That's another thing that has irked me, the yearlies. This year the yearlies are recolors of a collection of previous items that we've seen. Gallagher did an industriously amazing job of the massive range of recolors, and the labor involved is astronomical for pixel art, but I have to ask why we have recolors instead of new items?
I've bought my fair share of runes for the prospect of trading or picking up Monthlies and Yearlies, I won't lie. But the yearlies we have now are things we've been given before. I don't know if there was an issue with Trisphee's pixelists delivering new content that had to be patched up or if life things came up, and the massive content recolors has indeed allowed me to pick up variants of items I have missed in the past, but I do have to wonder why we're not seeing unique items. It seems that was the same case for the previous year's items as well, as I have many of the same thing, save for color variants. Are we just at a dead end for new unique Yearly items? I've been sitting on runes for a bit with the prospect of trading them, but most of the user base really has no need for them due to them already having the items featured in our current yearlies. Just seems there's no real reason to purchase premium currency if the things it buys are just rehashes, and it becomes worth less than aurum if no one wants it since they already have the originals of the rehashed items. It becomes a stagnant currency when it's designed to be the lifeblood of Trisphee. There's great examples out there of legendary donation items. ml1201 has a wonderful avatar featuring quite a few. I'm a big fan of the Desert Nomad, and was happy to have picked one up back in the day on a trade. I see so many wonderfully inspired and perfectly executed examples of donation items of years in the past, and as they progress on it seems as if they've waned until finally our colorists are putting more work in to them than the pixelists. If we're down a pixelist or something, I would love to see more hired. Believe me, I have no problem purchasing more runes if it means we can see a return to the same standard of items we have had in the past. If our current lineup is overworked, is there any chance of finding another to help ease the workload? EDIT: I would love to see style variations as well. As long as Trisphee has been around, we only have 2 examples of firearms, the weapons are nearly outlandish in their fantasy themes, and I can't help but feel that most of the casual clothing caters to a particular style. If we could see more examples of ranges of fashions and other items and accessories, and go in more than one direction with their design, that would be grand. EDIT TO THE EDIT: Hi again. Sorry to whine. But it has just occurred to me that I've been posting more to save up for Eggs, which have original, unique items. I suppose the new question I'm asking is why do the aurum-related items have well-done unique items when the items that require premium currency consist of nothing but (well done mind you) recolors of older items? This just seems backwards to me.

1. I actually don't like doing real life holidays, especially for Tris. It sort of ruins the immersion for me. But, I am strange about holidays.
2. I have always hoped that we could have Nox, Carnival, User Appreciation, Feb winter/spring event, and 2 other small events, but the resources simply haven't been there to make it happen. 3. When we first did recolor bundles for Yearlies, it was in the hopes that our pixelists would find time to make new items to release with them. That, obviously, didn't happen then, and I find the chances of us getting a late release of them slim now. As hard of work as it was putting together the Yearlies we have now (with pretty much no input aside from you users, because I don't really have a team at all atm), I would have been happier if there was just as many new ones to give y'all. I really don't know what I'll do if we have another year like this. ![]() ![]()

I actually like the recolor thing to be honest, and here's my reason. I only grab a few of the donation items that are currently released and its mostly because I don't like the color options but see a couple items I could use. With the recolors released I actually have a wider range of items that I know will get used. I'm actually wearing several yearly items right now to be quite honest and wear fewer of the none yearlies because I have a harder time matching. x'D (I know I have a lot of donation items in general on but only because I got lucky, if I tried any other color I like I'd be hitting a brick wall). It makes sense to keep the completely new items as something to introduce throughout the year to keep people interested, the yearlies is more so just meant as an option. However I think they should be priced a bit higher, I actually thought they were amazingly cheap considering all that they contained. I think I ended up buying one of each color just for the heck of it. ^^;

Don't get me wrong, I love having them, too. I'm addicted to having options like this. If I had unlimited time, I would do a lot more than the 12 new color sets I did. But I would rather have 3 new sets and 3 new items than 6 new sets. Ideally in a perfect world where I had help and Yearlies were done on schedule, I would like 6 recolored sets and 6 new items.

As for the Yearlies, we didn't have the staff to create new items the past 2 years. We asked the community what they wanted instead of new items and it came to an agreement that lot of people would be interested in Recolor bundles of poses from items over the past year. The Yearlies done this way are actually quite successful in my opinion. ---------------- As for what Galla just posted before this post, I agree, I think it would be best going forward if we could have an even mix of Recolor Combinations and New Items. P.S. Galla, you're amazing. <3

I have no problem with regular holidays only if we don't call them Christmas/Halloween. I like seeing substitutes for the names and making something out of it. I like how Nox is like the Day of the Dead and it's a nice replacement to Halloween. I like see the holidays that aren't normally celebrated get looked at or at least evolve into it's own thing. When Nox event first came out it was easy for me to understand that it was related to Halloween. But I don't appose tooling those events to be more like the regular holidays.
Make Christmas a month, give us the ability to gift anonymously straight to the user without having to wait for them to accept a trade. And allow that feature to be only used all month long (Despite the feature would be very much appreciated outside 1 month.) My reason so much for not calling it Christmas is because there are other holidays, while I'm not religious and I celebrate the secular side of Christmas I think inventing or tooling a wintery holiday tradition in trisphee (that doesn't have to be plot related) would be a awesome treat. If we were to have 1 big event per year, do it in the Summer where no one attending High School (our general targeted audience, if not college students) have the most free time and are looking for something to do. Then have a smaller nox event, a quick cheap Winter Holiday event about gift giving, and what else in spring. So.. 1 Big, 1 Mediumish size, 2 small (Trisphee's Birthday, and... Whatever else? Masquerade? Dance? Ect.) Oh and if we do have a Masquerade/Dance we should have a sitewide roleplay that's not plot related to be used for the Masquerade. Just make threads listed as Ball Room, Eating room, ect. And let people do the rest of the work, and only monitor it for whatever rules you set for it. ![]()

It's actually been my experience that summer is the least active time for forums, likely because people are doing other things, like going on trips or such, and in general spending less time in front of a computer than when people are in school and working on assignments. A large event would probably do better in the fall or winter.

But if what if your saying is correct, doesn't that even make it much more sense to have the biggest event in the Summer because there is a lack of people coming onto the site? Wouldn't that just promote and give people more reason to take the time to participate in such a large event? When the site is falling short of having people on and don't comment because the lack of activity, you want the activity to be strong year round and consistent. You should be working to keep regular numbers year round, and not focus on get people to participate seasonally and or when it's convenient to them. :/ I never came on Trisphee during the Summer or chat much because there was nothing going on, and it was dead. I was always told it was because the staff was too busy during Summer with jobs and whatnot to put on a event. But then I hear the same excuse in the Fall, Winter, and then Spring. ![]()

Well, I know several people that are literally on trips most of the summer and cannot get internet connection. Most of them actually traveling the country/countries (if they are in Europe) during that time. Though having a small/medium event is still a good idea in my opinion just to keep up activity.

Yeah, that's the generally what's going on in my circles and is the reason I've often heard for summer slowdowns. Trisphee's event schedule just doesn't have that much affect on my real life schedule. I don't exactly sit down and think "gee, Tris is boring today. I think I'll go camping for a couple of weeks."
By all means, have some manner of event to try and gain more of a user base for the slow times, but I would reserve the large ones for times when the site is naturally active so it has the best change of being successful.

Not something we did in my neck of the woods in summertime but I like the idea. Post in forums, catch fireflies for currency, buy things. Seems like it could be a relatively casual event that would give something to do in a slow period but not depend on lots of people to be fun.

We can have fireflies that roam the web pages! We had something similar in the past!

OMG! That sounds like a good idea! But please if we need to click on them to 'catch' them please do not do on Aywas and make them go fast-slow-fast-slow or just fast in general. I nice slower speed, kind of like an ant crawling I'd say, would be a good speed if they do move around. Also, please don't do this silly think where you have to wait X amount of time before you can click another. If you want a timed interval between collection you could try doing like knuffel does and have these little captcha things pop up saying that there's a firefly on the page just so that they don't click past it.
And just for those who are done and don't want to collect anymore, maybe have a thread people can post in saying they don't want to see the fireflies anymore so that it can be locked for them? I honestly have no idea if this would be possible or not to accomplish, but I figured I'd toss my two cents in. x'D
