What was your first job? Did you like it? How long were you there?

I worked at a print shop running a huge printing presses. It was a 12 hours on 12 hours off for two days and then two days off kind of thing. I was 18 and still in high school but already had a kid, girlfriend and apartment, so I needed money. I'd go in after school at 3 and run presses until 3 am, then go home and sleep, then go to school a few hours later.

I liked it. It was easy for the most part. The presses ran off 500 sheets in minute. The hardest was cleaning up wraps, which is like a paper jam but worse because the paper and ink would be caked on the rollers and we would have to spend forever scraping it off with these metal ink knives. Our arms would hurt pretty bad after because we had to put so much elbow grease in it. We had to get orders printed by a specific time, so it would throw us way off schedule. We would print anything from business flyers to books.

If you count summer jobs, I flipped burgers for a while. It wasn't as bad as people make it out to be, although I can see how it would wear on you if you had to make a living off of it.

My first professional job was writing software for time clock systems to keep track of employees' hours and salaries. I spent around four years there and did a lot of interesting stuff -- when I took the job I never expected I would be learning how to build electronics or write Linux kernel drivers.

I started working at taco bell, but they never called me back after my second day until 3 months later. . .
By that time I had gotten a new job babysitting my dad's bosses grandaughters, aged 5 and 7. They were silverstar cheerleaders and full of sass. It was fun at first, Lots of jumping on the trampoline and practicing their tricks. There was also an in ground pool, and I taught the 5 year old how to swim and float (even though I can't float tbh XD) . On tuesdays and thursdays I also babysat the grandparents mothers caretaker's 2 kids for a bit, 5 and 9. Also ended up teaching the other 5 year old how to swim.
broke my toe and almost got my nose broken with a mirror compact when I asked the 7 year old to towel dry the dishes after he younger sister rinsed and I washed. She seems to think that because I am the babysitter I was supposed to do all the chores by myself because that's what I am paid to do. Threw the compact in my face, ran away from me and when I chased after her slipped and railed my toe into the door frame Dx
They got watched by their cousin for a week then ended wanting to be with me because he was to strict and just played video games all day (which is what they complained they wanted but whatever). Ended up watching them until I threw in the towel in december because they continuously antagonized me, and somehow I had gotten roped into caregiving for the 90 yr old women before and after school too (16 yrs old draining and reinstalling her catheter and cleaning up after her. . . man I was getting paid the same damn rate D:) So in total from June to December? ah exactly 6 months XD

My first job was in retail, of course.
I hated it, it was in a bad neighborhood and I was threatened because I saw someone stealing. The guy told me next time I come in here to steal and you see me pretend you don't see me or I will kill you.
I quit soon after that.

hi hello, trisphee is my first/only job, and tbh! it's a terrible example of what to expect in a working environment! i am completely unprepared for life! rad.

but other than the fact that my only job isn't even a real job, it's cool as heck. cooler some months than others, i'll admit, but i think that's just the way of things. i love working with creative people, regardless of if i'm producing any creative works myself or not.

My first job was a cashier at a small drug store. I was in high school at the time and, honestly it was my favorite job ever. It was in a small town so everyone was really nice and we didn't have any barcode scanners so we had to ring everything up by hand.
My favorite was getting to check in products and use the sticker gun thing to put the price stickers on items.
And my co-workers bought me presents for my 18th birthday because they were so happy that I was old enough to sell beer so I didn't have to call them up to check for the beer sales.
I had that job for 2 years. Wish I could find another one I like as much.

depends on what you consider a job, i guess.
i did petsitting for family members off and on for a while, and spent a week working on a ranch during the summer pulling weeds. i did art commissions very briefly, too.
first "official" job was walmart salesfloor associate. did a little of everything: stocking, zoning, helping customers, etc. i liked it ok; it wasn't exactly a blast, but it was a job and the people there were mostly nice and it was a learning experience. unfortunately, they laid me off before my 6 month temp period was up so that they wouldn't have to hire me on permanently and pay me more, and when i tried to reapply and interviewed with them again, they never called back.
now i'm at a different walmart doing maintenance instead, hoping i can move to a different position and then transfer to another county so i can move out and go to school.

You should totally make sure it's on your resume, though. It totally does count as work experience, both ground-level and management, and you're good at both.

i haven't made one because i'm an idiot. but also, i'm not an idiot, i'm gonna use anything i can possibly get down, regardless of how legit i personally think it sounds. 5 years experience, the majority of which has been as a team leader, ain't sumfin to scoff at. let's talk about how motivated i am and how well i keep to my deadlines.

also, praise me more. am i good at things coda? do you liiiiike working with me? it's okay, i won't tell anyone that you think i'm both a creative and an administrative powerhouse.

My first Job was also trisphee o3o DK was a modling here.. I learned how to deal with people. ^w^

Too bad the warren family mission doesn't appreciate their volunteers.. I had gotten so many compliments from the people who came in to get things. <3 ovo All the compliments were thanks to trisphee <3

It was the year 2012, two years after I graduated from high school without a goal in life. I was taken to a youth program, and through them, I got a job at the animal shelter where I lived. I loved it because of all the cute cats and kitties there! There was one time I almost cried.

I was finished with what I was supposed to do, and I got to be with a cat. It was affectionate towards me, and the woman I was working with said she had not seen it act the way it did towards anyone else, so I wanted to adopt it. I got the permission slip for my parents to sign, but when I read it over, it asked if the person filling out the form had pets, what breed it was, and if we still had the animal. I suddenly remembered that they were not able to let anyone who had a pit bull adopt from the animal shelter. Other than that and the time a puppy had to be put down because of me, I enjoyed it. My time working there was only temporary, though.

My next job, working for Kirby Vacuum. It sucked because not only did the vans not have working seat-belt, but I had to help pay for the gas for the vans AND was expected to show u to work on time, even if we stayed up until one in the morning. For one week, I stayed, and nothing came of it. There were no promises kept, and we were not paid the way they said we would be paid. They did not say that we would only get paid for getting people to make appointments to see how the kirby vacuum worked n their home, or only getting paid by getting the person to buy a kirby vacuum. I stayed up until night doing what I did, but then I quit. That was in 2012 as well.

I am telling these two stories because I'm not sure they count; however, my third job is the one I... currently have?

I liked it at first because I was getting paid, but now, I don't like it. There's currently no work for me at this time, so I need another job.

I knew it was a joke... I just pretended it wasn't because I was grumpy just thinking about it. I never want a job similar to it either... even if it were indoors, and I had to wear a suit, and it was hot out! One of the people gave me water out of the kindness of his heart. I didn't even ask him!
