That's exactly what most people have been saying in the discussion threads.
Some are trying to make user run gold sinks by buying purely off the gold shops and nothing from the cash shops or market place.

That doesn't actually work if you want more options now. From what I hear of my friend, gaia is kinda hell bent on only updating its cash shop since it shows how much money they can make off suckers. Again Gaia is now a corporation, its like McDonalds, starting out as one thing and evolving into this business where the bottom line drives it. Even if there are sellers against inflation, there is no guarantee the person they sell it two will not turn their back and try to get as much money as they can.

yeah, they are even updating the cash shop twice to three times a day. It makes me wonder how those poor artists are doing. They are cranking out mostly recolors and minirigs that give out old items though they are also releasing minirigs with new items mixed in with old ones. But by user demands, they are doing a once a week comic update so we can finally know the ending to the latest arc.

Well to be honest I am surprised that reaper is still an artist. I remember when they were first hired and everything on the site changed to their style. Gaia must pay well enough for them to make a living off of it. And if they are like any other artist then they find away to do it. Its an entire team even if the users do not see every one. Once a week is not bad for a comic, if it were daily then I would be worried.

I guess buy trying to push more items in the system they are trying to lower the prices but xD at this point it depends on how much they are charged for it. If the cash has no real gold value people can still charge what they want.

I think reaper stays because of all the users. There are several with close connections with reaper (no idea the gender by the way so I'm trying not to be specific)so I think reaper stays for them or something like that. I would be worried too if it was daily.

The prices haven't really gone down, cash or gold wise. In fact most of it has gone up like they have a new recolor priced at 1400gcs and a bundle with most of it's previous incantations at 2500gcs. The pricing on the market is crazy and in the billions.

Also, staff post with the doge meme on it announcing a contest that is "your best forced meme about us wins gold!" is kinda...sketchy.

xD It pretty much is the bastard child of Tumblr and Gaia. It has Reapers art all over it and the same head staff. I dunno, the fast past pace works for spamming and doing random shenanigans. It doesn't have a story much yet and its all geared towards being more social media then it is actual avatar website.

For me if I went back it would be that I want items. Apparently a lot of the old items I have worked for have no value because they are not fancy and not when gaia had the power of the Viacom copy-right to make anime look like things. My inventory was small enough when I was there so I would want the newer stuff.

new things. recolors just are not appealing when it is an item you already have unless it is that one item you just cannot live without and even then five new shades just does not cut it

Well part of it is that they're pumping out so many items that quality is going down...and some old items were awesome :D

Some of the older ones were nice and since the prices are dropping on them (except for some) I am happy to get them. However, I find I am wearing some of the newer stuff more often for the reason mentioned by Pogs (older items have less poses). But I do not buy GC anymore.

I've been a part of Gaia since 05. It was really nice back then, no cash shop and stuff. Towns were nice and they had movie theaters and stuff you could go into like the towns. Was a real community. I quit for a few years for other reasons that had nothing to do with Gaia, and recently went back a few months ago. If you don't have real money or art skills you really aren't going anywhere on that site unless you are patient and wait for donations in a quest or charity thread or play certain games. Which I did when I came back and they helped a lot. They certainly got greedy, but they are making money to support the massive site they got. So I get it though it is unfair to those who can't afford to buy GC. So I feel you. But this has been going on for years with the whole inflation thing. When I started, Monthlies were only like 30k and that was a large quest to go for. Now 200bil is a huge quest and can take you quite some time to get as well. But with how much things are, it will honestly take you the same amount of time to quest something really expensive as it would of back then, cause we didn't have the huge amount of items we have now to trade and such. There is also videos you can watch to make GC and you can get a good 500GC a month if you do them just seldom. So other than the amount of zeros it really hasn't changed too much. Cause when one thing goes up it all goes up. But you can't get anything instantly on there and never really could. It's just a matter of preference whether you want to stick to a site like Trisphee which is more community or a gaia site which is now more about items.
