I'm (arguably) a better writer than artist, but I've had more practice with writing too.

i once wrote a whole backstory for an adoptable on gaia...too bad it never panned out, thus i never used it.

If I were to write anything just for fun, it would be backstories for all the OC names I have in my head XD

The main point of NaNoWriMo is to write. even if you only manage a few hundred words of story, that's okay. you wrote more than you would've otherwise.

Yes.
When you hit 50K and validate it online you will get:

A fun video of the staff congratulating you.
A Winner's Certificate. (fillable pdf format)
Winners badges in various sizes to display on social media sites.
But most of all - the satisfaction that you did something so amazing!

Stuff will be written, there's no doubt about that. I just don't have much time available to do more than the bare minimum, that is, things I would be writing anyways even without NaNo XD
