Also, I believe you meant 57 AU, since my post had 56 AU (sorry, it was buried under the pennies), so...

58 AU.

It's essentially a piggy bank, but it's shaped like a geisha and I put all my spare small change in there and when it gets full I take it into my bank and put it in my savings ^_^

That's a cool idea.
I just tend to spend my change so I don't carry around more of it.

About 10 years ago someone in south San Diego filled up a 5 gallon water bottle with change. It took him about 5 years to do it and they started a savings account for their kid with the money.

I very rarely go out let alone spend my money in shops these days so it takes me a lot longer to fill than it used to. I buy nearly everything online or my partner buys it on his way home from work... The only time I really get to spend money in shops is Christmas and when I go to conventions/expos...

That's a good idea.
Usually I try and do my Christmas shopping throughout the year. After all, if you run across something through your travels over the year, what are the odds of finding it again around Christmas time? Not to mention, it spreads out the expenses which is useful.

Typically I'm at least half done well before Thanksgiving. This year I'm far behind that, but to be fair, quite a few people have put in requests for my Oreo Truffles for Christmas, and I can't really make them this far in advance! Cream cheese only keeps for so long, after all...

Yeah, I have my Mom done and I am cutting out sibling gifts this year and only getting it for my nieces and nephew. So I have Alpha, my stepfather (so just getting him another knife or a typical guy gift), and my grandmothers to buy for left.

I have to buy things throughout the year as I have to get gifts for my 2 sisters and brother, my mum, nan, aunt and her new baby and my partner... plus my mum, brother and partner have birthdays within a month before Christmas.. -_- But there is still always a mad dash to get gifts before visiting to drop them off... ^_^;;
