I'm pretty bored too, looking at real estate. I'm not planning to buy at least for another three years, but it doesn't hurt to look anyway to see what's affordable. I'd want to do a 10-year fixed mortgage rate, depending how much the monthly cost figures out to be. The one I'm looking at right now would cost $697 a month at 5% for 10 years. That's not bad at all for a 4 bedroom 2 bathroom 2,400 sq. ft. house. The total cost is $82,200. A down payment would be $16,440. It's on 1 1/2 acres too. I wish I had a job or some kind of savings set up with something to work with. I'd SO go for it >.<

I need to work for an entire year and save just about everything to afford a down payment on anything lol. It also depends if I'd be able to get roommates because I can't afford a $700 a month payment by myself with other expenses.

I was thinking about getting an apartment near the school I'm going to and just have a bunch of friends paying rent. I think it would be cheaper than dorms, but a bit more complicated.
