"I well have a tendency to peer into peoples minds, just for their names." Zac said sounding disappointed in himself. "I know all of the slayers, and I've helped quite a few of them including your mother." He said remembering the battle. "It's funny after I helped her she nearly cut my head off." He said falling back down to his knees. "Are you ok?" He asked concerned. He picked her up and quickly set her down on the couch. He turned his head to the door, "Damn it." Zac said feeling Kali's mother coming, but he didn't want to leave her alone until her asthma stopped acting up.

Kali shooed him away with her hand, "Go.." But it was too late.

The brunette known as Jane entered the apartment and froze as she saw Zac. Her eyes narrowed, "You..what the hell are you doing here? Get away from her!" Quicker than most humans could move, she threw her knife at Zac's forehead as she whistled for Solomon, "I thought I told you to get out of town."

Kali held up her hand, taking another breath of the medication, "Mom..wait.." She could hear the large cat bounding across the floor and jumping from the top of the stairs at Zac.

Zac quickly ducked down as the knife came flying at his head. He sighed, "Looks like you haven't lost a step my dear Jane." Zac said as he knocked out Solomon and caught him in mid air, he gently laid him on the ground. "Sorry Solomon, now Jane I don't wanna fight you. Even though I don't know why you hate me when I helped save your ass fifteen years ago." Zac said crossing his arms.

Fifteen years ago? Kali sat forward as her breathing became easier, "Mom please don't." She looked over to Solomon with a frown, "I told you not to go after him Solo." She quickly put her hands over her mouth, looking over to her mother, Oh shit..

Jane was about to respond to Zac when she heard her daughter mutter to Solomon, "You did what!? Kali..." She wanted to go over and interrogate her daughter, but would not approach the vampire, "I didn't require your help, I had everything under control..."Even if she was suffocating.. "Either get out of my house now or I will not be so kind as to let you keep living.."

Jasmine twisted a strand of her hair around her finger as she sat crossed legged in the middle of her floor. Sure, she could sit on her couch, but where was the fun in that? She was once again contemplating the event that had led up to this moment. Oddly enough, Adam, Zac's cousin was what was primarily on her mind. It seemed odd that the two were related. Since their views were so different. She wondered how that had happened.

"That is crap Jane that babysitter was suffocating her," Zac sighed, Damn it, Jane just be careful and protect Kali ok? There is a war coming and if you need anything you know how to find me." He sighed. "If you call living alone because your loved ones are all dead living." He gathered up his power, "By the way Kali is a great shot." Zac said winking to Kali as he disappeared.

Kali had no time to scurry off before her mother was upon her, "L-listen mom, I h-honestly didn't know about him until now. I-I should've listed to Solo when he started to act up. I'm sorry." She prayed her mother would believe her.

"I'm not worried about him hurting you Kali.." She sighed, sitting next to her daughter, "It's the other vampires I'm concerned about. They will know he's been here and would gladly try to hurt you because they know you two are..friends, so to say. Wait..what did he mean by 'great shot'?"

Kali tensed again, trying to keep herself calm so she wouldn't have another attack. "Ah..um..h-his cousin showed..up.."

She was instantly back to her feet, knife in hand, "Adam? What the hell was he doing here?"

She shrugged, "I don't know..suddenly he had me and I just..reacted..I stabbed him in this chest. I only wish I could've done it properly like you...Zac's right though Mom, this war could get dangerous...and..now that you know of him..perhaps, I should go to England with him.. I mean, I'd only hinder you with my asthma and..other things with me.." She really didn't want to go, but she wanted to make sure her mother would have all the time she'd need if she needed to be on long vampire hunts.

Jane was furious the moment the words came from Kali's mouth, "I can't let you go off with him. He may be 'vegetarian' but he's still a vampire nonetheless and he will always crave human blood. You'll still be in danger and I can't protect you half way across the world! Please, just, let me think of something."

Kali picked up Solomon as he began to come to, petting him gently, "I'll take Solo with me. He can make sure that Zac's the only vampire around me. I know how much these hunts mean to you, and I know that I only hinder you. B-besides...if I'm over there, you won't have to worry about coming home to another vampire trying to kill me."

She pinched the bridge of her nose, "And it's her fault you have that..asthma thing.." After a moment, she sighed, "Very well, but the second that this is all taken care of, you're coming home. Understand?"

She nodded, "I do Mother...and..Solo?"

She leaned back on the couch, closing her eyes and waving her hand lazily, "He's your cat.."

Zac landed in his house, "That was exciting wasn't it Barnaby?" Zac asked looking up. "Barnaby? Damn it!" He said as he teleported back to Kali's loft. "Um ya hi I seem to have misplaced Barnaby, have you seen... Oh no Barnaby." He said rushing over to Barnaby who was laying on the floor with Jane's knife in his wing. Barnaby screeched out in pain. "Shh Barnaby its fine ok?" He said pulling out the knife, "Now hold still." He said as he healed up Barnaby's wing. "Is that better?" He asked with a smile. Barnaby screeched and bit Zac's finger. "Ow what the hell?" He asked as his finger healed.

Barnaby screeched as he flew up off of the floor. "Well I forgot that you were on my head." He said as he watched him with light blue eyes. Barnaby screeched again and dive bombed Zac. Zac dodged and looked to him, "Well if you made noise sometimes I would of made sure you didn't get hurt." He said feeling odd arguing with a bat in front of Kali and Jane. Barnaby went at Zac's eyes after he screeched. Zac dodged again, "When we get home I will buy you all of the fruit you want ok." He said quickly spinning on his heels to see Barnaby.

Barnaby screeched and gently landed on Zac's head. "You are a pain you know that?" He asked looking up, "Don't you dare stab me with your claws." He said scolding Barnaby. He looked at Kali and Jane who had weird looks on their faces. "What he is a pain sometimes." He said with a smile. Barnaby screeched his approval. "Oh ya now you agree with me you crazy bat." Zac said looking up.

The two watched silently as Zac and Barnaby argued.

Kali shook her head, "It's fine..umm..when is your plane leaving again?"

Jane stood without a word and headed upstairs, not wanting to around Zac any longer.

[Bovice]

"Well it was supposed to leave twenty minutes ago, but since I wasn't on it its still at the hanger, why?" Zac asked feeling like he wanted to take a nap. "If your coming along, hurry up, and yes Solomon can come I will just have to be in a TK bubble." Zac said with a smile. "Sorry to keep you waiting Jasmine but me and Kali will be on our way in a few minutes." Zac said via telepathy.

"He'll behave, and he stays with me at all times..I hope you don't mind a cat in the cabin. I'll have him on his harness and leash." She hurried upstairs after setting Solomon down, rushing to back a few things she would need. After a few minutes, she came down surprised to see Solomon sitting there so nicely.

"Good boy, now come on. Go find your harness." She already had the lead, but she had no idea where he hid the damn harness. He meowed and scampered off to fetch it. Kali moved between a few more areas, grabbing a few things, before suddenly stopping, "Oh my gosh! The painting! I should.." She hurried upstairs as Solomon came down with his harness in his mouth.

She came down moments later after putting the painting in a carrying case; having about twenty different sizes, she found one to fit it. She swiftly put the harness on Solomon, clipped the lead, then grabbed her suit case with her free hand; other left holding the painting and Solomon's lead. "Alright I'm ready."

"If I have this rat in there, he should be fine." Zac said pointing to Barnaby. Barnaby screeched in anger. "Oh hush you know I'm kidding." He said as he watched Kali run around like a chicken with its head cut off. "Ok, now we have to go and get my car. So your are gonna wanna close your eyes and hold your breath." He said as he wrapped his arm around Kali's waist. "Ok in 3...2...1..." Zac said as he teleported them all to Jasmine's house. "You ok Kali?" Zac asked as he held her for a few seconds.

Jasmine looked over as the two suddenly appeared in her home. "Well that is what I call an entrance. Bravo." She smiled and stood, walking a little closer to them.

Kali nodded, clenching her eyes shut and covering Solomon's as they were suddenly transported to Jasmine's house. She couldn't help but feel dizzy and a tad out of breath, but she nodded, leaning on Zac for a moment before standing on her own, "Y-yeah I'm okay."

She looked to Jasmine as she came over, quickly taking another few steps away from Zac, holding Solomon on a tight lead, "Ah, careful..he's not fond of strangers..." The cat was obviously displeased with being so close to a vampire and a complete stranger.

"Whew, thanks. Its been awhile sine I teleported technically four people." Zac said slightly out of breath. "My car is right out front. Kali just make sure he doesn't tear up my leather seats." He said gaining his composure. He opened the door and headed to his car.

Jasmine grabbed her stuff and walked out after him, stopping to look back at Kali. "Glad you can make it." She said with a smile. She was certainly glad the girl was all right, and that she was going to be out of harms way, but she was beginning to think that Zac possibly held a more than platonic affection for both of them. She figured that would end badly, so she certainly hoped not.
