Default How's Trisphee doing?   #1
I haven't checked in here in a while. How's the site doing?
Activity-wise. And also. Is there a chance we'll get new items?

Buying Runes.
PM if you're selling?

It Won't Stop
hello! we still have regulars that check in often, and sometimes new folks show up, but overall it's fairly quiet. I still upload the occasional commons, either new items or alternate forms of existing items (which can be requested in my work thread!). unfortunately we don't really have the manpower to hold big events with lots of item releases all at once anymore

Yeah, what they said! I'm not much of a regular, but others still remember me, and it makes me feel happy because... well, I don't know why.

I haven't been on since 2016 I think! Thought I'd drop in to see what was happening.

I still miss Unifaction! Anyone else came from Unifaction? Oh and Fantage and Millsberry too...

I'm glad that Trisphee is one of the few avi sites still around. Though I miss some of the others. :(

I miss when all avatar websites were more active. I wonder what happened....even the big ones are nowhere near as active anymore.

I doubt really much of anyone remembers me here....kind of a lurker EVERYWHERE!

I feel like the rise of social media and instant messaging combined with the advancement of cell phone technology has been the main downfall of avatar-based forum sites (why post here and wait hours for a friend to answer when you can message them through your app of choice and they get notified and answer right away?). Especially since many avatar sites aren't really optimized for mobile use and the ones I've been on that tried to improve mobile use ended up not super great to navigate imo.
Idk. I miss a lot of the old sites that aren't around anymore though and I do wish the ones still around were busier.

Well, if you have a big enough/good enough tablet, you don't need mobile.

But on the friends thing, the point, for me, of avatar websites is more informal relationships, less pressure to reply immediately. (Which I don't get notified of texts immediately bc my phone is on silent! And I refuse to have facebook and discord on my phone AHAHAHAHAHAHA! You can't sign out of facebook and STOP the notifs from what I hear and I don't want my phone lighting up constantly being like HURR DURR SOMETHING ON FACEBOOK! I don't even keep it open on my laptop)

I do miss myspace though <3 Though, I guess it was like an avatar website for me, some ppl I knew IRL and many I met on myspace.

I mean...my only internet access is through my phone so....yeah, tablet wouldn't work even if I could afford one. XD

I mean, I definitely agree, I like the slower paced communication (hell, I tried getting a pen pal group going on Menewsha WAY back in the day and that's about as relaxed as you can get, lol) but in today's fast-paced world, it's not so common to find people who prefer the slower pace.
Literally the only social media I use is Instagram and I turned off all notifications because I just like sharing the crafts I make and sometimes my nail art, and I have a couple messaging apps, but mostly for family and we rarely talk anyway.

I liked being able to customize my myspace page, but I really didn't have any friends back then so it was kinda pointless to me tbh.

With a lot of social media, there's also instant gratification. With avatar sites, due to old, decaying codebases, notifications may appear slower or there may not be the code to even show you a notification about someone responding.

Same as all those old-style MMOs without the fancy graphics and stuff.

My source of internet is through my laptop and my phone. =w= But I only come on Tris via laptop lol.

The problem with social media is that it's so disorganized. Forums are neatly organized into categories and forum subjects. Social media... is not. ;w; Everything is all over the place mostly. That's why I like forums. And the slow pace has never bothered me, kinda prefer it myself as I can come on and post without having to worry about checking back every few mins to see if someone responded.

I think social media was better back when it was in order (newer to older) because nowadays, it is very out of order and they don't show you everything from those you have followed/friended.

At least if there isn't a glitch, the forums are in order of most recent posts.

I'm not necessarily complaining about slow, but activity. I guess? I remember when there was a lot fo activity, but not so much I felt overwhelmed? I guess?
