Just a dark black with bright colors in its shape.. I think is the way they do it.

But how to do it in silver...ahh, maybe that wouldn't work, but a splattering mix of colors jabbing across the canvas...maybe using stark black & purple as a fiery outline...hmm...once I get an art program on this computer, I'll try to experiment.

Silver? As in the main color? Perhaps if you switched the ideas. A light background with a darker pallet of colors for the inside fillers?
