Default Lactose intolerance   #1
This happened maybe a few months after my accident at work, I had to take immune-suppressant pills and it made everything worst.

Now I take lact-aids and I still get bloated, sometimes have gas and in the worst cases diarrhea.

I just need to talk about this: I am/was a huge chocolate and cheese person...this intolerance is driving me crazy.

Tell me about your intolerance, possibly lactose one.

-just ate chocolate after I took lactaids and not feeling very good.
I feel pretty :°D

Have you tried looking for lactose free chocolate? They sell them at specialty stores, along with cheeses and things like that. Walmart may have them, but ours doesn't have a good selection.

I am allergic to certain types of grass and pine trees, which was native to where i grew up. I took medicine daily to go outside and missed my junior prom due to an allergic reaction the night before. It sucks when i want pesto because pie nuts (which are the nuts of a pinecone) it the traditional nut to put in pesto.

yes, I eat any lactose free cheeses and yogourt I can get my hands on, but the things I liked the most are now out of reach because they make me sick *sad person*
I have not yet found lactose free chocolate though, maybe it's not available in Canada yet? One of the difficult part is how expensive those products are so I have no choice but to limit myself.

Oh wow, that must not have been fun :/ *never went to any of her proms* Am in University now and I don't really regret not going haha
Hmmm yeah pesto is delicious with pine nuts, but you can make it with walnuts and it is delicious too :) They grow on trees but not the pine trees! I hope you gget to try nut free pestos, or make tasty ones!
I feel pretty :°D

I make it with walnuts and sometimes buy a local woman's... her's it sooo thick and she introduced me to using it as a sandwich spread. As for prom I went with out a hitch my senior year but going to the ER in my prom dress because they cut the grass right before prom sucked. The nurse was nice enough to go get me some flowers from the shop and wear one around while i spent the next 5 hours there waiting out the reaction.

I have seen them at whole foods market, and my friend eats one that is vegan and is basically like a Mars bar. The name is a Twilight bar.

...How did you become Intolerant?

I've always been as such (mildly) but I did not know that you can become one...

Sure you can become one that is how most of it develops. As kids we drink milk just fine but as we grow older we cant drink it.

I am lactose intolerant. I drink lactaid of course and there are many dairy free products out there to choose from. If you like cheese then that might suck but take the pills before you eat it or stick to skinny cow. I can eat yogurt just fine though and small amounts of ice cream too. So I think overall my case of it is rather mild except for pure milk.
I used to have a sig. Really.

Real swiss cheese is normally lactose free. Yay! Also, goat cheese is your friend if you don't mind the taste. I enjoy flax milk since lactose free cow milk makes me sick. I eat dark chocolate since normally they don't add milk, but be careful; a lot of dark chocolate candies (or candies in general) add lactose even though they don't add milk to the product. For yogurt I stick to greek yogurts. The only kind that doesn't make me sick. When I move to New Zealand I will be drinking goat milk like a boss. lol

I recently last year developed a bad reaction to nuts, so I understand the frustration of having to change your diet so you don't get sick.

I know I'm saying this a little late since this was posted but I'm also lactose intolerant.
I have been for almost 10 years and it is pretty tough. I love cheese and chocolate milk sometimes you just have to deal.
At first when I started taking the pills before I ate they helped but after a while they stopped working. I still take them when I'm going to eat rich/creamy food but most of the time I don't. I think my body may just be growing out of it a little? I find that I can eat cheese pizza and not be bothered, it's only really bad when I eat... really good food, like expensive food, that's when the bathroom becomes my best friend and my insides cry. But yeah, I don't know if my body is starting to develop it's own way to cope or what. xD;

coping with it is the most annoying part...I tend to not go to restaurants just because I don't want to be sick at the restaurant xD

/sorry if I answered late to this thread; I've been quite busy with work and pretty intense shifts c.c
I feel pretty :°D

Yeah, I don't blame you. For the longest time I didn't want to go out either because it feels like all the best foods have milk in them. ):
What's the point of going somewhere if you gonna be jealous of everyone else getting what they want and you're like, "But but but... ;o; -Grabby hands-"

I'm kinda the opposite,
If I don't have milk I get sick.

But I do have a fear of becoming lactose intolerant.
I'd hate that so much.

The Mad Scientist
:I This is going to either horrify everyone or make everyone burst out laughing, but I have a story about mine.

So I work at a Cabelas(google it), the majority of the staff on the hardlines(this is guns, hunting, archery, ect) is male. Males being as males are they had this on going farting contest, where they would see who could out stink the rest. Well they made the mistake of doing this to one of the guys who I work with, who I happened to work with that day.

So my whole department was just stank all day. So in retaliation I decided to drink a 1 liter of chocolate milk an hour or so before my shift. Now, this is gross, I get some seriously bad gas when I have dairy products, I get cramps and whatever when I eat cheese and whatnot but milk just gives me gas. To say the least I defeated them all and they called a cease fire, I may or may not have been crowned the worst farter in all of hardlines too.

BI that is my story, enjoy <3
