Mercury Poisoning!

Olivia's face turned scarlet. She hadn't expected this. A laugh and funny retort, that's what she had expected. Not a piggyback ride. She was dumbfounded for a split second, but brushed it off, and got on Saya's back. It felt as if an electrical current was flowing through her from Saya. She felt suddenly tiny compared to him with the feel of his masculine form beneath her. Her heart did a strange flip.

Raising her hand she pointed inside their room. "Giddy-up horsey." She said with a laugh and a surprising amount of confidence for how she felt. Then a thought struck her. Was she flirting with him? Was that even possible, considering Saya saw her as a guy? Wouldn't he be weirded out if she was? She reassured herself with that last thought. Yes, he would say something if he thought anything were off about how she was acting.

"It's a piggy-back, not a horse-back. Shouldn't I be called a boar or something along those lines?" He laughed it off- considering he was from a farm, the idea of farm animals didn't come off to him as a way of flirting. That, and he was used to giving piggy back rides to his sister. "But yeah, we'll go in now." He walked through the door, carrying his friend carefully and putting him onto the lower bunk before heading back to the door to close it.

"That brings back memories. When we were kids, my sister couldn't walk on her own a lot of the time so when I was around I'd give her a ride when she was struggling. Even if it was going outside, since she'd panic if there was a car involved." His laughter continued as he took a seat next to his friend. "Anyway, shall we see our lines?"

Olivia laughed. A grin formed on her face and she looked at Saya. "Ever the chivalrous big brother." She said with a shake of her head. It seemed to her that Saya was one of the true gentlemen left and she wondered what kind of girl could ever be as mean to him as the ones from his past. It just seemed wrong. "Here you go." She said and handed him his script.

Taking his script, he nodded and folded his legs under one another, crossing them in what seemed a natural pose for him. Opening the script, he began to search for his lines, baffled. "Uh...It says here there are multiple servant boys, doesn't it? Or is it a continuation? I'm sorta confused now..."

Olivia leaned over to look at Saya's script. "There should be something distinguishing you from the rest of he servant, considering who you serve..." She trailed off as her eyes scanned the page. "Ah, there." She lifted her hand and placed a finger at his part. She looked up as she did so and realized how far she had leaned over and how close Saya's face was. His body heat was all around her and for a moment it almost seemed to stun her. She looked down as naturally as she could, as if she had just meant to glance at his face. She pulled away in a natural manner also, as if she hadn't even had to think about it. Then she pulled out her own script and searched for her part. "Okay, there I am." She said with a smile.

((no problem, um, I'm thinking they should be discussing the trial their Mistress is going through, you know how it's such a shame and all, and maybe they could have another scene after that, when their mistress dies, you know being all sad))

((Sounds good to me!))

Trying to adjust his voice slightly to have the proper hint of a servant's natural concern for a master, he began to speak from the script. "I can't help but wonder if there really isn't a thing we can do for the mistress. It's so painful for her!"

Olivia takes a deep breath and then attempts to become one with her character. She blocks all else out except what she must say and what she must feel. Her face grows sad, as if she two feels sorrow for her mistresses situation. "There is no stopping her pain, you know it as well as I. The best thing we can do is keep silent. If she and Sir Knight are found out then there will be much more pain, I can guarantee it." Her voice grows hushed and serious at the last line and she stares intently at Saya, though she see's a servant boy in his place.

Internally, Sayaku fought a chuckle at how in tune with the character Olivia was- at this point, he wasn't quite as into it. "There must be a way we can help push them along towards happiness," He whispered slightly in return, knowing to do so from the script. "Mustn't there?"

Olivia closed her eyes for a quick moment and opened them slowly. "If the Prince chooses her... there will be no happiness." Her eyes tighten, as if thinking of an awful truth. Then she sees it is the end of her script and the character she became seems to vanish and her expression clears as she stares up at Saya.

((Sorry if you wanted to keep going with the script. I just figured it would be really short since they are minor characters. I can re-do it if you want to add more))

"Jeez. I thought for a minute you left or something, Olive." Sayaku laughed, already having been mostly out of character besides his voice. "I think Joey should've put you in a bigger role. I don't care if he sees you as a maid, the way you act seems like it'd fit a bigger one then this."

((S'okay xD))

Olivia laughed. "No, no, no" She said quickly shaking her head. "In front of all those people I'll be lucky to get these few lines out." The thought of performing was scary enough without having it be an important role. As it was, even if she messed up her lines the show could continue on normally. "Privately, in front of you, i's easy. I don't worry about looking silly or anything."

"Something tells me you're putting too much stress on yourself thinking that way," Sayaku replied. "Sometimes you look silly when you act. It's really no big deal. But Olive, you didn't look silly. You looked like you were an actual maid being worried for their mistress."

Olivia's cheeks reddened from the praise and she looked away, across the room, trying to find anything but Saya's face to concentrate on. When she was little she had put on mini plays for friends and family, but she hadn't done so in many years. She had been told she had talent and should pursue acting, but she had never really wanted to. Acting was for fun and only fun to her.

After a long moment she peeled her eyes from the wall she had been staring at and looked at Saya again, though only briefly, and then at her lap. "Thank you." She said, grateful for his praise yet slightly confused. His praise had made her feel funny. Blissfully happy, and warm and fuzzy, but different than when others praised her. She looked back at Saya and wanted to hug him. She was, however, unaware of male etiquette in a situation like this. Wouldn't her hugging him be odd? And why did she want to hug him? Even she didn't know.

"I guess I just... don't like the thought of so many people... watching me." She said finally.

Somehow, Sayaku ended up chuckling a bit. "The fact that you had such trouble looking at me when you said that both worries me and makes me think you're like a cute little brother or something." He had meant that the other boy was cute, but he couldn't just say it that way- it was awkward. "There's really nothing to be embarrassed about. A lot of people have trouble being watched. I mostly don't like it either, unless I'm being watched playing music. Then it's fine for me."
