Should I end up in the South someday, I'll give it a try just to say that I did.

I saw an advertisement on TV for iced tea that highlighted its "herbal extracts!" I think they might not have a complete grasp of what tea is. (Or tisane, I suppose, if you want to be technical.)

So coconut sugar is my new favourite thing! My sister brought a bag over that she didn't want anymore and I've been using it for the sake of using it up (and hey, free sugar! All savings are good savings.) It tastes quite sweet, which is fine for me, and my gut seems to like it better than the turbinado that I have been using (same reason. We had a tube of it so I'm using it up.)

I went and dug up one of my personal sized teapots: enough for 2 cups. I realized how fast I was going through teabags and this was getting to me, both because money and my doctors giving me a hard time for how strong I like my tea. 4-6 cups a day digs away at your stash.

Hoping to make a visit to Murchies soon when I'm back in the city. I'm out of my Queen Victoria tea!

Is it total spam if I have new things to share?

So, my sister in law just picked up some coffee leaf tea for my mom and I try. I'm not really sure what to make of it. It was an earl grey, so the bergamot was pretty strong but it still had this low (if that's a thing) sort of flavour that might have leaned either nutty or roasted. Not sure which. I think it was called Wize Monkey, or something like that.

I like Golden Monkey myself, might that be similar?

I myself ended up buying 2 lbs of tea today to take home, since our tea store closed down. . .

No idea. Is that Brand Name? In this case the "tea" was made from coffee leaves rather than tea leaves, so I suppose that wouldn't really make it proper tea.

I went to a couple tea stores and picked up a few things. I picked up an herbal strawberry thing that smelled good but I was told not to use milk in it as one of the other ingredients will cause it to curdle. Not sure what it was. I think they said it was the Hibiscus.

NEgatory, to my understanding. Weird how they put coffee leaves for a "tea"

from Wiki-
Quote:
Golden Monkey tea (Chinese: 金猴茶; pinyin: jīn hóu chá) is the name of a black tea originating from the Fujian and Yunnan provinces in China. Only the bud and first leaf are picked, and the tea leaves are characterized by the pale gold threading

Unfortunately it was top-shelf tea T.T so it was like $20 per 2oz -pets wallet- but I use it to make my orange spice black (1 scoop golden monkey, 2 scoops orange blossom) so I can't let it disappear from my sight.
I have been told the same thing about a few of my tea choices, which generally do include hibiscus for its sweetness.

I've encountered "monkey picked" tea, which is a ranking system of sorts.

Coffee leaves in a tea is really no different from anything herbal. It's just not a tea plant. I guess you could call it an infusion. Does it qualify as a tisane?

I don't think so, to my understand anything tisane has little to no caffeine.
I wonder now. . . ultimate caffeine tea of coffee and black tea?

So my real question is does the taste of coffee leaves differ from the eban and how so?

I've had Yuenyeung before. Hard to describe the flavor. It tastes more like tea than coffee, but it doesn't really match either.

I drink both of them but im no enthusiast or something like that. I simply drink them because I need at least to have some caffeine in my body daily. I drink a mug of instant coffee almost everyday in the morning before I start doing anything like going to school and stuff. As for tea, I just started drinking it but not that often compared to coffee. Usually when I'm studying at night where having coffee would be a terrible idea or whenever I feel diligent enough to grab a teabag and drip it into a mug of warm water. The brand of coffee im drinking is the original Nescafe Original Instant coffee. For tea, Twinings Jasmine Green Tea is what's available.

Tisane is anything herbal, to my understanding, and that assumes that coffee leaves have caffeine in them. I didn't actually look at the package for those sorts of details.

David's has a coffee bean and tea blend. It's called Jumpy Monkey. It's quite good.

Looked up Wize Monkey. Coffee leaf tea has a little caffeine, and apparently is a traditional thing made with excess leaves after the bean growing season is over.

I keep some instant coffee around for the rare times I feel like it, though I've learned now that mixing coffee and tea (not sure if my Jumpy Monkey counts) is generally a bad idea for my stomach, unless it just *seems* like a bad idea because I turn to coffee if I start to feel crummy because it will sometimes help.

Yeah, at first my parents got me the Green Tea with lemon. It's good too be honest but the taste is rather strong too my liking it's attention grabbing for me unlike the taste of Jasmine tea which is great too in a more subdued way, is that the right usage of the word? All in all, I simply liked Jasmine more as it allows me to enjoy the thing without having to be mindful that im drinking one and allows me to focus more on studying and yes I study too.

I'm a pick about Green Tea, even though I don't have it a whole lot. I have serious lose leaf types, but my go-to is Yamamotoyama Genmaicha in a bag.

There's a nursery in the area with a tea store where the husband and wife will occasionally blend their own tea. I'm thinking of being along my discontinued Garcinia tea and seeing if they can make something similar. I'm down to barely one cup left.
