Holden heard his phone buzzing in his cup holder. He grabbed it and read the text.
"What's wrong? Whenever you tell me to be at your house at a certain time something's up." Alicia said.
He put his phone back in the cup holder. He sighed, "Well this day was perfect before my mother showed up." He said rubbing his cheek.

Holden was sitting in his room waiting for his dad and Alicia. "Hopefully she shows up before dad does." He said as he heard a knock on his door. "Come in." He said pulling his knees up to his chest.
"Sweety what's wrong?" Alicia asked walking in.
He sighed "Well all was great until my mom showed up."
Alicia closed the door, and walked over to sit on the bed. "What happened?"
"Well, um, me and Solomon were having a nice time. He owns horses you know." He said trying to think of how to explain it to her.
"Ya that's one reason that I chose him for you." She said with a smile.

Holden slightly smiled, "We went to the fair, and he let me ride his horse," He paused. "Not that kind of horse. Anyway after riding the horse for a few minutes I got down and gave him a kiss. And of course that's when my mother showed up." He said banging his head into the wall.
"I wasn't thinking that way, but that was so sweet of him." Alicia said patting Holden on his knee. She looked at his cheek. "What happened to your cheek?" She asked getting up and looking closer at it.
"My mom." He said downtrodden.
"She hit you?" She asked getting angry.
"Ya it's no big deal." Holden said trying to stop her from yelling at his mom.

"Yes it is a big deal, that's child abuse." She said clenching her fists.
"I'm not a child anymore." Holden said wanting to just disappear.
"You may be twenty but its still child abuse." She said.
"Please Alicia don't make this any harder than it already is." He said looking at her.
She sighed, "Fine but the next time she hit's you I am calling the police." She said sitting back on the bed.
"Ok, can I have a hug?" He asked letting go of his knees.
"Of course you can." She said standing up and giving him a hug.
Holden heard a knock on his door again. "Shit its dad, I will talk to you later." He said shooing her away.

"You better." She said kissing Holden on the forehead and walked to the door. "Hello Mr. Evans.
"Evening Alicia." He said with a straight face. "Holden your mother told me what happened at the fair today." He said closing the door.
"I'm sorry dad." Holden said grabbing his knees again.
"Why are you sorry?" He said sitting down on the bed.
"Because I'm gay." Holden said looking down at his knees.
"I know you are." Mr. Evans said with a smile.
"Wait you know? Since when?" Holden asked darting his head up.
"Um since you were ten I think." He said looking up and putting his index finger on his chin.
"But how?" Holden asked surprised.
"No offense but you always had more friends that were girls instead of boys." He said giving Holden a reassuring look.

"I can't believe you knew all these years." Holden said slightly happy.
"Ya, and I am happy for you." He said with a smile.
"Thank you dad." Holden said loosening his grip on his knees.
"You welcome son, and I am giving you your birthday present now." He said grabbing an envelope out of his jacket. He handed it to Holden.
"What is this?" Holden asked grabbing the envelope.
"Just open it." He said with a smile.
Holden opened the envelope and saw a check. "What's this?" He asked pulling out the check and looking at it. Holden's eyes went wide.
"It's part of you inheritance. Keep looking in the envelope." He said smiling.

Holden opened the envelope more and saw a key. "What is with the key?" Holden asked grabbing it out of the envelope.
Mr. Evans smiled. "It's for your new apartment." He said.
"Really? Oh my gosh thank you dad." Holden said hugging his dad.
"Your welcome, now tomorrow the movers will be here to help you." He said hugging Holden back. "Also I want you to be happy no matter if your gay, or straight." He said with a smile. "Now start packing." He said gently punching Holden on the shoulder.
"I will dad, and thank you again." Holden said with a smile. When his dad left he got up and started to pack.

Solomon kept himself busy for only a few hours. He didn't want to keep Holden waiting. He sighed, remembering the tingling on his cheek when Holden's mother hit the boy. Being telepathically connected to him did have its downsides. Although, he was able to learn that the boy's father was proud of him, and was giving him an apartment of his own. Oh goody! Private time~ He smiled a bit, he always monitored his friends; even though he rarely made any.

After quite some time Solomon went downstairs and to the complex's parking lot. He paused in front of three vehicles: a black motorcycle, an imported mainly illegal parts black sports car and a very nice jet black corvette. He pondered a moment. He didn't want to mess up his hair, but he thought Holden would love a ride on that; the imported car was currently pinned and a cop would pull him over the second he left the lot; and the vet was in need of a wash. Decisions, decisions, decisions.

Holden sighed sitting on his bed. He grabbed his phone to call Alicia. He dialed her number. "Hey Alicia." He said with a smile.
"Hey sweety, so what did your dad say?" She asked getting to the point.
"Well he gave me half of my inheritance, and a apartment. He also knew I'm gay." He said leaning back on his bed.
"Oh my gawd that is so cool Holden." She said with a squeal.
Holden laughed, "Ya it is but I have to go, I need to finish packing. The moving truck will be here tomorrow." He said smiling.
"Ok sweety, call me back later." She said hanging up the phone.
"I will." He said putting the phone down and went back to packing.

"Oh I'll just walk." With that, he glanced around making sure no one else was around and that he was in the blind spot of the the lot camera. With a quick thought, he vanished.

Milliseconds later, he appeared in Holden's back yard. He hurried behind a tree, just so no one could peer out the window and see him there. He then extended his mind over the property, noting were each family member was, and quickly found Holden's room. He grinned devilishly, Hellloo~ He peered around again, just to make sure he didn't miss anything, then hurried over to the correct wall.

He looked up to the second floor window which should be connected to Holden's room. There was no way a human could get to it without a ladder, but that's okay. Solomon was no human. He quickly checked everyone's positions again, then jumped up. He landed crouched precariously on the sill, knowing there was no way a human would manage to stay attached to the small 2 inch or so surface, but with him having that nice little power of telekinesis, he was perfectly safe. He crouched down, his one hand holding onto a protrusion so make it appear more likely that he was able to hold on humanly. He took his free hand, knocking quietly on the window and with a singsong voice he said, Oh Hooollddddeeennn~"

Holden jumped when he heard a knock on his window. "Solomon!" He said running to his window. He opened it, "How did you get up here?" Holden asked helping Solomon in. When Solomon was in all the way Holden gave him a hug and a passionate kiss.

Solomon smiled, climbing in with Holden's help. He held Holden close even after the kiss, "I'm just special like that." He looked around, noticing the bags, "Aw, are you running away? What'cha packing for?" He let him go, sifting through his items, "Oh pardon my nosiness. I'm curious about what makes you tick."

After casually going through one suitcase, he turned to look back at Holden, then around the room. He stepped over, gently touching Holden's cheek, "Did she hit you?" His face showed his dismay, "That is unacceptable."

Holden took in Solomon's smell and it was intoxicating. "I'm not running away my dad got me an apartment for my birthday." He said with a smile. Holden laughed when Solomon started rummaging through his stuff. "It's ok." He said with a smile. He jumped slightly when Solomon touched his cheek. "No it's fine, I've had worse for being gay." He said looking up at Solomon putting on a smile.

"Oh the privacy~" He whirled around, listening the the footsteps on the floor below, "She's lucky I was not there to see it.." He clenched his fists, seething silently. With a sigh, he turned around, grabbing Holden's waist and pulling him into a hug, "I will never let another hurt you again...ever" He gave Holden a quick kiss on the lips, turning around, "Damn that woman. It's like she has a Solo-dar."

He narrowed his eyes, looking around. Ah! The closet! He gave Holden another kiss then hurried inside, shutting the door and quickly making a little hole for himself to hide in.

Holden stood there when Solomon went to hide in the closet. "What in the world?" He asked as he heard a knock on his door. He looked at the door, and before he could say come in the door opened. He sighed seeing his mother. "What mom?" He said turning away.
"Don't you use that tone with me." She said crossing her arms.
"Well mom, I will be out of your hair tomorrow and you don't have to worry about me disappointing you." Holden said looking out the window.
"You will always disappoint me Holden. You may have your father fooled but not me." She said walking close to him.
"What the hell does that mean?" He asked stepping back from her.

"I don't care if you marry a nice woman and have three beautiful kids, I will always remember you making out with a whore of a man in public." She said uncrossing her arms.
"He is not a whore mom he is a kind and gentle man. You would know that if you weren't such a close minded bitch." Holden said feeling a new sense of power.
"You cannot talk to me like that, I am your mother!" She said stomping her foot.
"I don't have a mother." Holden said turning to her.
"You little slut how dare you say that, you are so ungrateful." She said.

"How dare you call your only son a slut? Huh answer me that mom, how is it gonna feel knowing that when you die the only reason I will be at your funeral is so I can spit on your grave." He said getting very angry.
"You fucking faggot how dare you?" She said walking so she was right in front of Holden.
"How dare I? How dare you call me a faggot?" Holden asked looking down on his supposed mother.
"My house I can call you what ever I want, and do what ever I want to you." She said wiping her hand on her pants.
"It's not your house its dads." Holden said knowing that she was gonna hit him again.

"It's mine just as much as it is his." She said.
"That's a lot of..." He said as she slapped him again. "Oh god please don't come out Solomon." He thought.
"Evelin!" Holden's dad yelled standing in the doorway.
"Steve." She said whirling around quickly.
"How could you do that to him? He's our son and your treating him like an animal." He said walking into the room.
"He deserves to be treated like an animal." She said angry that Steven was defending Holden.
"If he does then so do you. Get you goddamn ass out here now! We need to talk." He said very angry.

"This isn't over Holden." His mother said walking out with a huff.
"Listen Holden I'm sorry." Steven said with a sad look on his face.
Holden nodded holding his cheek. When his door was shut he fell to the ground and pulled his knees up to his chest ready to cry.

Solomon bit his lip until it bled. He knew that Holden would only get in more trouble if he jumped out now. He shook with anger, but remained in the closet. Once it was clear, he opened the door, his face pure fury, "Holden!" He rushed over to him pulling him close in a hug. "Calm down Holden, it'll be alright."

He glared hearing his parents just hit the stairs. Suddenly there was a crashing noise as he pushed Evelin with his telekinesis down the stairs. She deserved so much more, but that would raise suspicion. For now, it could just be that she slipped.

He held Holden in place, a slight glare still on his face as his father and sister clamored to help her up. She would be having a very bad rest of the day and he would ensure it.

Holden heard someone fall down the stairs but didn't care. He felt safe in Solomon's arms. He looked at Solomon "Let's go somewhere, anywhere but here," He thought for a second. "The park let's go to the park." He said trying to sake off what just happened. Holden let go of his knees and stood up. "Wait here I will get you a ladder." Holden said kissing Solomon on the cheek. Holden shut the door and saw his mother on the floor, he walked down the stairs and over his in pain mother. "Dad I'm going out I wont be late." He said grabbing his jacket.

Holden went out the door and went to the shed, he grabbed a ladder and brought it to his window. He leaned it up against the house. "Ok Solomon." He said holding the ladder steady.

Solomon nodded, "Of course, anything you want." He lot Holden go so he could jump out the window while he went to get the ladder. He waited until the door was closed then went to the open window, crawling out and jumping down. No sane human would be stupid enough to try this, but Solomon really enjoyed jumping out windows. The fall was quite fun.

He landed in a crouched position on the grass, quickly stepping aside as He heard Holden coming around with the ladder, quickly standing up and and stepping out of the way so Holden would not see him immediately. He shoved his hands in his pockets, waiting until the ladder was propped against the house before moving into view, "Boo."

Holden jumped a little bit when he heard Solomon behind him. "What? How?" he asked letting go of the ladder. He shook his head, "There's something your not telling me." He said looking at Solomon with his head cocked. He shrugged and grabbed his arm, "Come on my car is out front." He said with a smile. His cheek still burned but he didn't care much. "This is my favorite park, its very calming and beautiful." Holden said as he reached his car. He opened the door for Solomon and ran to his side of the car and got in. He sighed as he started the car. After ten minutes he pulled into the park and went to where he met Alicia earlier that day. "Isn't it beautiful?" Holden asked as he stopped. "Come, let's go sit on the table." He said getting out of the car.

Solomon shrugged, "I'm just highly skilled." He followed Holden to the car, not like he had a choice as he was being dragged. As they pulled up to the park, he nodded, getting out of the car after Holden. "Indeed it is." He followed Holden to the table and sat down.

He looked down at the table, lacing his fingers and resting his hands on the table. He bit his lip again, almost splitting it before he looked to Holden. "I don't normally do this the first time I meet someone, but..I feel that I have to tell you.." He sighed deeply, "I haven't been entirely honest with you."

He looked up to Holden, his eyes appearing to be a darker blue now, "I'm not here on vacation. I move back and forth between England and America every 4 years or so.." He watched as Holden's face became a bit confused. He took a breath, quickly lighting a cigarette and taking a drag before finishing, "I don't stay in any one place for too long as I'm sure someone would notice that I don't..well.." He took another drag, running his hand shakily though his hair. "I don't age. There. Dammit Holden I'll be straight with you." He looked Holden dead in the eyes, his own flashing red for a few seconds before turning to their traditional icy blue, "Holden..I'm a vampire." His eye twitched. He had never flat out told someone. Either he up and left or decided to make a meal out of it.

Holden was confused, but he sat there listening to Solomon. His eyes widened a little when he said that he was a vampire. "I think that this is what Alicia meant by that he's out there." He thought to himself. "Show me." Holden said slightly intrigued. As he said that another car pulled up. It was Alicia.
She got out and ran over to Holden. "Holden thank god your ok. I saw the ambulance at your house, and your car was gone and I thought you'd be here." She said giving him a hug. She stepped back and saw that he was confused, plus his cheek was beat red. "She hit you again didn't she? That bitch I'm gonna suck her dry." She stopped looking at Holden. "Um anyway as long as your ok." She said with a smile.

Holden hugged her back, but got really confused when she said "Suck her dry." "Wait did you just say suck her dry?" He asked feeling like he was in a TV show.
"No I didn't." She said waving her hands.
"Yes you did, are you saying your a vampire to?" He asked scooting back on the table.
"You told him?" She asked looking at Solomon. "Well I guess that means you really like him." She said while she pondered.
"You two are pulling my leg, there's no such thing as vampires." He said still scooting back on the table. He didn't know that he reached the end of the table and he pushed himself back again and went flying off of the table. His arm hit the seat snapping in half. Holden landed on the ground and cried out in pain, grabbing his arm. "Ahh my arm!" He yelled writhing on the ground.

Solomon was about to do something when he saw Alicia come over, "Dammit girl, you just won't leave me be." He frowned standing up and running his hands through his hair, "Alicia..watch your mouth.." It was too late. Holden was piecing it together, but he didn't quite believe it. He was about to catch Holden, noticing how close to the edge he was, but the boy was just out of reach, "Holden!"

He hurried to that side of the table, getting on his knees and forcing Holden up, "Relax, it's just broken." To him, broken bones were no issue, "Ali, can you make sure no one comes over? They don't need to see what I'm going to do next."

Solomon examined Holden's arm, using his telekinesis to assess the damage below the skin. Nothing extreme. He then wrapped the invisible force around Holden's bones, "This is going to hurt..a lot. Try not to scream. Okay?" Yeah, right. Of course he's going to scream. Oh well. Suddenly the force tightened on his wrist, forcing the bones in their appropriate places. Next, his cells went into overdrive, repairing the arm's affected area in seconds, dispelling the pain and any evidence that his arm was ever broken.

Solomon released Holden's arm, glancing at the boy before standing up. "As for the ambulance Ali, I pushed Evelin down the stairs after she hit him. I would love to just rip her apart..but, I don't think Holden would like that," he spoke in such low tones, barely moving his lips, that only Ali could hear him with her increased senses. "Don't hurt her though...I will deal with her in my own way. If she continues, then we can perhaps do something about it."
