They're egg plants.
Seriously though yeah, they're weird. I wanna taste one to see if they taste any different, but not enough to grow one. Answer my riddle to earn a prize!
You'll always feel it, but can never see it. It's strong but shatters easily. You can give it away but never hold it. What is it? Pm me the answer, no cheating please!

I've been wanting to try the white eggplants for quite some time. But never spotted any, even in places that carry more unique produce.

Just kidding, you make a very valid point. It's just that sometimes, words and getting them all together into coherent sentences is difficult for me. My apologies. Mekatra - how do you know so much about eggplants? o: That was a very cool piece of information! Do you know any more fruit facts?

Useless fact of the day: The color orange is named so after the fruit. Before it was called geoluread in old English, meaning yellow-red.

There's a whole thread on Tumblr about how violets are not blue...
And why violet was called blue back then... I wish I didn't have so many damn likes on Tumblr! It'd be easier to find it! ;A; ![]() "My car it is my life... and like my life it carries me around." --- My Bubba and Mi Picture drawn by ~isa~

Weirdly I only know the eggplant fact because it came up at a historical recreation thing that I do.
I have a lot of weird facts, but no other ones about fruits come to mind at the moment other than at one point tomatos were illegal in England. Answer my riddle to earn a prize!

So when tomatos were first introduced to England (In the late 1500s if I remember properly) they were believed to be highly poisonous. They are classified as part of the nightshade family and the stalks and leaves actually are toxic, though they will just make you sick, not dead. However, people that were eating tomato became very ill.
The problem was that most of the aristocracy that could afford new and exotic ingredients were using pewter plates at this time. One of the ingredients in these pewter plates was lead. The tomato's acidity allowed it to leech the lead from the pewter plates, thus the people were actually getting lead poisoning. Of course they got sick after eating the tomatos, so obviously they were the ones to blame. Potatos got a bad reptuation for a similar but different reason. When potatos were first introduced to the court they had traveled from South America to England and had done what all potatoes do on a long journey and had started trying to grow new potatoes. As you may or may not know, the potatoes are ALSO a member of the nightshade family and while the potato itself is perfectly harmless to everything but my attempts to lose weight, the stalks and leaves are toxic. Anyway, the court had been promised this fantastic new dish, but the cook did not know that the leaves and stalks shouldn't be used to he served them causing everyone to get sick. Woah.
People had it rough back then! I can't imagine being born in the late 16th century! It's a wonder how the human race even lasted this long! ![]() "My car it is my life... and like my life it carries me around." --- My Bubba and Mi Picture drawn by ~isa~
