See what people didn't notice is before flynn booty that exchange and market was pretty much the same 5 items and 5 people. That the market was shit before the booty. Them added money into the system which they needed to do, but not so much. The main problem was, they have to keep rereleasing items to balance off the inflation. Hence the flash sales. For instance, an itme that was released in 2013 being 4x the prices follows the gold to cash rate.

Well, from what I've seen here...they were thinking of releasing recolors of monthly items for double the price. (Though they are thinking of it being 30 runes instead-still more than the original price). Just stating.

I don't know where you get that it's the same 5 people unless you're talking the forums. Most people are complaining about the actual marketplace with auctions and the like where, once Flynn was released, prices shot up. Like I had one item worth three million (my most expensive one). Last time I checked, which Flynn has been released again since then, it is now worth 10 million or more. That's the marketplace going to hell. I've never had problems finding stuff there, but now I can't afford it in any way.

You have to understand that our reasoning to rerelease recolors of 2013 monthly items is not the same reason that Gaia does what they do. Gaia does it to make money and they don't ask the users, they just do it. We want to do it to increase circulation of those items because there aren't many in the system because of how slow the site has been over the past year. I only suggested they cost more than the originals because I wanted the people who originally bought them when they came out to get the better deal. And we asked the users what they thought before doing it. I don't think you can compare that to Gaia. Especially since we don't plan on doing it over and over again.

As for the topic in this thread, I checked out the impact when I got the e-mail saying that if you bought $5 of GC you got a free set of Flynn's Booty or something? I did it just to see what would happen and I got around 5mil. I bought a bunch of items I had liked but I haven't been back since. >_> I think that their constant rereleasing of old items is getting ridiculous though. Which makes me more mad than the gold generator.

Gaia's economy is forever broken. It will never recover. They have tried to balance it out by making payouts larger and making gold sink events but until they stop releasing gold generators (which they never will because it's a cash cow) the economy will never recover.

Ugh, I left Gaia back in 2008, not long after joining because the forum environment is immature, spammy and rude. Thoughtful folks are at a disadvantage over there and as many features as there are, none have really captured me. There is no substance to them.

I've popped back over throughout the years for a looksie at the forums and have updated my avatar some while I was at it but it has not changed a bit. Notice how I said "updated my avatar some" and not completed a new one. With all this inflation caused by the gold generators, I'm not able to afford some of the items I'd like to have used. It's ridiculous.
