Well, the implication has been that the old Patriarchs were all ridiculously powerful psychics, so Cain being Adam's son would have made him among the most potent psychics to ever exist. Honestly, he was probably holding back in that fight, just too far beyond caring to go all-out.
Also, did we ever figure out what happened to his spear? I can't remember if Shealtiel is taking it or not. (Not sure he needs even more of a power boost at this point...) Also also, anyone can feel free to post now, unless we're waiting for Ari and Dolly to get their characters in? If you need more context, say there's a fair walking distance across the coastal plains before we reach civilization -- it's likely we'll get picked up by a patrol before reaching the city. I think I'm done creating my character. I don't have any pictures of her just yet, though I'll work on getting some. >w<

Well, a picture's optional, you can always an avatar as a placeholder, too. I'm honestly curious to see what you've come up with, picture or no. :)

She looks fine to me, though I'll mention that unless she can enhance her strength and reflexes with her theurgy, she's probably going to have a rough time trying to use that sword on anything other than a horde of zombies. And unless she can empower it with theurgy, it's not going to be able to hurt a lot of the nastier beings who tend to have blanket immunity to mundane weapons.
Also, the blinding thing, how will that interact with psychic and spiritual senses? (Which most of us, and things we run into, seem to have to one degree or another). Cold silence has a tendency to atrophy any sense of compassion between supposed lovers. Between supposed brothers.

It'll temporarily paralyze them like how it would blind the humans. :3
She doesn't really use the sword or dagger, they're more or less a last resort option. (Though that shouldn't be too often.) Cause her theurgy can be channeled into her five-bladed gloves so her hand-to-hand combat is more effective. :3 ![]() I'm blunt and direct. I like to lurk and observe.

To be fair, we both haven't run into a serious melee threat yet, and none of us would be very well equipped to handle it (though I'm sure Na'lsa could pull some kind of unholy shenanigans if the situation required :P).
To put it in perspective, early on we saw that Saint go 1 on 1 with a Rephaim, said Saint being a warrior with several thousand years of combat experience decked out in Savior Armor and dual wielding Wrath Swords, on top of having Theurgy bolstered by milennia of singing in God's choir, and he *lost* to the damned thing. :| Gave it a good fight, but lost. Granted, maybe it was a special Rephaim, who knows? :P And for the blinding, that's fine, just don't be surprised if (for some ungodly reason we run into) certain superpowerful entities can shrug it off. Sariel angels, for instance, have those invisible swords that absorb every spectrum of energy. I'm not in the habit of putting us up against things that will massacre us by sneezing, though. :P Cold silence has a tendency to atrophy any sense of compassion between supposed lovers. owo Well, she's still developing her offensive skills as she did just start not too long ago. >w> And she's still young, so who knows what else she'll be able to do in the future.
But hot damn, how the heck did the Rephaim win that fight? D: Being massacred does sound like fun, but I don't wanna die. >w> Sariel? I take it you were the one to name the Tris item with the similar name? :P ![]() I'm blunt and direct. I like to lurk and observe.

Well, a Rephaim's biggest advantage is how horrifically fast it is, despite its size. They can seriously bullet-time, he probably just overwhelmed the Saint, even if they were roughly equal in all other areas. Those things... strength in numbers -- and I do mean STRENGTH -- tends to help.
And yeah, that item was actually sort of made for me. >_> Sariel is one of more prominent Angels of Death after Abaddon and Azrael, Fen liked the name so she used it for the item. But they're a class of angel here, probably the most dangerous "generic" enemy we can encounter. Cold silence has a tendency to atrophy any sense of compassion between supposed lovers. Damn. There has to be some way to slow Rephaim down. >w> Someone has to be able to do something about his speed. >w>
Well that's rather handy to have an item made for you. Hm, I like the Azrael name more, but Sariel is nice too. Don't really like Abaddon's name at all. >w> It is? Where can I find it? ![]() I'm blunt and direct. I like to lurk and observe.

Right here, Ari. This lists all the creatures and big-bads. http://www.trisphee.com/forums/showp...46&postcount=5
And I'm the opposite, I think Azrael is overused and cliche, and think Abaddon is all kinds of badass. :P And it's not just one Rephaim, Abaddon has hundreds of them at his disposal, though they're his elite troops so he keeps most of them with him at Sinai. As for slowing them, a really power psychic probably could, though at that point, said really powerful psychic might be better off just blasting its bones apart. Rephaim don't have very good magic defenses, engaging them in melee is suicidal, but they can be taken down with sufficient force at range. And of course, a powerful enough necromancer could attack the animating soul directly.... But if you really want the top of the melee totem pole you should look at War, the Red Horseman. :P He's pretty much, by his very essence, unstoppable in battle. Best strategy against him is "Run. Far, and quickly." Cold silence has a tendency to atrophy any sense of compassion between supposed lovers. Between supposed brothers.

Oooooh. Right. I need to bolster Dante's melee a bit. I think he and Lev (I said Lev because Lev is a Soldier. Na'lsa is just...Na'lsa) are the only two people decently equipped for a melee fight, although I'm not sure what could possible only required melee and not just be smote by Shealtiel.
If I give Dante TK (which might require some tweaking because I want it to be an evolution of his "sight"), I'd have to start small. STONEWALL WAS A RIOT

Oh. When you said, "a class of angel on here", by 'here' I thought you meant Tris. >w>
I don't see Azrael that often, so it's not too overused or cliche for me. >w> Abaddon just has a weird feel for me. Uh, do we even have a powerful psychic or necromancer that's strong enough to take down Rephaim? Being a horseman he's got a horse, and isn't having a horse going to make it that much harder to outrun him? D: And who the heck is Na'lsa? :o I didn't see it in the character bios whatsoever. >w> ![]() I'm blunt and direct. I like to lurk and observe.
