I'm about 8 rows away from finishing the third chart of my shawl/blanket. And I'm hoping I don't run out of yarn, because I don't have the money on hand to buy more atm. Thankfully, finding a match won't be impossible, because Red Heart Super Saver doesn't have a dye lot for the colors I'm using. :3
I use She/Her and They/Them pronouns.

Actually, I've only made 3 of them total (socks, not pairs). The first 2 were a matching pair only I did the bind off too tightly on one of them and the yarn eventually snapped and started to unravel. And the third one was supposed to be a pair, but I got distracted by other projects and now I don't remember my row counts. They, too, were saved on one of my old phones. Also, as far as yarn dying goes, I've gone the cheapo way and I just used kool-aid powder and also food coloring. I haven't really tested the color durability when washing, but since those dyes really only work well on wools and animal fiber blends (at least 50% animal fiber), they'd n3ed more gentle washing anyway unless you're felting it. Although I did start buying superwash wool when it became an option. I haven't been brave enough to test it and I also don't remember which ones are normal wool and which are the superwash because I forgot to label them. I would love to experiment more with dyeing though and also to get actual yarn dyes. ![]()

I might just have enough yellow yarn to finish the chart I'm on with the shawl.

That's good, Den ^^ running out of yarn early is such a pain, especially when you don't have money to buy more right away and/or the one you were using isn't readily available anymore.
Kool-aid powder, huh. Interesting. It somehow never occurred to me you could use food coloring to dye yarn, but now that I think about it, why not. In another forum someone recently posted a picture of their hand dyed yarn (don't ask me what color they used though) and it was dyed as a knit tube, then unraveled. Reknitting the yarn into a pair of socks yielded a pattern of color distribution that looked quite different from how it seemed on the tube, so that's got just the right amount of mystery. Ah yes. I have never had a piece unravel on myself - mainly because I haven't even done so many to begin with - but I can see how wear and tear becomes a problem. That's actually the reason I also want to learn naalbinding, because a lady working in our local open-air museum once told me socks and gloves won't unravel so easy when they get holes. ![]()

i saw a video with a cool way to make a little pompom mat... but i doubt i'll make it. i'm working on a puffy blanket that's made with slightly stuffed hexagons. it's in its baby stage, so i don't have pics of the blanket. but i have some of the hexipuffs i made.

Guys! I drew a flower on my leg while I was bored last night! That counts for the challenge this month, right?!
Lol. But I am just a semi-complex bind off away from actually finishing a flower. Quote:

Good thing about using Red Heart Super Saver is that there's no dye lot for the solid colors.

Guys! For Derpy's birthday should I make a bunch of mini cupcakes or just one (or two...well, a full batch probably because I always make a lot) normal sized cupcake(s) to decorate like it's a normal (for Derpy) cake size? If I do the latter, I'll probably just take 2 or so cupcakes, trim the top off so they're flat, and cut them to make layers. Like a normal cake. And then decorate the entire outside. You know...like a cake.
There are pros and cons to each, but I don't really know which one I want to do. And yes....I do realize he's just a stuffed animal, but it's an excuse to make and decorate delicious cupcakes... AND ALSO! JUST A REMINDER! May is almost over! Will your flower project bloom? Better hurry up and finish it! ![]()

That's a pup-cake! XD
I probably won't have the time or energy (or skill) to do anything too elaborate. Probably just a simple rose swirl on the top if I do mini cupcakes. Or a traditional, yet mini, cake decorating if I assemble cupcakes to look like a Derpy-sized cake. (Probably just simple piping around the edges and some easy flowers or something...) Rose swirl from a few years ago: ![]() ![]()

I probably won't have the energy to do the fondant dots and spines even though the shape is simple. Plus, I really don't like fondant at all. But I might be able to pipe spines and dots on. Or just spines since Derpy doesn't have dots.
XD We'll see how ambitious I feel in a couple weeks. ![]()
