not sure how they do it, but they do. one of my friends said that their bandwidth was lowered as a penalty for downloading pirated movies and tv shows.

i think kickass is the only (non anime) torrent site left.. if you can find the real one and not the ones that trick you. there are now a few fake KA.. ouo

I don't download torranted shows/movies. ^^; That Finding Forrester movie I sent a download to DK was a legit digital copy that I got for free with my flash drive. There was a code thing to enter on a site for it, and I think now you can get that movie for $5-10 anyways since its so old. x'D

ya slapping people with huge fines and jail time wasn't working out so now they contact your internet provider and get your speed reduced. Sometimes you still get warnings but ultimately they attack your bandwidth.

Or they shut you down entirely. It happened to us when Dad downloaded a pirated copy of Captain America. I spent a week piggybacking on the unsecured network of a nearby neighbor... I was so mad at him for being an idiot, and I told him as much. He hasn't done it since.

Had here I watched it on netflix, which I caught my dad recording it because he has this really weird set up where he can do that. He had said it was because as far as he knew they were not releasing it on dvd or anything (at the time they were only showing it on netflix) then a couple years later its on dvd. XD

Well he never got into trouble for it because he literally just did a screen capture of the recording. And its fine anyways because when it came out on dvd he bought it anyways. x'D

Downloading things is getting scarier and scarier. Which is why I am trying to find safe sites to watch TV shows from.. I can't afford Hulu AND netflix, and at the time I got netflix, Hulu didn't have the ad-less option.
