I get it, I just don't have much regard for what my parents tried to teach me.

My parents are racist without realizing it, sexist without regret, and 'dislike' the idea of homosexuality. They don't like my religion of choice, and wouldn't even begin to understand my gender identity.

My parents have always been hypocrites, with my mother too stuck in her mindset of not being able to change things and letting my dad run rampant doing what he wants and talking to people however he wants, excusing it with 'you know how he is' or just 'I hate it when he does this'.

I love my parents very much, but what they've done for me mentally and emotionally has been severely lacking compared to the survival aspect.
