I haven't played through all of the Knoxx expansion. I did some of it before at my ex's place... before I dumped him. =P I'm going to be spending every last PSN card I have on all of the expansions once we get through the main storyline.

Well, the gun normally comes with 0% accuracy, so the bullets end up going everywhere, but if you get lucky it can spawn as high as like 45%, I think.

Edit: @Dolly, Knoxx is easily the best one. The Armory has over 100 chests to loot in it and there's a glitch in the floor you can use to not activate the timer that kicks you out usually (if you're the sort who would do that sort of thing. I am. :p)

We're all mad here.
Reminds me of Perfect Dark when one got far enough into the game to get the really wierd weapons, like the alien one that could shoot through walls but you couln't tell who you were shooting at since it was essentialky infared vision. I was a fan of the Halo needleer. :).

What are the controls like? I'm a big stickler for that. I love Unreal for PC because the controls were so easy, basically the mouse was "steer" and the left button was the trigger. They keyboard was for forward and backward movement and strafing. Morrowind uses the same set up and so does Time Splitters on the controller: right directional stick was forward, backward, strafe left and right, and the left was steer (up, down, turn.) It took a bit of figuring out but once we (my friends and I) got going with it is was great.

The controls are pretty standard FPS fare, left stick walks around, right stick looks around, right shoulder button fires weapon.

I think you can customize them, too.

I bought the original game used on eBay for about $30, if that helps.

I love eBay.

I might be getting some spare money soon, via my roommate, but I want to make sure living expenses are covered first.

Borderlands wasn't a good experience for me sadly. I did terribly in EVERY fight for some reason and yes on the lowest difficulty. =(

The needler in Halo annoyed the mess out of me whenever I tried to use it lol It's homing ability did me no good, I couldn't kill anyone with that weapon unless I was bashing them (and I'm bad at melee combat in general haha). The needler Rifle that comes later though was beast! I think I started to favor that over the carbine.

Hmm. The only thing I can think of why Borderlands would be that hard is because of thee RPG elements. Despite looking like a shooter, it really is an RPG and if you get unlucky with weapon drops, it can make it really hard to deal with the enemies. Plus, some enemies require certain types of weapons to take down easily and if you don't get a good one to drop, it can make it really miserable trying to get through.

As for Halo, despite playing the second game nearly to death (only one I ever played) I can barely remember anything about that series.

Halo never did interest me, but the only first person shooters I really enjoyed were either the fantasy ones or the ones with an obvious RPGish look, like Hexen. I know that Halo is probably a good game, it just never appealed to me.

I went through a phase where I loved first-person shooters, but now I don't really have any interest in them at all. Borderlands was an exception, thanks to the RPG elements. Fallout 3, too, but that's even more of an RPG and less of a shooter.

I played Fallout 1 and 2, is Fallout 3 more "Elder Scrolls" style?

Yes, from what I gather. I never played 1 or 2.

The only shooters I can really tolerate are the ones with characters that I care about (like Vincent in Dirge of Cerberus) or themes/graphics that appeal to me. I played Prey and did all right, 'cuz anything involving alien abductions is just fine by me.

I tried Fallout 3 and liked everything about it except the shooter aspect. xD I died. Miserably.

The only shooters I ever really got into were the Rainbow Six games, mostly because they were so realistic (two to three shots from any weapon = you're dead). I used to play those online a lot. Other than that, I only really played FPSs to kill time with my DnD group while we were waiting on people.
