her throat. "Hello....? Please, if there's someone there... I just want to know I'm not alone..." She hated feeling so helpless. She hated more that she let it sound in her voice. She refused the tears that started to burn at her eyes. The steps stopped at the second door. Not a sound from the room. Not an increase in a heart beat. Not an increase of breath. She couldn't understand why.... Unless it was her captures playing with her more. She forced her mind to try to recall something from while she was drugged. She always assumed she was awake because of the way her body felt, but she couldn't know of sure. I was all a blank slate. Black and uninviting. Her heart broke when the final door opened. She heard the creek as it began to swing back and the loud BANG when it hit the wall. Clicks of heels on the ground told her it was a female this time. Couldn't even be a cross-dresser the sound would be different. It was light and crisp. And familiar. She was visited often but whoever this was, and at the memories her stomach gave a violent twist. She pulled her knees closer to her, and prayed that just this once the woman wouldn't come to her. That she would come for someone else. Proving she was not alone, and giving her time to calm herself. She broke down. Tears falling silently from her eyes as the steps got closer and closer. The steel bars blurred in her vision and she tried to reclaim her peace. The lush grass and open water calling to her... but it was tarnished. The grass was brown and begging for water. The flowers wilted with their colors dulled. The water polluted and nasty. The stone walk cracked and in pieces. Her last paradise... destroyed. Pain wrenched in her chest and she stood waiting for Bitch No. 1 to show herself. She gave up trying to fight them. All of them seemed to be overly strong... to strong for humans... and this had worried her, once. Now the pain was to much. Her hurt was to deep... She knew that it wasn't even real but that fact that that place was destroyed in her mind... it was an unspeakable offense. If someone had the ability to take her mind from her how would she ever escape.... Just as she thought.... The footsteps stopped in front of her. "Oh, on your feet to fight today are you?" the smirk on her face could be heard in her words ever though she was, as always, faceless. "Spare me your pleasure, and lets get this over with..." Alice said. She walked out of the cell and down the hall. Slow but steady and without the help of anyone. Her head held high, and no evidence of tears in her eyes or on her face. She was emotionless. Hardened to protect the value of herself. They would not win this. Those fifteen minutes back went faster then the wait for the footsteps to come to her. She turned the corner after the check point. Clearly able to pass go on her own as long as she was headed in the right way. All the people she saw there were faceless... and motionless. Like Robots... It was unnerving. She walked straight to the restroom took her time and washed her face. She looked as she should for someone being held against their will with little food and little water. The harsh light did little to make it better. Bags under her chaotic green eyes. Greasy reddish-brown hair that would have had a slight wave, or even some curls on a good day. Cracked lips from lack of water, and an all to skinny face. Her Pale skin adding an eerie look to her. Like she were once dead and then brought back, but was fighting with the thought of life. She looked worse very second she looked in that mirror. She was not unsupervised at all, of course, since she was a captive. Oh the hell that they would pay if she ever found a way out... They couldn't even think of what would happen to them... but she could. She smiled lightly thinking of ways to kill them slowly. Taking days to end their suffering... Maybe she would keep them alive longer then that. Because she knew, without a doubt, that she would get out of here, and she knew that she would kill them for what they had done. The woman must have seen the smile and took it the wrong way because just as that last thought ran through her mind Alice felt the needle pierce her skin. The drug took effect in seconds and she fell back against the woman. "I knew water was your element... they never listen to me... how are we suppose to keep you alive if the one thing everyone needs makes your stronger?!" her voice snapped, harsh and angry. Like it was Alice in the wrong. She sighed heavily and spoke again "Lets just get this over with..." The drugs were making things time skip. She noticed she was strapped to a table, face down. It wasn't as uncomfortable as it should have been. She felt something on her back as well as murmurs from behind her. A quick slice of pain that the drugs covered and turned to pleasure. Her mind screaming something was wrong. Metal clanking was heard behind her interrupting her thoughts. The voices got louder. "She can't deal with much more of this today... Why do you always push her so far? Why is she so special?" It was the female again. Her mind told her, but she didn't care. She didn't even care what they said. She wanted to go back to her thoughts... "She heals faster then the rest. Since we have to give her water. She is my pet project, and I won't let anyone take her from me, and I sure as hell won't let her go." She couldn't tell if it was a man or not but the possessive nature sent off the alarm bells in her mind... until the drugs turn the bells into Mozart... What the hell was going on.... Darkness claimed her. Something cold was placed against her face and the sensation was amazing. She slept deeply lying on the cement floor of her cell, and dreamed of knives and metal gears, and a beautiful garden far way... With lush grass and a glorious lake..... She woke with a start her mind buzzing about. She was in the cell. Again.... "It's in the stars. It's been written in the scars on our hearts. Your head is running wild again, my dear. We still have everythin'. We're not broken, just bent. I'll fix it for us. Our love's enough. "

"Well this is great." The blond mumbled to himself, still poking at this wound and laying on the floor. While he wasn't going to freak out, there was nothing worse than having a foreign substance in the body. He had a fear of it, and it was going to drive him crazy to the point of hippie when he got out of this place to 'cleanse' his body from the crap that had been injected in him. While freezing was fine, and the blond understood freezing and whatever it could do, which was not much, it felt like someone had been digging around in there. It definitely was a bigger hole. A bigger hole probably meant that he had lost quite a bit more blood. Quite a bit more blood meant that he was likely to have had to been given blood. Especially with the whole bit that he wasn't in the finest of health to beging with. It wasn't like the streets and alleyways were the top of the line for health and hygiene.
Sighing, the blond moved his hands to the two dog tags around his neck. They were cold, but they were like one of those rubbing rocks; whenever he got nervous, the blonde would rub the two tags together to keep himself occupied and to clear his mind. Obviously, he needed to get out of here. Second, he needed a plan to get out here. Third, it needed to work. And now that Captain Obvious had finished his rounds, it was time to partially start thinking of that. The other thing to think about was why it was so dreary and motionless? The lack of anything moving around made the blond blind to everything around him, and it was a feeling he really didn't like. It was causing him to get increasingly nervous and frustrated as each moment passed. And it seemed like an eternity. Where was his cousin, Luther? Did these people grab him too? The shock and immediateness of the thought brough thte blond to his feet immediately, getting a massive blood rush to his head. Cringing and growling, the blond grabbed his forehead and stabalized his body. A lack of blood wouldn't have done that. There was most definitely some sort of drug that was involved to make this 100 times worse than it already was, and it was giving the worst migraine that the boy had ever felt. Thank anything and everything holy at that moment right there that there was no sounds; everything was annoying, even his own thought process. 'Hey Gravy and Potatoes, where are ya?' The sudden masculine and booming voice that enterred the blond's head was the only thing that actually made him less annoyed at this point. At least the snoring brunette hadn't been brought to this place in addition to himself with the way that Luther was just casually chilling out in the telepathic link that they shared. It was a link that they could never shut off or break either, so it was usually more bad than good. Luther had this constant habit of annoying the blond to high heavens, even if it was just teasing in a way that meant that he loved him. However, with that link being so open, Luther had probably already figured out the whole entire situation, or at least that the blond was doing so well in a place that was completely foreign to him and he had no way of seeing into. Luther was the blonde's eyes when there was nothing he couldn't go off his senses, and the blond was Luther's eyes in the dark and eerie situations of being a mercenary that they wouldn't be able to see the enemy but there were gunshots and lots to go by. They were like Cookies and Cream; shouldn't ever be seperated, and all together it was beginning to drive the blond loopy. 'Look, I'll come get you Gavin. I'll find you somehow, just chill, a'right?' 'I'm not two. I'll be fine Luther, just get out of the coffee shop with the hot girl and get over here.' Gavin snorted back at his cousin through his telepathic link. He didn't have any doubt that Luther would find him, but women were quite the distraction. Like a shiny thing, Luther just had to check them all out. That boy had hormones like he had just hit puberty, it was a wonder that he actually was able to keep on the mercenary life that the two led, but somehow he had managed it. He was just as good of a mercenary too. Not as skilled in the magics as Gavin was, but still a fiesty contender. Luther tended to aim more toward healing and brute strength anyways, while Gavin was speed and lots of offensive magics. This was going to be a long wait though. There were no signs as to where Gavin was at all. The blond began to once again rub his dog tags together with his left hand, and walked over towards the edge of his cell. Just what on Earth had brough him to this place to begin with? Some sort of failure on his part? There wasn't any information of anything of the sort on his last briefing. He may have been a mercenary, but he was part of the government, unless it was terrorist or the government itself anyone that had picked him up would have normally just let him go. Sighing, Gavin pressed his forehead between the spaces in the metal bars. Using his magic tended to calm himself down, make him feel more empowered, so Gavin began to simply just send a few constant volts through the bars. Heck, it could be a start to a brilliant plan too. Send enough of that in there and he may just be able to melt the bars, depsite that light and heat that it was now bringing to the entire room, and the electricity that was probably flowing through most of the buiklding with the cement floors being such a great conductor. Like his cousin always said, 'the best things come from not thinking. So shut it and chill.' What caught his attention however the sudden bolt of...something. Something to his left. Gavin wasn't able to catch it, but whatever it was had moved. Immediately, he stopped his flow of current. If it was those people that had brought him at this desolate place then it would be a far cry from intelligent to actually continue with his escaped method and attract all the attention he could while he was at it.

The current hit her like nothing she had ever felt before. Any skin she had against the floor burned slightly, and as her brain registered the pain she tried to scream... well, did scream, but the sound never came out. Her voice was flawed. Broken. It wasn't that her throat was dry. More of her voice had left her completely. Had they damaged her? What happened... She thought back but could only remember the mirror in the rest room and the smirk on her lips.
Panic hit her in such a wave there was nothing she could do. She started to shake. Tears fell from her eyes. Silent sobs left her as she lay there helpless and in pain. Each movement hurt her more. She had to find a way to get out. She couldn't last here anymore... She wished for him... and then wished she hadn't. He had died so many years ago leaving her alone.... Her mind froze on his face, or really just those eyes. She fell into them any time she looked at them. Chocolate brown. Deep and loving. He was her protector... and he had died because of her. She tried to bring herself out of these thoughts. She focused on the panic, but that didn't work. Even with everything the guilt rang true. Panic attacks taking away the past? No way. Just increases the memories ten fold. Twenty minutes later she lay still. Heart rate back to normal levels. Tears dried on her face. Wounds still fresh and hurting. She took a deep breath and forced herself to move. She stood on her crappy sneakers. Ripped and torn from over use. She was in an oversize white t-shirt and shorts. She couldn't figure out why they had changed her clothes when she first got here... but that was so long ago she couldn't remember what she had been wearing before. Her legs, arms, and stomach were burned. Badly. She couldn't figure out where the current came from. She walked to the bars and looked down the hall. Hers was the very last cell on the left if you were walking towards her end of the hall. The cell across from her was empty. She reached for her voice again praying for some noise. Any noise. Nothing. She didn't know what else to do... Maybe it would heal if she got some water... but she wasn't sure.. Her healing powers worked on the more vital things first. As she was sure her voice was not top priority it would take a while, and a good deal of water, for the healing to get that far. It wasn't something she could control.... She was a mute. Things were just getting better and better.... "It's in the stars. It's been written in the scars on our hearts. Your head is running wild again, my dear. We still have everythin'. We're not broken, just bent. I'll fix it for us. Our love's enough. "

With a feeling of defeat, Gavin turned around from the bars and slide himself all the way down against the cold metal, ending in a sitting position, legs sprawled out from under him. While he really wanted to get out and start unleashing more of the magic that burned inside of him, Gavin wasn't so sure that even moving was really a good option at that point in time. But, he had to try something right? Something was better than just sitting around waiting to be taken advantage of in a place that smelt and felt worse than Chucky Cheese's after Miley Cyrus' 10th birthday.
Smacking his fist down with another jolt of electricity for good measure, Gavin tried his best to focus on whatever had caught his attention beforehand. Hopefully more electricity wouldn't make it hostile or kill it or anything. Gavin gritted his teeth, there was only one way to find out if it would, despite his hatred to have that happen. The last thing he wanted to do what cause pain for others or to be on the receiving end of blows he couldn't defend. Ones he could, different story, but with being locked up, the blond's mentality had changed entirely to 'get out at all costs, kill everyone in the way, but mainly, survive.' It had been a mentality that seemed to pop up whenever he was confined in tight places like the tight prison cell he was currently in. To his utter shock however, what seeemed to be a girl was standing in a cell. Her cell was located two over from his own. Someone was there, at least there was some sort of hope for him. They didn't appear to be in very good condition from what he could tell, but a person was a person. The first what-looked-to-be-normal person that Gavin had seen since he was abducted at that. Finally remembering his manners, Gavin shivered a little before he began to speak. He wasn't the talking type at all. Whenever a conversation was to be done Gavin would usually let Luther handle it. The combination of getting their voice through his ears and by vibration in his senses was mind boggling and annoying, making it very difficult to carry on a conversation if it wasn't by telepathy. Hence why Luther was his number one talking buddy of all time. "Uh...sorry if I've been shocking you ma'am. Do you know what's going on here?" Gavin spoke both softly and directly. Even though his voice was as deep and as powerful's as his cousin's, it had an authoritive and masculine edge to it, demanding to be responded to. One thing was for sure though, the waves from his own voice made it much simpler to see the girl than with electricity. If he had to, Gavin would keep talking if only to see her more clearly, though it wasn't a resolve he was going to be happy making. Not only was it not his thing, but Luther would tease him about now having a gal pal that he just couldn't shut up from the moment he laid his eyes on her; he could practically feel Luther teasing him about it already through his telepathic link. Being teased for that...would be annoying. More annoying than being stuck in a cell with no bed or toilet. What the blond did see of the girl when he had spoken to her had brought an immediate sort of alarm to him. Electricity didn't normally fry people's skin off. Had she been hurt from before of did someone actually have the cruelty to do that to her? What had Gavin managed to wind up in now? Looked more like a torture chamber now than anything else. Yet, if it was all his fault that she was now in this state, what had gone on to make her that sensitive to electricity? The thoughts were all jumbling into one at this point, and Gavin gave up on it all. Answers would come in due time.

The soft voice was a surprise to Alice. She hadn't expected it and stepped back away from the bars. Without her voice how would she talk to anyone. No one was ever in here before. She had thought the current was another step in the torture, but if it was him... well, there was no way to know for sure if he was a good guy or not.
Hope swelled in her. Maybe she wasn't alone. Even being mute the happiness was over whelming. She stepped back up to the bars to see if she could see him. Maybe she could wave her hands about and try to convey a message to him. Maybe he could help... She looked again at the cells. Two over across the way she saw a boy. Face unhidden by magic. Even in the dull light he wasn't hard on the eyes. She waved her arms up and down. Trying to get his attention. He was just staring into space. Nothing drew his eyes to hers. She didn't understand. Was he not really there? Was this all in her mind? She stopped moving and tried to push aside the pain. She was weak, wounded from all the time she has been here, and even more wounded after his attack. Even though he hadn't meant it to hurt her... It fact, it wouldn't have hurt most... But her body couldn't deal with it very well. Fire, currents, heat, etc. Most of it just drain her energy as she would force herself to heal in order to look normal, but with nothing to spare in this place... she would be in this state for a while... Unless they would heal her back to full health..... They didn't seem like the type to care if she lived or died. She stomped her foot down in frustration and he focused on her more clearly. She saw him adjust to see her. Or at least that what it seemed. Yet his eyes were still not clearly on her. Just the general direction. It was odd... Alice looked away from him. Turning her back to the bars. Tears ran down her face. She hated this. Her hair fell silently in front of her face. Her shoulders started to shake with the silent sobs. It was getting hard for her to breathe. She wished for the first time in her life to die, and knew in her heart if she spent to many more days here she would have that wish fulfilled. What was she gonna do... "It's in the stars. It's been written in the scars on our hearts. Your head is running wild again, my dear. We still have everythin'. We're not broken, just bent. I'll fix it for us. Our love's enough. "

Confusion swept over the blond as he waited and got no responce from the girl that he was absolutely certain was there. Was she playing a mind game with him? He doubted it. While women had a way of making you pull your eyeballs out, something in the situation warranted a sense of seriousness. It was probably the fact that they were both behind bars. Unless she was a criminal, then that would have made sense. But, to Gavin, this girl looked like a far cry from a criminal, especially with the wounds that she was bearing. She was indeed looking more like a torture victim, and he sighed at the thought. He was back to square one, where he had started with this thought process with the girl.
His mood suddenly changed however when the girl slammed her foot against the cement. With a quick shift in his position he tried to observe her more clearly. Sure, it didn't really matter to him what direction he was facing, but it was just easier to focus on what was ahead. Plus, it would probably be awkward if one started a conversation with their side to the person. In honesty it would most likely be taken as the direct highway to the freak label. Gavin crossed his arms and looked down as he began to speak again to try and keep his bearings straight. "You know..." Gavin immediately looked up, trying to in the best way he could focus his non-seeing eyes on the girl that was in front of him. She was...crying. This wasn't good. To say that the blond had never dealt with this sort of situation before was an understatement. Sure, luther had been sad once or twice, but that was different, just feeling caring made the brunette feel better because of their link. Actually having to say something was not in his department of know-how. So, Gavin did the only thinkable thing he could in this sort of situation, ask his cousin for help and to basically say everything for him. The syntax change was probably extremely obvious, but it was better than having a sad soul in the vicinity. "I'm not gonna hurt you and I'm not trying to pry. I just wanna know how to get outta here. It smells like someone took a massive dump in here and didn't clean it up for a few months. And if we can get out of these cells and I can come near you then I can heal you. I can't do anything far away because I'm not near as good as my cousin at healing or anything, but I can do it." Facepalming in a slightly humourous way which looked more like thinking from an outside point of view, Gavin could not believe he actually just said that. How...unintelligent. But, he had asked for it. Literally. Though it didn't make sense to the blond how that was even possible to be encouraging or feel-better. He couldn't think of that however, his objective now was to keep watch on the girl. Beginning to pace to keep a constant vibration throughout the space, Gavin observed for any type of reaction that was to happen and anything she may say.

Alice turned back to him when he started to speak, but the change in him was even weirder then the fact he couldn't seem to find her with his eyes. She listened and understood it was his first day here. A way out... yeah, that's what she wanted too, but it was hopeless. On top of that, she had been the only one here to her knowledge and she hadn't relieved herself here. So what the hell was he talking about? Or maybe magic had covered that from her.... As it had hide their faces... maybe it hide the others from her as well?
'He can heal me... I don't need that.. How do I tell him that?' She thought clearing her head of all other things. She had to find a way to talk to him... She crossed her arms and closed her eyes trying to come up with something. A hand movement? But if he couldn't see her, which is what she was starting to believe, then how would that work? She sighed silently and tried it anyway. She couldn't stop tapping her foot no matter what she tried but she tried to ignore that as she motioned to her throat and then slide her hand across it in a sideways cutting motion. Maybe it would make sense to him. Most people would use that to silently tell someone to stop talking or whatever else they were doing... but being a new mute she wasn't sure if she was making any sense. Her reddish-brown hair needed washing but just the same it held its half wavy half curly look as it always had, and it was still mostly covering her face. She had a nice cut when it was styled right but she was sure she looked like hell so why even bother thinking about her looks. Her bright green eyes piercing the cold dim room and staring straight at the boy. She tried not to show how weak she was. How hurt she was... She was healing herself as much as she could, but she knew she would still have burns when the next person came to get her for more tests. _.:~*~:._.:~*~:._.:~*~:._.:~*~:._.:~*~:._.:~*~:._ "Welcome to Alter (S)aints!" A womans cheery voice called out as he walked through the door. "Did you have an appointment with us today?" He looked at her and quickly rethought why he was here. He didn't want to work here... He didn't need the money. He needed to find someone... This was the only way. His eyes looked right through her. She wouldn't know anything about this company. She was just the idiot who answered the phone and greeted the new employees. "Yes, I'm supposed to be starting today. My name is Riley Kian." He smile as best he could... but he was so angry that he was sure it showed. The woman looked down at her paperwork. "Yep! Right here, Alright we just need to get a few things in order and then I can send you to the next step. Maybe we'll even get to work together sometime." She smiled sweetly ignoring the anger in his deep sapphire eyes and handed him a folder and a pen. "When you're done please come back up and talk to me." The paperwork was a bunch of bull. Jumping through hoops to get in the back doors. He was posing as a human... Maybe that wouldn't be good enough to get him where he needed to go, but first thing first was just getting in the doors. His little brother was in there somewhere... and he better be alive. Paperwork finished he returned to the desk. She didn't even look in the folder she just hit a button on the desk and said "You take that with you, I'm not allowed to see the personal files. You're going to room..." she looked at her paper again and clicked her tongue "...A-148. Have a good one." It couldn't have been more of a show unless she popped gum afterward. Maybe they already knew who he was... He nodded his head to her once and walked through the doors. Thanking people could get you in a lot of trouble if it was the wrong person. The rooms were not in any order at all. What was this place a joke? It went from X-3 to H-9030... How was he ever going to find A-148? He walked around for what seemed like hours until he found the little room. Pushing open the door he said "Hello?" and noticed that there was only one person in a lab coat sitting behind a table, and as soon as he walked in the man smirked. "Good of you to join me.... Riley... or should I say Daemon? Which do you prefer these days?" "The names Riley sir. I was sent here because I'm looking to be hired. I'm not sure who you think I am.. but I've never met a Daemon in my life." "Sir? Are you military son? Is that who sent you here for a job?" His eyes calculating everything that was just said trying to find the truth. "Sir, YesSir." "Hm.. That almost explains it. We don't normally get new people looking for jobs unless we go out and find them ourselves. Give me your file. We thought you might be someone else.. If everything is in order we'll how you say "Read you in" on the job you'll have here." Riley walked over to the man and handed him the file, and then stood waiting to see what would happen next. The man took his time looking through every single detail. Trying to prove he had been right. When he was done he looked up and sighed. "Guess you're in the free and clear. So what do you know about us kid?" he said taking his glasses off and rubbing his eyes. "Not much of anything. I'm not sure why the military would send me here. Said you needed someone that could handle ruff problems and keep a cool head if things went south. Other then that I'm in the dark Sir." "We here at Alter (S)aints, welcome you to our loving family. We are also called A-(S)aints or just (S)aints. We are running lots of.... tests. On different things. Trying to improve life for humans. We may need help with the tests which is where someone like you would come in. With more dangerous tests we would need people capable of keeping things calm so we can get things done without anything bad happening. People like you save lives on and off the battle field. If you choose to accept this job, and I do hope you will, we will pair you with a lab assistant and over time you will be moved up trough our experiments. For starters will start you on one of the safer things... Until we are sure you can handle yourself around our higher level threats. So, are you willing to become a member of Alter (S)aints?" "Yes Sir. That's why I'm here." His eyes didn't show how ready he was to kill this man already. He would surely die before Riley left this place for good... As soon as he found his brother... "Amazing. So we will partner you with... Meiko. She works for Dr. Breon. Anything you see here is Top Secret. I hope you know how to keep your mouth shut. You'll be living in one of our homes...." He pulled out a different folder from the case he had hidden on the floor by his feet. "...Here is all the information on everything you need to know. There are contact numbers if you need to ask questions... Oh! and here's your card to get in and your numbers." Riley took the folder and the two cards he was being handed. "The numbers on that card are VERY important. Remember them...." Riley looked down at the numbers. {30/30-0.0 (A-148o2o9)} "...They will change every time you are able to get into a different area. But only the 0.0. The first number is your starting code. Meaning where you were first hired. It will always remain that 30. The second is your current location. Hence the second 30. The [0.0] is your access level. It will get higher depending on what level of danger we think you can handle, and if we think you can hold your tongue. The levels start at [0.0] and go to [15.0] When your level goes up your access to the outside goes down. I'm Top Level clearance, but I can't leave the building without a few people with me and then a few more tailing us. I'm to much of a liability. Needless to say I don't get out much. Finally the last number is your own I.D. Number. It will never change. And there will not be anyone else with your code. Its not just numbers as you can see. You will in that set of numbers to get in and your I.D. Picture card as well. Meiko will get you settled into your new place..." As he finished his sentence the door opened and a girl walked in. Long black hair, icy blue eyes, model like body, and a smile that could send any man to their knees. "...Ah Meiko, perfect timing as always." She was dressed in street clothes. Tight jeans, a designer shirt, high heels, and accessories to match. Riley couldn't help but smirk. "Pay must be pretty good... I'm Riley Kian its a pleasure to meet you miss." He held out his hand like a good boy. He wasn't interested in the least, but it didn't hurt to put on a show... "It's in the stars. It's been written in the scars on our hearts. Your head is running wild again, my dear. We still have everythin'. We're not broken, just bent. I'll fix it for us. Our love's enough. "

Stopping immediately at the girl's sudden action accross her throat, Gavin tilted his head to the side and wondered just what the girl was trying to do. Something about someone being slashed by the throat? Killing? Where he came from a hand signal accross the throat like that came right before they pointed to their target, an order to kill in the heat of a battle. But, it really didn't seem dangerous in the cells at that moment, so Gavin was beyond confused. Maybe to shut up or wind up dead? He had absolutely no idea at this point, but rather be dead than rot, right? Though Luther was coming, so it's not like he'd rot anyways. The blond sighed, he didn't have a problem with not talking, but not talking wouldn't get him anywhere.
Thankfully, this girl's foot just kept moving, so Gavin didn't have to. He observed and was able to focus directly on her, even if not with his eyes. Words however didn't come to him, even if he did want to say something. What was to be said? Anything vital had been. It wasn't like asking how the weather was was going to be much of a surprise. Frustration was hitting him like a sledgehammer, and it was prying at him to use more of his magic. It was always easier to vent like that, it made it so that Gavin could be the calm, stoic guy that he was without too much of a problem. While it was extrmeley straining to set up a barrier around the girl, it wasn't impossible. It was one of those things he was taught but was never adept to, sort of like healing and the whole spectrum of magics. Water, earth, recovery, dark magic, they were all useable just very limited to the point of frustrating and that after using them one would want to sleep. Lightning and wind were what made the blond feel empowered, they felt limitless. Slamming his hands around the bars of his cell, Gavin smirked. Voltage was spreading everywhere freely, probably reaching more than just the floor they were on too, though completely avoiding the girl that Gavin had put a little bubble around, translucent in color and water in nature, making the electricity more attracted to it than to the girl that was envelopped by the bubble. The hard part would now be that when he stopped and the barrier was no longer needed to not splash her in the face. From his experience, woman didn't particularly enjoy that, and the last thing Gavin needed was a very angry woman on his hands when he had nowhere to escape to. Gavin took his time however, now trying to follow his lightning more than anything else, around the building, trying to find out where he was with his senses. Might as well utilize needing an energy drain. It wasn't like the image was that fantastic, but it was better than nothing. It showed him enough that Luther would have an easier time finding it at least. 'I'm below ground somewhere. I think the building is pretty large itself. I can't tell that high up, but there's more than two floors, lots of security. Oh cra-' Immediately stopping his fit of lightning, Gavin completely forgot about the barrier he had up with his attention diverted and all water instantly smacked the girl at full velocity. Only when he heard the sploosh did Gavin turn to face the girl and instantly get fright in his eyes. He had just dunked a woman in water after he had burned her. What a great way to start a friendship. Not to mention, the pounding of footsteps that were coming in his general direction now.

The second the current stopped and the water came towards her Alice opened herself to it. Most of it was absorbed immediately, and what little was left hit her or the floor around her. Her body healed old wounds, the new burns, and she regained some of her voice... She just hoped it was enough. She heard the footsteps too. Loud and running. She looked at the boy who was shocked at the water hitting her. Probably expecting her to be mad...
She strained her voice. Praying there was enough for her to speak. "Mo-re... Wat-" and it was gone. For the first time since she got here she could feel the ground below here. The real ground. Not the cement. And she was getting the fuck outta here. 'A huge root smashed through the ground and then through her bars, and then through his. She did what she could for him. To repay the kindness he didn't even know he had done. She knew her way around a good part of this floor... or she could just try to break up and out.... If she ran into anyone she would just end up back here.....' and that's where she stopped. The steps were to close to do any of that without a fight. The plan was to flawed. Maybe he would understand what she needed. But for now she stood in her cell and waited. Wondering what the faceless people would do to her today. She held unto the bars pretending to be weak and confused. When her body was willing to go through hell to see the light of day again. If it was the chick... A smirk appeared on her lips as her eyes became wild. Humans were so... breakable. The last door opened and there was quite a few people walking her way. Well, their way. She lost the smirk, but not the look. Maybe the good Dr. will give her some more water. With all that has to be healed being her throat it would be a good day to see him. The man walk straight to her while the other waited back a ways. He was the leader of this pack, and they all looked scared outta their minds. Its amazing what one can see even when the face is blocked. Body language is a powerful thing. She looked up into his blank face and smiled. Just like that she was three feet off the ground with a hand around her throat. He sent her flying into the fair wall of her cell, but even from there her eyes taunted him. 'Come on your idiot open the door. I dare you.' she thought and the smirk never left her face. "What are you smiling about? Stupid woman, don't you know your gonna die down here." He stopped talking and just looked in the cell... she was sitting there hands behind her head, eyes closed, and smirking. Giving the 'I know more then you' vibe. As soon as the lock clicked open she kicked the door full force into him sending him flying backwards into the wall at such an angle that when he hit he snapped his neck. She looked at the group of followers. Her eyes shining purely predator, and they ran. The doors took a while to open on the end, and she was assuming the current took out the cameras. They got to the end of the hall and were trapped. She picked up the keys and tossed them at the boy. Forgetting herself then in what was the happiest day of her life. She was finally almost free. And all because someone decided putting a person that can generate water near a water healer was a good idea. Gotta love the idiots. She was out of practice killing with just her hands, but by god it was so much better then a quick death would've been. Even though she was almost fully healed her strength was not back yet, and she hadn't realized this before.. oh well. They deserved it. Six dead men lay in the doorway of the first door. The second was going to be hard to get through without one of them... She took the closest badge and walked through the door. _.:~*~:._.:~*~:._.:~*~:._.:~*~:._.:~*~:._.:~*~:._ "So why did you want to join Alter (S)aints Riley?" her voice was pleasant but didn't have the seductive effect she had wanted. "Trust me, you don't want to know about my life. Don't ask. I'm here now. It's just a job." "Just a job..." she said it with air quotes and a confusing look. "It's a top secret job. One that has ties with every government system out there. We have so many buildings in so many countries... Just a job doesn't cut it." "Look, just show me to my room. I'm not in the mood to open up to a stranger. I was told to come here so I did. End of story." "Oh? So your a good little dog that follows orders?" she waited for a response. Waited for the rage... but nothing happened. "A better one then you. Which is saying a lot. Now, I'd like to get to my place before I get my first assignment. It's been a long trip. A nap would be nice." He kept the anger at bay and waited. She began to walk away from him and he pictured ripping her head from her body. God this was not a good start to the day. He was brought to the housing complex right across the street from the building he had entered before, but he got there via underground tunnel. This place had way to much money, and way to much influence. Every country? She had to be kidding. No top secret company would work with every government. It was bad business. "Number 13, We need you for training tomorrow morning at 6am. Don't be late. Walk back through the tunnel take a right at the end and walk till you find Room - 01" She turned and gave a huff. Seems she was hoping to have some fun with him. Oh well, he wasn't interested. He set his stuff down and knew the second he walked in the place was bugged. Mics and cameras everywhere. God this was hell.... - enter time skip =3 - Current washed over the building. Riley knew that current. How the hell did that idiot get himself trapped? He was probably on the [max security list] and Riley had been here three years and had only just been bumped to 14.0. This was insane. He was about ready to blow it all and break out anyone he could... He still had no word on his brother. He was beginning to give up hope. Yet if Gavin was here then Luther wasn't to far away... even if he wasn't behind bars, which would be the better of the two outcomes, he would still be helpful. "Yo, Riley?! We need help! Someone just bumped you to 15. Lucky you. Lets go." His higher up, and the one guy that he liked in the whole place motioned for him to come over. Without thinking he rushed to the group of men waiting in the wings. "Group Alpha already went down there. The higher ups think that they won't survive. Got me wishing I was a lower level..." He smirked. "Not scared are you Riley?" "No sir, not scared. What kinda monsters we dealing with?" "Cut the sir crap already Riley. I've told you enough, the name is Adam. Monsters? Yeah, well the only two in the area down stairs right now are a freakin' psycho girl. She doesn't seem to care much if she lives or dies. And the second... well we don't know much about yet. Doc didn't get to see him yet..." the man tried not to show everyone how worried he was... but he was pretty spooked. "You scared of a girl Sir?" Riley ignored the request to use his name, again. He would not care enough about anyone here to use there names. He was here for his brother. Nothing else. "It's in the stars. It's been written in the scars on our hearts. Your head is running wild again, my dear. We still have everythin'. We're not broken, just bent. I'll fix it for us. Our love's enough. "

Not quite sure what to make of the situation, Gavin just stared at the girl. Well, she was trying to speak now, that seemed to be a good sign. However, she wasn't speaking in anything legible, that was for sure. 'More what' It made absolutely no sense to the blond, and he just concluded that he'd ask later as running footsteps greeted their presence. Not really wanting to cause any sort of reaction, he just shifted off to the side of his cell, leaning against the wall with his back, observing whatever scene would unfold in front of him.
Burning gazes and snerks made up what Gavin had on himself, but the girl, someone was talking to her now, though not before hurting the girl. Gavin sighed, they weren't going to die down here, at least not him, and the girl he wouldn't just leave behind to be hurt like that. He'd kill the person who had just spoke if it came down to that, gladly. And something was wrong with the guy's face the more that Gavin listened in. He sounded normal enough, but when Gavin focussed to see just who it was, he was greated by sort of mirage closing off a very awkward, mutated face. To be in power one must have had a lot done to them too, obviously by the looks of things. The blond wasn't about to find out if this position of power would also be what he was in for though, and he, in a very stealthily and unknowing manner sent a little zap through the floor to the man. Gavin just smirked and tilted his head up towards the ceiling when it seemed to enrage the man enough to cause him to open the door. The unfortunate poor soul had an angry woman to deal with, a very angry woman at that. In not more than an instant though, Gavin's view on the girl completely changed. She had just lobbed the guy straight accross the room, with the door. The girl's strngth seemed like she was superwoman now, and she was blazing through, killing the rest of them as he was in shock. It was as if she had been used to killing people and was an assassin herself. At least now Gavin could conclude that he was in there for a reason, not just a freak accident since she was just as strong as him, if not more, in the brute strength department. Chances were that she was stronger, she'd be more evenly matched with Luther instead of the blond for a test of strength. Gavin almost missed the keys when they were chucked at him, only snatching them at the last second, pulling himself out of his trance. There was no better time to flee than now, especially since the first wave of enemies had already been taken down. In his haste, Gavin rushed to the bars and got himself out, fully prepared to bolt for the exit now. He had a good basic imagery and layout of the first few floors up, though not enough to get to ground level. As he went he'd observe more, hoping that now with the girl out she wouldn't mind a minimal voltage running through her for the journey out. She seemed like she was in much better condition. No burns, no open wounds, no bruises. Something had happened, it was as if magic had consumed and had healed her completely. It was a something that made Gavin's brain rebel against him, pushing it to be found out later, when there was no danger of being locked up somewhere for a very long time. Somewhere that had stagnant air and needed a light bulb or two to make it look half civilized. Running now to catch up with the girl, Gavin felt happy to stretch his legs. It had been somewhere around 16 hours since he had had a good walk he figured, if not more depending on whatever disgusting drugs they had put into his system to close up his wound on his back that pierced his shoulderblade. It was going to make fighting difficult, but at least he was primary left handed, although ambidextrous in technicality. Not to mention, he had something that could be used as a weapon, even if they weren't the greatest and were close combat only. Keys were pretty sharp tools, and could be lethal at any point that magic wasn't an option, as exciting, or as effective. 'So the chick can use magic? Gravy, the only place I know of that could be used as a prison to contain magic-users is that place we were assigned to a while back. You know, where they're doing all those experiments to try and better the human race, blah blah. Supposedly they had a massive security system that couldn't be beaten by any element, wear, or tear; patrolled by a bunch of guards that made brute strength impossible too.' 'Looks like electricity beat it.' Gavin snarked at his cousin, knowing full well that even though he may have knocked out some of their electronics, there was a lot more yet to come. Cameras, computers, and the like were just the first step to a secutiry system. Anything worth their while was going to have a lot more, Gavin knew that just from breaking into homes to get to his targets. After 5 years of being in the business, he had seen just about everything too. 'Looks are deceiving. Watch out, Gav. I'm getting there as soon as I can, it's a 30 minute drive, 10 minutes if I make the pedestrians run.' Gavin smirked. He could expected Luther in about 5-8 minutes then. Pedestrians weren't just going to run, they were going to become cheetahs or zombies. The choice was completely up to them. And it was a good thing too, an entry from the entrance would spread the forces thin, and Luther was carrying the blond's gunblade, rifle, and handgun with him, so he'd be just about fully armed when they met, excluding the daggers that were usually carried in between on his belts. It was a good thing too, with it being a magic prison from what was assumed, then chances were the people could use magic and would be able to protect themselves against bullets. It wasn't uncommon in the day and age that they were in. All the crazy stuff that they were passing completely avoided Gavin's mind, not wanting to even know what half the stuff they were going through was. Whatever it was, it didn't look pleasant. The only thing that the blond concerned himself with was keeping the same pace as the girl. They'd be stronger as a team anyways, fighting for a common goal, even if they knew nothing about each other and the risk that the team work could backfire if they were caught fighting together. No practice, no knowledge, it was like trying to tell a stray dog to sit. One needed some really good luck. But, as the pair headed up another floor, making it three floors that they climbed, they were stuck in a tiny, single profile hallways that was greated by none other than a team of what could be considered guards. It was almost as if they had waited, and considering that the walls were entirely lined with rubber, it wasn't a far off bet in Gavin's mind. This was peachy. Rubber could burn though, right? Gavin sighed to himself, more magic that would drain him, but it was worth a shot, so he gladly lit fire to the entire hallway and grabbed the girl by the arm. "There has to be another way out, emergency exit, something, and we can get ahead of them. If not, we'll lose them in this mess of a building and get out this way once the rubber is melted and cooled."

When they reached that hallway Alice knew they were in trouble. Quickly her mind thought back to where the nearest bathroom was. No way to talk to him until she fully healed. And that Fire was screaming magic. She knew it would take a while to burn out, and she also knew no one on there teams were magically gifted. So she broke free of his hold and walked down the hall. She could have done something else... Like kill them all where they stood, but healing was the first thing on her mind. Maybe she was just getting a little cocky too.
The current he had been sending through the building was taking a toll. God how was she going to explain to him that that HURT. There had been enough water to heal all but her voice before, but now old wounds felt like they were opening on her back. The Doc wouldn't let them leave... Something told her that in the back of her mind... The way he had been so... possessive... She didn't think they would make it out. Seven doors down on the right she walked into a little room, much like the one she always visited. Maybe it was the same one for all she knew. She walked over to the sink and turned on the water. She didn't care if he had followed her or not. Right now she wasn't paying attention to anything but the healing. Placing her hands in the water her body started to glow faintly a light blue-ish tint. She stayed like that for a while.. maybe around eight minutes. She was lost in the water. None of her senses were working. She was purely defenseless, and somewhere in the back of her mind she prayed that the boy would keep her safe. She didn't want to end up back in a cell... _.:~*~:._.:~*~:._.:~*~:._.:~*~:._.:~*~:._.:~*~:._ The fires were to much for any of them to stand. They were a group of ten just waiting for the fires to run their course. Riley had seen him. Gavin, with a girl? God that was priceless. He was smiling to himself as he watched the fire. "What are you crazy? Back your ass up or you'll get burned." It was Adam but Riley didn't care. It had been so long sense his body had felt magic. He suddenly would give anything to be on the other side of that hall helping those two escape. As well as any other gifted he could break out. He wanted to save his brother... But didn't even know if he was alive anymore. Gavin would help him... probably... "Sorry Sir. Better idea." He turned towards them and smirked. "I hope you can forgive me..." and he disappeared..... Only to reappear on the other side of the hall. "Gavin..." He walked toward the blond his hands in the air to show he wasn't going to hurt him. He was still in the uniform so he knew that Gavin wouldn't trust him... but he hoped he would notice who he was.. and maybe remember him? Maybe... "It's in the stars. It's been written in the scars on our hearts. Your head is running wild again, my dear. We still have everythin'. We're not broken, just bent. I'll fix it for us. Our love's enough. "

When the girl ripped out of his hold, Gavin grunted. He wasn't holding her with a death grip or anything, but she was strong and fiesty. Maybe she knew where another exit was and was heading in the direction fast without any curtosy for the sake of getting out of there as soon as possible. Either way, Gavin ran after her, catching up and following closely behind. A small frown lingered on his face as he saw their destination however, and he cringed a little as the girl opened the door and went in. There was no exit in the washroom, it was only a place to get trapped inside of and an easier place to be cornered and defeated. Gavin was definitely considering leaving the girl behind at this rate and just heading out himself. After all, the girl hadn't even said anything to them since they had metm other than 'more what', which was basically uselless.
The glow on the girl's hands however attracted Gavin's attention, captivating his senses and even stopping his flow of electricity for a little bit with his mind concentrating on that instead of his self defence mechanisms. It was a bright, glowy, like a glow stick that had been cracked a few too many times. It had a purely organic sense to it though, not synthetic like a glow stick, and sort of like how magic when it was used. Only when he focussed on the girl for a bit did he notice that she looked like she was gradually looking more youthful and revitalized. It was slightly slipping his mind, he had never seen anything like it before, but was the water and glow in her hands what was making her like that? To Gavin, although however unlikely the conclusion was, it made sense. The girl after all did become more peppy after he had dunked her in water from his barrier around her just being forgotten about. Gavin's eye's flickered to pure hostility as he felt a presence come near him, not far away now since it was with their own, slow footsteps that Gavin had heard them. They were way too close. The man that was approaching him now had his hand up, but hell to that, the man could use magic. With nothing short of a growl, Gavin turned right back around from the direction he was going to follow the girl and took a swipe at slimming his fist into the other with his electricity. The blond didn't even want to know how this guy knew his name. In his hostile, violent ways, Gavin's dog tags started to spark on his chest, fully showing that he was riled up for a good fight now, unarmed or not. It was only when his electricity discharged again did something pull him back. A small, tiny sense of familliarity. It was a tiny little feeling that Gavin wanted to crush, to kill instantly and let his training and instincts take over, to just kill the man. Yet, what was even the point at that rate. It not like the guy had approached him with hostility. Cut the man some slack, was what Gavin figured for a few moments, trying to piece together exactly what was going on. The sense of familliarity was slowly fading, and it was only small to begin with. He knew this man, but not from where. Either he was someone he worked with long ago, someone that he had met years ago and had now forgotten from the time gap, someone of high political power, or someone who he had fought against and was strong enough to live through the outcome. The latter could be struck off the list, Gavin knew all of their faces pretty well, and the man in front of him was not any of those. A seventeen year old mind only had room for so many names and faces over the years anyways. What better way to find out which of the other options than to ask? "Who are you?" Gavin hissed out, not fitting his soothing, soft voice at all. It was like have the fluffiest bunny one could find spewing acid right at someone's face. Despite that however, Gavin was fully in his battle position, prepared to take this guy on should he even move one muscle other than the ones in his lips. The electricity was basically sparking right off him now and arking off his hair. ------------------------- 4 minutes. 4 minutes was all it took Luther as he sped accross town in a stolen, governemnt vehicle. Always had to be government, there was no way he was going to get in trouble for anything else than what he could wiggle out of. Of course, it had taken a few extra minutes to ensure it was indeed owned by the government and not an innocent citizen, but that was hardly mentionable. Going 160mph and having the cops following you really allowed for everyone to get off the road and for the cops to fall behind. By the time he had gotten to the place that he was so dearly hopeing his cousin was in, he barely registered that there were brakes on the vehicle, smashing the thing right into the building and using magic to create and handy dandy way out while the car neatly made his introduction for him. "Yeah! Let's burn this pile of rubble to the ground!" Luther was cocky enough, smirking the whole while while he was speaking. There was no way he could be wrong anyways, he was always right about these sorts of things. Always. He was that good, and he stroked his own ego. Gavin's weapons were unfortunately weighing him down, but he made it accross the first floor to find the stairs without too much of a problem. It was odd to him, no one was there. Maybe it was because he was so awesome that they all peed their pants and fleed downstairs. Or maybe they were after Gavin and that "super pretty awesome girl that Gav can't take his attention off of". Luther picked the earlier. It sounded better, both as a situation and alas, another ego booster. To say that Luther had self esteem issues was like saying that water doesn't feel like wet. The only problem now was that there was this stupid security clearance thing that was in his face telling him he couldn't go down. Screw security codes. Luther tackled the door down, bringing in some magic to back him up. After all, he was recovery and buffs, he could do those sorts of things to bring up his brute strength. While not being elemental was sort of a let down at times, it sure had physical perks too, note the really nice six pack that could basically be seen under his off-white dago tee. Luther was incredibly proud of that. Though chances were that he looked like some pretty boy with his black, loose fitting jeans and light leather belt. He wore Gavin's belts, but no one needed to know that. The only thing that would make him really look mean was the tattoo he had below his left eye; three spikes with dots in between, tribal flame on the ends. Browns eyes smirked as he saw his first victims. Luther didn't even waste his time as he pulled out his handgun and just fired at them. It was sort of depressing to the brunette; no one was defending themselves with magic, and they would all die from the bullets, not even staying to up be slashed by his own gunblade. The only upside was that it would make the journey down to Gavin faster.

"Gavin, man, Don't you remember me? It's Riley... We used to work together. It was a long time ago. I've been here, undercover, trying to find my bro. I'm not going to hurt you." He stopped in his tracks the second Gavin had turned around. He was anything but defenseless, and he knew he was dangerous. Yet, that was only to people like the ones that ran this place. He was on Gavins' Side.
"Where Luther? Did he get caught too? They shouldn't have known about you... I didn't even know you were here until I felt the current..." He was afraid Gavin wouldn't remember him. His blue eyes scanning the room trying to find a way to protect himself if Gavin thought he would be better dead... He wasn't sure if he could take him. It had been three years since he fought with his powers, and without them he would be useless against Gavin.... ---------------------- Alice saw that pretty little lake again. The one in her dreams, and she saw him sitting there beside it. The two things she loved in this world. Both that had been ripped from her. Tears ran down her face while the glow started to fade. She had another two or so minutes but she felt her voice start to come back. The silent sobs turned low crying. She was having trouble breathing. She didn't want to face that panic attack now. She had to much to worry about. Yet she saw his face... burned. He was gone. Forever. And it was all her fault. How would she ever forgive herself. What would she do when she got out of here? There was nothing left for her on the outside... She was worthless. Helpless. Broken. Her knees buckled under her weight, which wasn't much considering she hadn't had much to eat or drink in a long time, and she rested her head against the sink. Her hands still touching the water enough to heal her for the next minute or so. Then she would be perfect.... only not really. "It's in the stars. It's been written in the scars on our hearts. Your head is running wild again, my dear. We still have everythin'. We're not broken, just bent. I'll fix it for us. Our love's enough. "

Gavin pryed his memory for answers to this 'Riley's' question, screwing up his face in the process as if it would make everything simpler to think about. Nothing was coming, he didn't remember this guy at all. Yet, his emotions were telling him that the what the man was saying was exactly right. Not to mention, Riley knew about Luther too, so if couldn't be as if he hadn't had something to do with them if he didn't research the pair religiously.
'Luther? I know you're busy beheading someone, but you know who this guy is?' 'Eh...Yeah! Gav, remember, we worked with him just before we were given the mission about the Altar Saints thing about three years ago, when you still had super pudgy cheek syndrome instead of normal pudgy cheek syndrome. He left then, and we were reassigned for some reason. Ge'ez, and I'm the one with the fail memory.' Crossing his arms and easing off his body, Gavin took off his intensity on Riley. Not to the point where he would just let his full defense system down to the other, but so that he wasn't hyped up and about to kill. even if he was exactly who he said he was, there had been a three year gap, people change. Though really, Riley looked much smaller than what memory served him now that Gavin remembered. Blame it on the fact that he had grown so much in the three years previous, away from any and all contact with Riley. With his normal soft voice again, Gavin explained to the other: "Luther's on about the second floor down right now. He's having a hard time with the layout. I was the only one that was caught, and I have no idea why. I guess I was in the wrong place at the wrong time. Do you know where your bro-" Gavin's attention shifted like instantaneously like a puppy that had just found something shiny. This was one of the downsides being noted of vibrations as a top priority for vision. Sometimes it just completely cut off a conversation. Turning around and heading through the door, Gavin just simply saw the girl partially on the floor, partially on the countertop of the sink , crying. It was...odd. She hadn't said a word, was breaking out of this place and intense, and now she was crying. Seemed like more of an emotional wreck than anything else. Gavin didn't really know what to do, but hugs were good, right? That's what Luther always did to him when he was feeling down. Without any further thought, Gavin went to hug the girl, trying to stabilize her on her feet while he was at it. That could be used as an excuse against Luther's 'oh la la, Gavvie hugged a girly' that he was no doubt going to get when they met up and where out of this place. Even in the seriousness of the moment, Gavin couldn't help thinking about the consequences of being with his cousin 24/7. ----------------- Panting, Luther was about halfways down now. He wasn't quite sure how much farther to go, but he would just keep on trucking since he had now felt Gavin's current through the floor, fully content to be clearing part of the way. Luther's killing streak had probably been broken then and there. It looked like a massacre had occured in the building, and in a way, it had been one. The duo was going to be a in crap load of trouble for all the bloodshed, that was certain. The superiors were not fond of having big messes to clean up. About to go down to the third floor below ground level however, something caught the brunette's eye. A scientist. A really demented looking scientist that was snickering over something he had in his lab coat. All Luther couold think about was how much of a freak the guy was. Yet, something was telling him to run his ass off. Unfortunately for him, he didn't.

Alice felt arms around. Kind and warm. She thought for a moment it was in her mind. That he was back.. holding her again... Then she realize that he was not there. She was back in that damnable place. In the bathroom where she had run to get water, and it wasn't him... it was the boy? Her faced flushed a little because it was odd to have someone she didn't know hold her that way.
"I-I'm sorry... I wanted to... talk to you sooner..." Her voice was almost completely normal but it didn't want to work... rebelling against her remembering the pain of being broken. "I-I'm fine now.. My voice... It was the least important to fix so it was last... The water from earlier really helped me... Thank you..." She turned in his arms and looked at him. Her green eyes shining like emeralds even in the dim room. "My name is Alice." "Gavin... We got an issue out there..." Riley said from outside the door. He knew it was a bathroom. He had the floor plans memorized. He had to make sure they could get out of there. His background showed. He was a fighter, and he, like Gavin, didn't like that there were in the room... It was a trap waiting to happen. "We need to move now. Where is Luther?!" the stress in his voice let on he was worried. The fires were dying down. The team was ready to run through... He couldn't trust himself with magic. Gavin was.. he cocked his head sideways... busy with a girl... god there was no getting used to that. Luther would give him shit for it later. Alice looked at the man in the doorway and panic rushed through her. She started shaking... which Gavin wouldn't have noticed if he wasn't so close. She tried to reach for her calm space... Tried to form words... "He... You..." Her panic made it hard to speak. She didn't understand. This man was in uniform. His face was hidden like the rest. He was BAD... Wasn't he? "It's in the stars. It's been written in the scars on our hearts. Your head is running wild again, my dear. We still have everythin'. We're not broken, just bent. I'll fix it for us. Our love's enough. "
