"Sitting on a giant gum ball?" He looked up at the top bunk again, pondering the very thought. "I've never had quite such an interesting dream. Sounds nice to have such a unique one like that. My most memorable dreams are getting rammed by...well...Rams." He chuckled a bit- those counted more as memories then as dreams, but they did tend to come in his sleep as well. Rams just happened to hate him. "Don't know if you could believe how strong one of those fellas are."
Sayaku dug through his bag with one hand, finding an old piece of paper with a poorly drawn music staff. On it was a tune of peculiar and uncommon note structures, and a title written on the top in his native tongue. "I dream about music sometimes. When I remember the tune, I write it down... Though sometimes I'm in a rush when I do, so it looks pathetic like this one." He chuckled, holding out the written notes. "I tend to just name them 'dream tune one' or 'dream tune two' unless the dream involves a title."

She twisted and leaned over the bunk to take the sheet of paper. She smiled at it, having only a slight bit of knowledge pertaining to the actual composition of music the notes on the paper seemed to be in a foreign, though recognizable, language. She ran her hand along it, smoothing the paper, wondering what sound the notes would make when put into practice.
Twisting again, she held the paper out to Saya. "I don't speak music." She said smiling. "At least not on paper, but I'm sure it's good, if what you played earlier is any indication of your skills." Olivia gazed down at this boy who was her roommate. It was a strange concept, one she had had difficulty accepting before coming here. If she was completely honest with herself she had been a little scared. Saya, however seemed to be a considerable improvement of what she had expected. They seemed on their way of becoming fast friends, which she was glad for. Being alone here would be torture. "Are you excited for tomorrow? You know, first day and all." She asked him.

"I'll play it later probably. This was a recent one after all." He chuckled, taking the paper back and putting it away again. "I guess I only know how to 'speak' music when it's on paper 'cause I've had a lot of practice. But I'll tell ya, this tune is one really weird bit..."
Sayaku was relieved to have a roommate he could connect with. Having spent most of his life either in his own room or in a room with his sister, the relief of having another male in the room was much to be excited for. After all- if it had been a co-ed school and he'd had a girl for a room mate, there was no doubt he'd survive only a moment before anxiety approached him. "Tomorrow is bound to be exciting, though likely a little boring since it's all introductions from what I can guess. But still... I'm excited to start a new chapter here y'know? So I guess I am sorta excited too. What about you?"

"I'm... nervous. Excited too, but mostly nervous." She said, staring at wall beside her. She traced nonexistent patterns against it's smooth surface. What would it be like? She could imagine being surrounded completely by men. The thought made her want to shrink away and go back to were she came from, but she was here for a reason. This was the only school in the area that could teach her what she wanted about art. This school had a reputation for spouting out the best artist of this century. She would be one of them.
As her eyes examined the wall they stopped at a dark spot. It was small and seemed strangely to extend off the wall. Her hand reached out as if to touch it before her brain made sense of what she was seeing. Spider. With that she bolted up with sharp yelp and slid down from her bed onto Saya's. The action had been all instinct, never did she think about how her actions would be perceived until she looked at Saya. "Oh. Um." She cleared her throat. "A spider." She said, trying to sound nonchalant.

"What's a spider doing in here?" He got off his bed and climbed slightly to look over the top bunk, seeing the spider for his own eyes. He picked the spider up with his bare hand, wrapping it lightly in a handkerchief he had in his pocket. Putting the handkerchief on a windowsill he was lucky to notice, he opened the window only to let the spider out. He then closed it again.
"That was weird. There don't seem to be anymore, so no need to worry." He smiled over to Oliver, stretching his arms and leaning back. "You don't have to worry- It's outside now so it can't cause trouble. Spiders make you nervous, huh?" He looked over at the boy before looking up at the boy's bunk. "It's good you brought it up. Better to be safe then sorry, right? But that looked like a normal daddy long-legs. They won't hurt anyone...But they're an eyesore anyway."

There was no suspicion with this boy. He seemed to trust the fact that she was a male. He didn't even mock her for being afraid of spiders. A very stereotypical thing for a girl to be. Olivia let out a breath and put on a rueful smile. He was a perfect roommate.
She watched him as he smiled at her and stretched, her eyes lingering on his face for too long before she looked away and shook her head and laughed. She brushed hair away from her face. "I am a wimp." She declared, grinning over at him.

"Don't see how a fear of spiders makes you a wimp. Everyone's afraid of somethin' Olive. My sister's terrified of water, I get extremely nervous when it comes to girls... We all have things we can't handle. Being afraid is normal. I've never met someone who's afraid of nothing."
He smiled over at him, giving a simplistic smile. "I grew up in a small village in Norway. Back home, it's normal to know what others are afraid of and makes them uncomfortable. We use that knowledge to help them as friends and to also know how not to cause trouble. Little kids might play a prank but no one would get frustrated by it 'cause we know they're just being kids. Everything was simple...So I guess my views are naturally simple too."

Olivia's eyebrows raised dramatically and before she could think it through the surprised question had already left her mouth. "Girls make you nervous? Why?" Instantly she wanted to clamp her hand over her mouth and never speak again. He had just let her fear of spiders go without any mocking and her she was being surprised of his own fear. She had to admit it was rather ironic, considering how easily he could converse with her.
"What I mean is, you don't seem like the kind of guy who would be." She said, attempting to cover her folly. Though it was true, he was very nice, not to mention nice looking. She would have assumed he talked to girls all the time.

"I've had bad luck with girls, even in the village." Sayaku confessed simply. "My best friend as a kid was a girl. But...She was more like a guy so no one really worried as much about how she played rough. But as we grew older, her femininity grew more obvious. Heck, I'd even confessed to her. But... We were practically like siblings. Which is why when she was troubled she came to me." He sighed. "However she'd grown violent over the years too. She started to use me as a punching bag. She'd cry and apologize after but... I sorta couldn't handle it that long. And she's the first, not the last..."
He let out a deep sigh. He wasn't against saying his own problems, since he felt he could trust the other boy in question. "It may be an uncommon fear but... When you get used as a punching bag for girls often, you sorta try to keep away from them after. I had the same problem with goats for a while too. But I sorta decided it wasn't just me goats did that to so it was okay."

Olivia laughed. "I don't know about goats, but as for girls well... not all of them are so very... violent." She stood and walked over to were he stood by the window. The irony of the situation was truly something. Here he stood, conversing about being nervous around girls to girl. Only he didn't know it. She wondered how he would react if he did.
She gazed at his face for a while, seeing the challenge that was presented before her. Wouldn't it be something if she could cure him of this phobia? Who else could be better than a girl he believed was a guy? "All it takes is practice, really."

"I tried practicing with my sister but...Well, even if it took a while and I did manage to get close enough to her... I can't handle other girls very well still," He admitted simply. "I can talk to them, but I always get nervous. So I tend to try not to get too close."

"Practice with me." Again the words were out before she really thought them through. "Ah, I mean I could act like a girl and you could see how well you could talk with me." She said as she ran her fingers through her hair. "I think I can play a very convincing girl." She said with a sly grin as she laughed inwardly at her private joke.
It was risky to act like a girl in front of him, but from what she had seen she believed he would simply think she was a very good actor. ((No worries ^^))

"So you're an actor too?" He looked at him curiously. "I may take you up on that offer... But I should probably wait for now. If you're too convincing it'd be hard to share the room now wouldn't it? I may have shared a room with my sister, but it was strange considering it's not proper. That and she couldn't sleep if I was in there anyway..." He laughed, grinning over at the other boy. "You're quite a renaissance person though, if you can act and do art the way you can..."

Olivia laughed, though his words struck something in her. She was going to be sharing a room with a boy. He would sleep right bellow her. It was so close, and it would be easy for him to discover that 'he' was most certainly not a he. These were things she had known before, but now it was very, very real.
Instead of letting her mind go to far on that subject she decided to tease Saya. "Am I going to have to worry about you sneaking into my bed at night then?" She said, grinning to let him know she was only kidding. "Not renaissance, I just have a lot of sisters." She siad, which was not a lie. She just didn't mention the fact that there were only girls in her family.

"How many in your family, if I may ask?" He looked at his room mate curiously. "And don't worry. I'll likely fall asleep before you anyway. So if anyone had to sneak into someone's bed, you'd be sneaking into mine. But, seeing as you likely haven't a reason to, we should be fine."
Chuckling, he took out some paper and drew a slightly neater music staff then before. His hand scribbled notes aimlessly on the paper, words being written underneath the lines. "In my family it's just me and my sister in terms of kids. Mom and dad still live in Norway, so at the moment sis is living with some friends. Though the village is like family, they're not literally family in the end. But if I include them I have a lot of siblings too."

Olivia laughed and went over to sit on his bed. "As nice as your bed might be, I think I'll stick to my own." She said, though contrary to her words leaned back, her legs dangling over the edge. 'What a strange conversation to have with a roommate.'She mused to herself.
"I have five sisters, all older than me. I'm the baby of the family. I live with my mom and dad and three of my sisters. The other two are off living their lives. One is in college across country and the other is newly engaged." She said, smiling as she remembered them. What would they think if they knew what she was doing now?
