Jaelynn nodded, standing as he did, "Be careful. Oh! See if you can find anyone from the Murai coven. They have some pretty strong elementalists." She smiled a bit as he walked off, looking back to the ground. An outline of where the two bodies were was torched into the concrete. She shook her head with a sigh, "I had better go speak with the coven..." And with that, she disappeared.

Jaelynn sighed, narrowing her eyes at the man before her, "That is not an option. I have specific instructions from the Council." She placed her hands on her hips, pondering.

Markus frowned, "The Council has become corrupt. Ever since Serus was murdered, our secret has gotten out, thanks to Seth's little show. Serus had the humans completely unaware while she was alive. If you would've acted, she woulds till be here today and half this crap would not be happening right now." He was silent for a moment, he knew he was right. "Are you sure you're fit to be the Antinori leader?"

Jaelynn snarled a bit, her eyes glowing brightly, "It's because of Seth that we're all alive. The Antinori's would have been eliminated 8 years ago if Seth had not taken care of her in that manner. She would've just regenerated once more and go on the attack until every one of us was dead.

"Serus may have been able to keep the humans unaware by taking over their minds, but that doesn't mean they would not have found out anyway. Layla could care less about keeping us a secret from the humans. She would've exposed us either way." She rubbed her temples, "Either way, you're right. The Council is corrupt and falling apart, but I still have to listen to them." She paused, closing her eyes, "Even if I don't want to."

Eight years later…

After Serus’ death Seth went exploring the United States for vampires who knew how to use the elements. While in New York Seth met a vampire named Elizabeth who was an elementalist vampire. Seth trained for a year, mastering all of the elements. When he was done mastering, he fell in love with Elizabeth. Seth could never love another woman as much as he loved Serus.

Seth and Elizabeth got married and had a child. Since Serus’ died the vampire covens went into chaos. Elizabeth’s coven went to war with another coven. Elizabeth died during battle leaving Seth to take care of his child. “Hey Jaelynn how have you been?” Seth asked wondering. “Are you still in South Dakota?” Seth asked. “I’m going to be back in a few day’s do you want to meet up?” Seth asked nicely. “Ok I’ll see you in a few days.” Seth said as he sat down in a chair.

When Seth went away Felix became the leader of the Augustin coven until Seth would return. Seth and Felix still kept in touch, Seth telling him about his adventures and Felix telling him how the coven is doing.
“Master Seth?” Felix asked the same night Seth talked to Jaelynn.
“Yes Felix and you don’t have to call me master anymore.” Seth said laying in his bed in New York.
“Sorry sir. Anyway do you know when you are coming back?” Felix said a little embarrassed.
“Soon Felix. I also have a surprise for you.” Seth said smiling.
“Ok sir.” Felix said.

“Daddy?” a little girl said standing in the doorway.
“What’s wrong hunbun?” Seth asked turning to look at the little girl.
“I can’t sleep.” The little girl said as she walked up to his bed.
“Come on in.” Seth said with a smile.
“Thank you daddy.” She said as she got in the bed.
“You’re welcome hunbun. Now good night we have some packing to do tomorrow.” He said as he placed a kiss on her forehead.

The next day Seth started to pack their stuff. He picked up a box to see what was in it. He saw the hat that Serus wore the day she died. He grabbed it and sat down on his bed, he started to cry.
The little girl heard Seth crying, she walked up to his door. “Daddy? Daddy what’s wrong?” She said as she walked up to him.
“Oh nothing hunbun.” Seth said whipping away his tears and giving her a weak smile.
“Was that mommy’s hat?” She asked sitting next to Seth.
“Yes. Yes it was.” Seth said trying not to cry again.
“Was mommy beautiful?” She asked looking up to Seth with big eyes.
“Yes she was. Just like you.” He said tapping his thumb on her nose.
“Daddy.” The little girl said with a giggle.
“Are you ready to go?” Seth asked putting the hat back in the box.
“Yes I am daddy.” The little girl said as she got up.
“Ok we will go in a hour. After we eat.” Seth said looking at his daughter with a sparkle in his eye.

Jaelynn held up her hand as she was suddenly interrupted, "Of course Seth. You're welcome here any time. It's always a pleasure to see you." She nodded a bit, not that he could see her nod, as he said he'd be t here in a few days. She then focused back on Markus, "Look..Dad, I have to do this. There may have been no signs yet, but Layla is very..tricky. I have to do a thorough search of the old Raksasha Manor just to make sure."

She sighed, hugging Markus tightly, "You're welcome to come along if that would make you feel better. I doubt, even if she were still alive, she'd be there, but that's probably the first place she'd visit, and I'll be able to sense if there's been any vampire activity."

"What do you mean vampire activity Jae?" He hugged her back with a confused look as he asked.

"A rich stuck up human owns the place now. He knows nothing of it's history. I'll just sneak in, take a peak, and be back before long. I'm expected a guest in a few days. And if he arrives early, you be nice to him." She smiled, waved and disappeared.

Seth walked outside and was taken aback by the sun.
"Daddy what's wrong?" The little girl asked worried.
"Oh its just the sun hunbun, I'm fine." He said reassuring her.
Seth packed up the car. "Are you ready to go hunbun?" Seth asked as he opened her door.
"I guess so daddy." She said as she ran to the car and got in.
"Good." He said with a smile and shut the door. Seth got in the car. "Do you want me to take the long way or the short way?" He asked with a smile.
"The short way daddy." She said with a giggle.
"Of course." He said chuckling slightly.

They started down the road. Seth looked around to make sure no one was around and he teleported them to the front of the Augustin manor. "Well here we are daddy's home and now yours." He said giving her a smile.
"Yay daddy!" She said clapping her hands.
"Now let's go get Felix." He said as he got out of the car. He walked over and opened her door. She got out. "Do you want me to carry you?" Seth said as he knelt down.
"Daddy I'm a big girl." She said as she spun her finger showing him that she wanted a piggyback ride.
"I know you are." He said as he turned around waiting to her to jump up on his back.
"Let's go daddy." She said as she hopped on his back.
"You are so impatient today." He said with a chuckle. He went up to the door and before he could open the door it opened by its self.

"Felix!" Seth said when he saw who opened the door.
"Master Seth its great to see you, and who is this little lady?" Felix asked looking at the little girl.
"It's good to see you to Felix. Do you want to answer Felix hunbun?" Seth asked looking to his daughter.
"I'm Annemarie Serus Augustin." She said with pride as she stuck out her hand.
"Well its nice to meet you Annemarie." Felix said as he gently shook her hand.

Felix lead them into the dining room. "So sir why didn't you tell me you had a daughter?" Felix asked looking at Annemarie, and taking a seat.
Seth put Annemarie down, and sat down himself. He grabbed Annemarie and placed her on his lap. "Well Felix I didn't want any trouble from the council." Seth said as he placed a kiss on her head.
"Daddy!" She said sounding a little upset.
"Hahaha. The council is falling apart sir. Ever since that day." Felix said worried.

Seth looked upset.
"Daddy whats wrong? You look sad." She asked sad for Seth.
"Oh nothing hunbun. Well that's not good Felix. Isn't anyone doing trying to stop that?" Seth asked worried at what his answer would be.
"To tell you the truth sir, I'm not sure." Felix said sounding upset.
"Ah well that ok Felix." Seth said putting he free hand on his knee.

"Well hunbun are you tired?" Seth asked looking at his daughter.
"A little bit." She said with a tiny yawn.
"Well how about you take a nap and I bring in our stuff. Then we can go see aunt Jaelynn." Seth said with a smile.
"Okie daddy." She said with a cute smile.
Seth took her upstairs and put her in his bed. He gave her a kiss on the forehead. "Have a nice nap Anne." Seth said as he left the room to go and bring their stuff in.

Jaelynn sighed, appearing in Southern Florida. The sun was just about to set, perfect timing. She knew she only had a few minutes before the dogs would pick up her scent and start to bark and chase her. She did a scan of the house with her mind, but found no activity.

She sighed, but jumped as she suddenly felt something round pressed against the back of her head.

"I knew I'd catch you one of these days woman. You stalk my house weekly...always in the same spot." said a male voice.

Jaelynn cursed in her head, "Well you see..I.." In a blur of movement, the human found himself on the ground, his gun taken from him and now aimed at his face, "I used to know a very bad person who lived here. I'm just making sure they aren't coming back. Have a good night sir." She walked off taking the shotgun with her. When she was out of sight, she teleported back to her manor.

Of course, Markus was still there, hands in his pockets. "Well, I see that went well."

She laughed, setting the gun down, "Oh, don't you even start. Next time, you can check it out."

Seth got all of their stuff up in his room quietly. He went back down to the dining room where Felix still was. "Ahh that little girl is a handful." He said with a chuckle.
"But she's sweet worrying about you." Felix said with a smile.
"Ya well I worry about her more, I don't know when her next power is going to show up." Seth said with a sigh.
"I was wondering about that, what powers has she gotten so far?" Felix asked.
"Well she can astral project, and she can use psychometry. Do you know what that is Felix?" He retorted.
"She can see the past of objects?" Felix said and asked at the same time.

"Indeed she can. Is there blood in the fidge?" Seth asked walking towards the kitchen.
"Ya there is." Felix said as he got up and fallowed Seth to the kitchen.
"Ok thanks Felix." Seth said as he got to the kitchen.
"Sorry to probe sir but how old is she?" Felix asked pondering.
"Well she will be six in a week." Seth said as he poured a glass of blood.
"Ahh I see sir." Felix said while he nodded.
"Yep." Seth said with a smile and he drank his glass of blood. He looked at his watch "Wow I should go wake her up or she's not going to sleep tonight." Seth said putting the glass down and running upstairs.

Seth got to his room and opened the door and walked over to the bed and sat gently down. "Hunbun? Hunbun its time to wake up and to go see aunt Jaelynn." Seth said gently shaking her.
"Daddy." She said as she rubbed her eyes.
"Let's go hunbun." He said with a smile.
"Fine." She said with a pout.
"Hop on my back and we'll go see aunt Jaelynn." Seth said turning his back to Annemarie.
"Ok." She said as she hopped on Seth's back.
"You ready? Hang on tight." He said as he teleported himself into Jaelynn's house.

"Jaelynn? Jaelynn are you here? He asked.

Jaelynn sighed as Seth appeared in her study, "Surprisingly, you came to the right room off hand. Congratulations." She stood, looking over his shoulder, "Who the heck is that? Oh no, don't tell me. You didn't!" She narrowed her eyes slightly as she pieced it together.

"She smells like you...yet..human...but also like a vampire.I'm only going on threads here, but she's your daughter..isn't she?" She stepped closer to get a better look, her ice blue eyes narrowing slightly, "What's your name girl?"

Seth was taken aback a little by Jaelynn. "Yes she is." Seth said worried.
"Don't say your middle name." Seth said to Annemarie.
"Why not daddy?" Annemarie asked out loud. She did not know how to use telepathy yet.
"Because I said so. Ok hunbun?" Seth said with a smile.
"Fine daddy." She said in a huff. "I'm Annemarie." She said with a smile as she held out her hand. "You must be my aunt Jaelynn." She said sweetly.

Jaelynn's head moved back a bit in surprise, "You're aunt? What the hell? Excuse me Seth? Don't you think that's something you discuss with someone first?" Before he could answer, she held up her hand, silencing him, "I don't care. Either way, what do you want? I don't mean to sound rude, but I've got a lot of shit to do today."

She let out an irritated sigh,"I don't know about you, but while you were away ignoring your duties and having your little fling, I've been trying to keep the vampire world form falling apart. And no offense to Felix, but he's just not..coven leader material. He's too easily pushed around. Moving along, what can I do for you?"

She found it hard to stay on one topic, or be polite right about now. She was mad with a lot of people right now, and Seth just made her list for the time being.

"Damn it Jaelynn it wasn't a fling. Secondly I thought we were friends and I wanted to see you. For fucks sake I went away to harness my elemental powers, which you didn't attest to. Also if you needed me back you could of asked me to." Seth said forgetting Annemarie was still on his back. "Also Jaelynn her calling you aunt has nothing to do with Serus!" Seth said still upset. "Damn it!" Seth yelled. "I'll see you later Jaelynn." He said as he teleported to somewhere in South Dakota.

Jaelynn sighed, rubbing her temples as he disappeared, "You know you can't block your mind from me Seth. I never said Felix was failing...he just needs a confidence boost. Either way, I never mentioned my mother..what does she have anything to do with this?" She sat back down in her chair, letting out a heavy sigh.

[Bovice]

Seth let Annemarie down. "Look hunbun I'm sorry you had to hear that." Seth said whipping a tear away from her face.
"Why was she angry with me daddy? Annemarie asked trying not to cry.
"Shh your tongue, she wasn't mad at you she was mad at me." Seth said picking up her hands.

"Why was she mad at you?" She asked still upset.
"Well hunbun its a long story but eight years ago daddy left this place after Serus died." Seth said trying to hold back tears.
"If mommy would of lived the vampire world wouldn't be broken?" She asked.
"That's correct." Seth said as he turned around. "Hey look at that, there's a carnival. Do you wanna go?" Seth asked.
"Yes I do!" She said running towards the carnival.
"Hey hunbun wait up!" He yelled as he gently stopped her with his telekinesis. He ran up to her and scooped her up putting her on his shoulders.
"Daddy that wasn't fair." She said on top of his shoulders.
He just smiled walking towards the carnival.

"Look Jaelynn in sorry I brought up Serus. I've just been upset lately." He said still walking towards the carnival.

Jaelynn gave his mind a squeeze, like a hug, "It's alright Seth. I've just been having a bad few days. You can imagine why. Tell Annemarie I'm sorry?"

As the two approached the fairgrounds, they would quickly notice that this is not your average carnival. The entrance tent was a dark, blood red color with elegant gold patterns on the side panels. On the left side, just before the gate stood a painted statue of a demonic horse with a single feathered headband/bridle piece, clawed feet, and an elegant rose harness along it's sides and back. The figure was rearing up, it's eyes glowed in the eerie darkness of the fair. Fog trailed out from the gate and dark music was playing gently in the background.

The gatekeeper, who wore all black, tipped his hat, the chains along it's rim rattling slightly. His vest was also adorned in a similar manner, along with a chain by his pocket on his jeans. He held out his hand, the torn gloves showing his pale fingers and his claw like nails, "Why hello, and welcome to our humble event." He paused a moment, "If you wish to take a gander, the admission is $20 per person, $10 for children."

"I will, there's something I would like you to help me with please? Seth asked politely. "Hey hunbun? Jaelynn says she sorry." Seth said as he looked up.
"Its ok. Daddy this place is cool." Annemarie said wide eyed.
"I know." Seth said as he looked at the man. "Hmm 30 dollars isn't bad." Seth thought to himself. "It's a good thing daddy is rich right hunbun?" Seth said with a smile.
"Daddy why do you do that?" She asked leaning down in front of his face.
"Because I can." Seth said as he looked up at her.

Seth weaved through the people, and made his way to the ticket man. "One adult and one child please." Seth said as he nodded up to Annemarie.
They got a little star on their hands, and they walked in to the coolest carnival they have ever seen. "This is a lot better then the ones in New York aren't they?" He asked her as he set her down on the ground.

"Ya it is... Daddy! The carousel!" She said as she ran towards it.
"Damn it! Annemarie get back here!," he ran to catch up with her "Annemarie Serus Augus..." He started to say but when he got up to her he saw the lady working the ride.
"You have a pretty hat." Annemarie said cutely.
"You look like..." Seth trailed off.
"Daddy can we ride?" She said pulling on his arm.
"Sure." Seth said still staring at the lady.

"What might that be Seth?"

The woman was sprawled over another statue like the one at the gate, except this one was simply standing, sitting on a stool next to it. Her arms were draped over it's back, her tattered dress flowing down at an angle, starting at her knees and crumbling to the floor. Her brown-red eyes were enhanced by red contacts that had black rims alone the irises. She had been resting her head on the demonic horse's back, until she heard a little girl speaking.

She lifted her head, her long white hair falling away from her face. In the darkness of the carnival, it was hard to tell if it was a wig or real. Her red eyes settled on the girl before her with a sweet smile. Her voice was kind and slightly bell-like, "Why hello there little girl, don't you have a pretty name. Welcome to the Midnight Carousel." She gently put her gloved hand to the girl's chin, lifting it slightly, "And thank you, would you like to wear it while you ride?"

Her blood red eyes soon lifted to see the man, "Ah, you must be her father. The resemblance is unmistakable." She noticed his stare, giving him a sly look, "I look like..whom, might I ask?"

[Bovice]

"Well Annemarie has astral projection and I don't know much about it and I know you can astral project. I was hoping you could train her astral projection." Seth said still running after Annemarie.
"Really that would be so cool." Annemarie said with excitement.
"Ya I'm her father Seth." He said trying not to stair anymore then he already has. "Um no one." He said with a sad expression on his face.

Annemarie looked at him. "Daddy why do you look sad?" She asked herself sad now.
"Hunbun I'm not sad." Seth said giving her a smile.
"Daddy I know you lying to me." She said as she tugged his arm.
"I'm not lying to you. I really am not sad." He said trying to give her a reassuring smile.
