A thread about advertisements (Without the ads XD) | #1
So a good friend of mine (Espy and the Storm) told me that Trisphee was tight on cash, and that certain members are donating a ton of money just to keep Trisphee going on a relatively good server.
I also noticed that Trisphee does not use any advertisements...anywhere. Why is that? Is it a good thing (in users opinions)? Should Trisphee get ads to help fund stuff? Have you seen any interesting ads yourself? Leave a comment.

We do advertise in different ways. Like Taiki talks about trisphee on her webcomic's chat box. And I myself just made a Fanfiction that I hope helps Trisphee gain a few new members.
subtle ways but I hope they work. :3

I know that it was brought up in the knights thread, and I am not sure if cron was serious about the knights banning together to help trisphee. I've been trying to look into how much add space would actually cost.
Other then that like Demon says little ways. I've been linking people here when they ask me for art on other sites in hopes they will check out the rest of the site too. The problem is trisphee is going to get its ( what I feel ) 3rd wave of new users. It can be good or bad. Eventually if the site gets popular enough you are bound to run into trolls and hackers. It all depends really on how prepared the site is.

Hackers scare the hell outa me D: but I am sure coda can beat them up! :3
Trolls will probably be easy for me to deal with. Everysite will get them eventually but I hope we can bring in good users more then the bad trolly hacker ones :3

so... this is totally random but the first step in this tutorial I found on how to buy add space was to google your site.
And I am not sure if this is worth checking out but I find it amusing. http://www.statshow.com/trisphee.com Lol yeah I never understood how or why people would want to scam others for pixels, hackers ... I've been hacked. Luckily the guy was doing it for jollies instead of harm.

I'm sure we'll add ads eventually, but that too takes money to start. Also its important to pick where we'd advertise, through which company to make sure where the ads show up. I've heard stories of where webcomic artists have advertised through particular companies, and their ads showed up on some...risqué sites.

I could be mistaken, but it seemed to me that funk wasn't speaking of ads for trisphee on other sites, but rather ads for other sites on trisphee. Typically when there are ads on a website, the host gets paid a certain percentage when people click them

I really like my Trisphee to be ad-free, thanks. I would love to advertise Trisphee on other sites to get new members, though. I made a print ad for Trisphee for a project a while back! I shall now upload it to dA and maybe one of my, uh, 10 non-Trisphee watchers will see it? XDDD

Ah, I see. I just expected ads to be part of the every day kinda life, so I don't mind ads, so long as they're not pop-ups (I'll never forgive pop-ups).

I actually love advertising. that's my future career right there. but I still act like a regular person on the internet, using adblock and stuff. I believe that the future of online advertising is in word-of-mouth, and if you can pull it off, viral marketing. thing is, you can't usually pick what goes viral so it's tough to do.

I personally like websites that rank other websites, because that in itself is the advertising campaign. Many people make good websites. Of those, some are pretty successful and other cannot endure. Of those pretty successful, very few ever become successful enough to compare to other sites. For example, I bet there was probably a good hundred or so other websites like facebook before facebook.
