It's supposed to be a 50% chance for anything to happen, but I haven't caught anything actually happening myself. It could be that the numbers are off, or Coda forgot to actually turn it on...

I think I may just go to sleep myself now, it's 3 minutes past midnight and I doubt I have the patience to try and get 4 more lanterns to finally get that Evenfall... *sigh*

I think your suspicion of the posting ones not having been turned on might just be correct. I don't think I've heard anyone say they've gotten any from posting.
