I've got the purple bobble armwarmers on hold... because part of me wanted wrist warmers and got loud enough to be heard... So I started white wrist warmers, and I'll use red yarn to make the bobbles. BECAUSE I CAN.

YUP. TRL is where I get pretty much all my maille making supplies. They're pretty much unrivaled on quality and price. Plus, I have a serious crush on the armor work they did for The Hobbit.

I do like Weave Got Maille for their enameled copper rings, but TRL is definitely my go to for everything else. And their customer service is fantastic too! I had an order go "missing" (it somehow had not gotten shipped) and so they resent it plus gave me a code for free rush processing on the next order.

After I get the second wrist warmer done, if I have enough yarn left over, I'll make a pair without bobbles.

I hardly ever work with enameled copper anymore. Only when I need white rings, to be honest. The anodized aluminum is just too nice. Lasts longer, it's light, and cheaper even... I can't argue with it.
Speaking of, I finished my gift for the dirty santa exchange at my work Christmas party tonight. ![]() Answer my riddle to earn a prize!

Is that a helm's chain? Beautiful! I struggle a little with helms chain still, but I think I haven't been using good ring sizes for it.
I have found colors in the enameled copper that I haven't found in anodized aluminum currently, which is my main reason to use it. TRL is getting good with adding new colors though. | ||||

I finished the second bobble wrist warmer! I still need to make leaves for the bobbles so they're not just random red balls on the wrist warmers, but that can wait until midweek.

Yeah, Helm's doesn't work well if you don't have ring sizes that work well together. It was the first weave I learned so it's always been a favorite.
Actually the last of the "basic" weaves I learned was European 4 in 1. Everyone always says it's so easy, but it's hella unstable until you get a couple rows in, so no, it's really not. Byzantine or Box maille is actually an easier starter weave... or Persian. Basically anything that isn't Euro 4 in 1 lol. My obsession lately has been the square wire rings. They're so pretty. A bit of a bugger to work with, but so fun. I'm still envious of you string workers. I just can't... Answer my riddle to earn a prize!

I can teach someone how to chainmaille. It isn't actually that complex, it just is tedious. >.<

I'm not sure if I could teach someone to knit. At least, not over the internet. It's one of those things where I would want to be there in person to guide hands to get the movements down... there are a crapton of youtube videos on the matter though.

I am unteachable, not because I can't get the motions down.. but because I lose track of where I am. I don't have the attention span to count all my stitches.
