made a beanie today. it's a close-fitting one, for wash days (aka when I wash my hair and don't wanna pull it back until it's totally dry) and for fall/early winter.

Naw, don't be sorry. For clothing, I recommend either Bernadette Banner, The Closet Historian, or Stephanie Canada.

Millinery, I got nothing.

Cosplay stuff, Sarah Spaceman, or one of the aforementioned Youtubers. Bernadette also has a Skillshare class for sewing.

@Tam: Naw, it's very close-fitting. In my mind, toques are a bit looser-fitting, and double-layered most of the time, like my obnoxiously neon Transformers toque.

We pretty much call any knit or crochet hat that isn't a critter or a bucket hat a toque around here, I think.

Ugh, it has been way too hot in my apartment to work on the shawl I started recently with the yarn I bought myself for my birthday.
But I did put in a couple of orders for jump rings so I have been working on some pride flag coin purses. I have 1/2 of a trans on finished (but the new batch of blue rings are a little darker so it'll end up kind of mismatched) and just started on the second half of a bi flag one today as well. Still waiting for a re-stock on the pink I need to finish the original coin purse I started, which is just a pink gradient. And I've prepped some stuff to maybe (hopefully) participate in the Ravellenics (like the Olympics, but not affiliated and for crafts) this year. Just a couple hopefully quick projects.

It didn't, thankfully. I've set the belt aside for now, because I need to focus on another big project.

also speaking of fabrics: if you have a Michaels near you, and even if it does or does not sell fabric, either go to michaels.com or call 1-800-MICHAEL, and tell them they need to fill in the gap now that JoAnn's is closing, and to have more fabric and notions, and yarn items, cross stitch, general crafting items; anything that Joann's sells - tell Michaels that they need to start carrying more of it and more of a variety - and especially if your Michaels is a smaller one let them know where you are so they know which stores need more stuff.

i don't know if it'll work, but it's worth a try.

(and while I do work at Michaels, they didn't pay me to say that.)

I'm actually lucky that most of my crafts can be mostly be bought either at Michael's (yarn, and polyfil, though I will miss the Joann selection of certain yarns) or is already non-existent in local stores so I know the good online businesses (safety eyes, chainmail supplies, etc.)
I don't do a huge amount of sewing, though I do have an okay stock of fabrics and am gonna still try to pick up a few more things before the one here closes.

Went to my local Joanns for probably the last time on Wednesday. I got what I could + stuff I needed for cosplays. I'm sad to see it go. ;w;

I also grabbed some cute Stitch fabric and R2D2 + Grogu fabric ;w;
