It was that bad the they had to call in another flabotomist to find the vein and all he had to do was move it a millimeter to the left oTL

I have a fear of needles. xD
I know for a fact that getting shots and things doesn't even hurt that much but I still can't do it. If I know the needle's coming, I freak out. I've always hated needles. To this day, I don't even know my blood type because I refuse to donate blood with my mom and brother, who go several times a year. ![]()

I can't stand seeing needles going to people, worse seeing others than myself. I have no problems getting needles as long as I don't see it and it doesn't hurt too bad. Of course, the doctor needs to remember to tell me when it's out, because I'm not looking. I have a scar from getting an IV as a baby, which isn't all that strange since I got a LOT of IV's as a baby.

![]() AAARGH, NEEDLES. I hate them. I can't stand them. But at the same time, whenever I go to the doctor's and I know a needle is going to be needed, I just say, "Alright, let's get it over with" and I sit there, forcing myself to stay, not even looking at the needle when they put it in my arm. It's the same with the dentist's too when he needs to numb your gums up. ![]()

Wow, someone in the same boat as me! I've had heart problems since I was born; I've even had two open heart surgeries. Every three years or so my cardiologist has me take a stress test. They don't shoot me up with nuclear stuff, though. They usually do just an EKG and an Echo-cardiogram before they make me run.
As for the needles, I've never liked them. I have rolling veins that tend to run and hide when a sharps disposal container is in the room. I've learned to get used to the poking, though. Twice a year for my primary care doctor, and at least once a year for my cardiologists. I just can't look when they go to poke me. I have to close my eyes and look away. A deep breath or two before the poke doesn't hurt, either; it gets your veins to relax.

I. Hate. Needles. I argue that i have a completely valid reason to hate them too. I was a military baby and we often had to get inoculated before we'd move on. When I was 4 we were moving to the middle east and I had to get yet another round of shots. Up until then, needles didn't phase me. But this time the military doctor claimed he couldn't find my veins(I was FOUR) and decided he needed to put a tourniquet on my arm to make them come up. He smiled at my mother and said he was going to step out for a moment to get the vaccines and then...nothing. Five minutes, then ten minutes...when my whole arm was then purple my mother went out, grabbed the first person with a name tag and threatened to wrap the tourniquet around their neck if they didn't get to me NOW. Same doctor came back in, said NOTHING, took off the tourniquet, gave me five shots and walked out. He of course did the shots right as blood was RUSHING back through my arm in the worst pins and needles sensation EVER. Suffice to say I'm not a HUGE fan of needles, shots or even the medical profession after that. Then, to top it off, senior year of HS I had to get a tetanus booster and my Hep C shot...in different arms...on my band final day. Yeah, failed that final since I could lift neither arm. ![]() __________________________________________ Nikko was here out of love for Fey. <3|What is your Quest?| beautiful art by littl3chocobo

I do not like needles. The first time I ever gave blood I think it was a new person doing it because they left my arm badly bruised after having trouble finding my veins. I do not have bad veins, they are not the easiest things to find, but every other nurse that has ever stuck me has been able to find them in one try. So, yeah.
Then my arm was bruised for well over a month from how badly I was stuck. I also was left nearly passing out after giving blood and had to go home early because of how sick I felt. I have not had another experience like this, but I still do not like needles. Edit: I am not exaggerating the bruise either. I thought maybe I had some sort of blood disorder that caused me to bruise easily or something because I had other very long lasting bruises as well. Nothing has ever turned up though and the bruising has mostly stopped. I usually know why I have a bruise now, instead of being baffled by it. Call me Ath!

Seeing as how when I was in Sixth Grade doctors though I had Leukemia (Hypoglycemia instead)and they took-not kidding-five vials of blood about the width of a half dollar and several smaller ones, I'm used to needles lol.
Although every time I've had blood taken (I have a low immune system) it's all been taken from my left arm, but when I had a hormonal test done, even when I asked the nurse to take it from my left arm, she decided to take it from my right (which has NEVER had a needle in it)and boy did it hurt ;A; I mean she TUGGED on it and kept pulling on it! >o< I'm never going to that place again D:
